  1. Except, the ratio as it stands now, forces teams to give players who in all reality wouldn't be playing pro football, starting salaries. Or at the very least higher then the league minimum salaries, when the league minimum is what they should be making, at best. There will be players left out, but again, not a lot. Would Harris have gotten a shot with a 5 player ratio? Probably, wasnt he backing up a cnd rb? Now, if there was zero ratio...likely not. But this isnt getting rid of the ratio. Its allowing teams to remove the 2 worst Canadians on their team...not the 2 worst starters. Just the 2 worst canadians. The 2 worst starters will likely just become back ups. Adding to the talent depth. On the flip side, maybe the bombers could have kept a player like Montgomery if they weren't forced to use a spot on a player like Thomas. I love Thomas...but it's clear he isn't in the same talent pool as his American teammates. Taking 2 players off the field who likely dont deserve to be there anyway, won't do anything but improve the game.
  2. My thoughts too. I like the ratio as much as anyone. But this will improve the depth of every team. The best players will still play. Imagine if the Bombers weren't forced to play Sam Hurl all those years? Or Brock Ralph? Does anyone really believe the league would be worse off without those type of players?
  3. But wasn't he put on a similar list for the Lions? I seem to remember something about him being involved with some system like this.
  4. Couture ready? - I think a lot of people down play the amount of in game time he saw last year. He played, a lot, and played well. The bigger question for me is who wins, Gray or Foketi?
  5. I don't know about top 2....definitely top 4 though.
  6. Again, this can't be true. I have it on good authority via members of this forum that Ambroise is ignoring the PA.
  7. I went to the game when it was here a couple years ago. I gotta say, for the amount I paid then, I would have had a better time at home. It didn't help that the game was played by two teams I don't like, but even the half time/pre/post entertainment wasn't good. At the rate these prices are going I won't ever be going to another one, unless the bombers are playing for it in WPG. Otherwise, I can spend half as much and have double the fun with friends and family at home. CFL needs to start seeing that if they are charging these prices, the game (not the week) day experience needs to be improve dramatically.
  8. Keep in mind, this was the same agent who gave the Ticats a dead line for offering him a contract. I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to spin it that Johnny cancelled the contract....saying that. The source seems to be less then legit. My thought is, Johnny smoked some weed or drank or quit a mandatory course etc etc etc....to purposely void his agreement, knowing the league would force MTL to do this. I don't think it's a coincidence that he was just talking about how interesting the AAF is, now he's no longer under contract....seems fishy.
  9. called it! https://3downnation.com/2019/02/27/manziels-agent-johnny-did-not-break-any-laws-or-violations/
  10. Johnny flat out played the Als and the CFL. He knows the AAF is willing to let him play. And that he would likely have more success in that league due to the lack of talent and the rules of the game. "Unable to abide by the terms of the agreement" - and "Johnny was unwilling to proceed". That screams, he purposely broke the agreement knowing it would get him released. Considering the way he was traded, he likely knew the Als weren't going to be cutting him. Made the league force their hand now he's free to do what he wants. I'll be surpised if he isn't signed by an AAF team very shortly.
  11. I'm going to assume it's one of the agents that leaked this. Hervey can't be too happy about it either. News like this gets out and your trade options shrink big time. Everyone knows they will likely need to release one or both before the start of the year, so just wait them out. Saying that, I'd be happy if they were able to land Foucalt for a decent price. Not a 1st rounder. But if he is released, I hope they go after him big time.
  12. Jovon was clutch in his time. Always came up with the big returns when the team needed it.
  13. I think it's jumping up to catch a pass, only to have it bounce off his chest/go directly between his hands, and into the oppositions.
  14. Yes, there is no communicating between agents/gms/coaches of multiple leagues/scouts etc etc etc. There was no way of knowing Biggy was looking at a return to the CFL, in the same way there is no way of knowing which former CFL rec are on the cuff of looking at a return to the CFL....it's impossible and entirely based on luck and luck alone.
  15. Boom? Like Boom goes his Knee?
  16. Good for him. Nice to see him transition into that kind of role. His playing days were done, glad he wasn't trying to hold on.
  17. I fully expect Streveler to take over at least midway this season, if not sooner.
  18. What really bothered me was the apparent lack of adjustments. "This isn't working, so lets try it again!"
  19. That wasn't the WSF that was the Final. The West semi final our old aging fading RB was only able to get 100+ yards against the leagues most dominate Dline.
  20. His old legs likely got tired around the 95 yard range or so.
  21. I'm going to assume you just didn't watch any of the games during the last few weeks/playoffs. He did whatever he wanted against you in the shut out. Then quickly got the title in Edm game with a huge run while we played our back up oline. I can't seem to remember how he did against the riders in the WSF though, you should go watch that game again.
  22. Thompkins is a Slot rec who will get the tough yards. He won't be a regular deep threat. I'm more interested to see what Simonese will do. He burned two of the "top" CBs last year for big plays. I'm hoping his development has continued and he will become a game changer regardless of his passport.
  23. Too old, injury prone, and coming off a big injury. Been there done that. I would have liked someone who can continue to build their career here, like Adams has. Saying that, I'm not disappointed in FA. I think the bombers have the guys in house that can fill some of the holes. Was just hoping they'd be able to lure in one of the top WRs.
  24. I'm going to throw up if they sign Manny.
  25. Would have been solid at the price...but I do agree. The bombers need a player who can take the top off the D and or make the possession grabs without missing 6-8 games a year. So I can't say I'm too upset about missing out on him.
