I've said this from the beginning. If you're relying on any government to keep you safe. You're ******. People need to take responsibility for themselves and do what they need to do to feel safe. There's a certain amount of risk because of others behavior but at the end of the day the only one capable of keeping you safe....is you.

I'm hearing schools are going code red. Haven't heard about daycare yet.

I've been saying since the start, this has amplified just how broken our society is on multiple levels. From early education/food systems/power supplies....etc etc. The potential for disaster is far closer then most people think. wasn't it new brunswick that just had an outbreak? They've done better over-all...but they haven't been perfect

I'd bet good money we will not be finding out were these serge's are coming from.

I've heard the city is going into full lockdown as of midnight tonight. Only essential stores open, only essential items for sale.

Yup I fully expected a few futures pick. Not sure why anyone would have an issue with that as the CND content of this team is solid.

Kito was doing alot of work with youth in the city. Basically helping them get better at football and school.

I think Jade had at least one TD.

Damn..no money for me

I dont think we fake anyone who will be in camp. Too much $$ for what the team needs....which isn't a starter. I can see a futures pick or a DL. Lokombo to Ssk is fantastic! They'll be playing a lot of D this year lol.

I just signed up with Bodog a little while ago...and hadn't used my credit(match) when you sign up. So it's an even better bet for me. $12 - $650!
-
Im takin that bet!

I mean...if they're going to court to fight the government on lockdown measures....I'm not sure a fine will change much...

Anyone watching the New Mighty Ducks series on Disney plus? It's really well done.

I'm always torn with the stuff. Because really the only way to get rid of taking heads like this, is to completely ignore them. Sure outrage on SM will get one of them fired, but as we've seen....there's always gonna be another one. If no one watches/pays attention via SM, eventually they'll be forced to change what they're broadcasting.....on the other hand, we should probably know what they're rambling about so as to build a defence against it ...

Yeah once it was announced that they were leaving the province, and the subsequent outrage about them walking with our money, the PC government announced they hadn't paid yet....im hoping that's the truth.
-
Apparently the government didn't actually pay them

TPR in MB hasn't changed. So this number is big...but mostly due to the amount of tests that were done.

There's so many who can relate. I'm a grandson to a ww2 vet. And my dad has similar stories to what was shared here. My grandfather never talked about the war, turned to alcohol (for many reasons but it started when he got back) and his relationships suffered. This also had an impact on my relationship with my father (as I'm sure it has for many people). It wasn't until I was an adult that these things were discussed openly. But because they were I understand that some of the things my dad said or did aren't conductive to a healthy relationship between father and son, but it was what he knew...it was what he was exposed to. Knowing more, I have been able to adapt my fathering style to my kids. Likewise as he's gotten older, he's become much more emotionally available especially when grand kids arrived. He's said on multiple occasions, that he feels so lucky to have them because he can try to make up for the mistakes he made raising us. These discussions are extremely important to help break these cycles trauma can create.

No, I actually don't think THIS government would do that, as you're right...we know it's not normal and wouldn't accept it. My worry is the normalizing of this with the lack of education around the reasons why. *worst case scenario time* why don't we do this for flu season? It kills people, even children...I've come close to this with my family...So even I'm like...I can see a reason to have a government mandate on visitors during a really bad flu season...but maybe in a decade someone suggests it would be a good way to keep people working etc...so now during flu season these measures are taken...then after that it's for some other reason and so on and so on...until over the course of decades it's completely normal for us to ask the government who we can visit. *worst case scenario over* And yes this is absolutely alarmist, but I'd rather have the conversation or at least acknowledge it then completely ignore it and pretend the government isn't creeping into our homes. I am a worst case scenario person at heart after all. Again I do think that worst case scenario won't play out, I can even quote sources showing how similar moves in the 1920s didn't end up dragging society down that path...but again I won't pretend like it can't happen.

If you're ok with the government restricting who you can or can't have at your private residence, that's fine. It makes me (even though I'm for it, and understand it's needed at this current time) uncomfortable and I won't not talk about it. And yes, I've been saying for a long time these rules are for the idiots among us who don't understand how a virus operates or just basic manners even.
