  1. I have direct knowledge of this
  2. I remember hearing he was considering retirement after the last GC win. So maybe he just hangs em up. I can kind of see the reasoning behind this. But it also must mean they're targeting a cnd on Offense via FA right?
  3. Why would the NFL compensate the CFL? Honestly....why would they?
  4. Bighill signing here after coming back from the NFL was nothing short of HUGE! He's been nothing but an amazing leader on and off the field. His involvement in amateur football makes waves with kids everytime he's around. I can't thank that guy enough for his play. And his influence off the field will be felt for a long long time. Whether he realizes it or not. "That's Adam Bighill" heard weekly at U of W by children being introduced to the sport. The guy is a legend.
  5. The 2nd half of the TO game near the end of the season was maybe the best adjustments Buck made in his time here. They came out in the 3rd and marched the ball down the field with quick passes and runs. That's what got them back into that game and I'm completely baffled they went away from that in the GC.
  6. for sure. At the time though, I don't think anyone thought paying those guys was something they needed to do. Could they use them now...absolutely, but no one can see the future.
  7. Yes and no. They were going home...but also getting significant raises that just didn't make sense (for the most part). Would you have been happy to make Chungh the highest paid Oline like BC did? Maybe I'm not remembering properly, but if he wasn't the highest paid he was damn close to it. Couture may have been the only guy on that list they could have realistically gotten. All the others were getting huge raises from (imo) being on a good team that raised their ability. Drew would have been a nice get, but again...I don't think anyone would have been good with making a Guard the highest paid OL even if they weren't already bogged down with other big salaries. I agree that they haven't done a good job of filling the cupboards/giving legit chances to others. But I don't think any of the guys we lost were worth the money they were being offered else. If I'm Tui, and I don't win the job out of TC..I might be looking at asking for my release. Players only have so much time and he can start in this league.
  8. 100%. Not something that should be ignored for too long. But I'm doubtful players are looking at those and deciding they don't want to go to wpg because the plane they use to travel isn't great.
  9. I don't know. I think the bigger less agile guys played into his strengths more. I think he may have been less productive against smaller LBs.
  10. Don't forget signing with some hockey club too....something like that. Anyways...I hope this recent move pushes his ring of honour induction back a decade.
  11. Once a Bomber....ALWAYS a Bombers....ahahahahahaha
  12. I'm not sure he meant it was an illegal hit. He was blindsided technically as he didn't/couldn't see it coming and then was pancaked.
  13. Oct 17th game against ssk is my bday!
  14. 2 bye weeks in the first 6 weeks....that's brutal
  15. Gauthier is still a solid Special teamer though. He does bring value and can fill in at LB in emergency in game situations.
  16. Maybe it's a 1 day so he can retire....
  17. Lawler and Schoen will be wearing blue and gold in 2025.
  18. I'm not saying he didn't do "fairly well". I'm saying he was a solid qb who for whatever reason could never get over the hump. In the one GC game he played in, he scored zero touchdowns. Mitchell threw the lone TD for stamps that game. He was benched the next playoff game he played in after posting a league best 14-4 record. How is that not the definition of coming up short in almost every big game?
  19. agreed. That pass to Darvin Adams down the sideline just over top of Robertson was a thing of beauty!
  20. sure. His full body of work will show you that he comes up short in almost every big game he's ever played in (in the CFL). That's a solid amount. But with him and Rose on the DL they'll be very good.
  21. not really. By the end of his career, that was his MO. Solid QB but not someone who is going to lead you to a GC victory.
  22. Meh...it's probably a wash. Both are qb journeymen. I'm not sure if I just forgot about this, or never knew in the first place. But apparently in 2019 after Nichols went down the bombers tried to get Glenn out of retirement. But he declined. apparently he did. Stats say he was 2 for 4 for 16yrds.
  23. I'd be shocked if Ott doesn't lock him up before then.
