  1. Maybe they are releasing players in reverse alphabetical order.......
  2. Damned ignorant of Steinauer to cut a player before training camp. He must be at odds with Austin. Fire him.
  3. Any game in which we beat the Riders........which sadly isn't enough lately!
  4. CB hasn't done much Since Hamilton but Calgary never really had to use him as they have pretty good Canadian depth at receiver. Doesn't hurt to bring him in for a look does it?? He is also a Manitoba boy.
  5. Steen just take a LOA from City Council and the police board for an abuse charge on May 1st. So I don't know if he will be on any board for a while.
  6. Not to mention PD is in the middle of a meander in the River which could lead to flooding of the stadium (From the river this time not the snow melt). and the area likely isn't suitable for a building of it's size and weight.
  7. Just doing what we do best
  8. Tell this to the Rider Fans who think their stadium won't go a penny over the budgeted price in the 3 years it will take to build... On everyone of my jobs I always estimate slightly higher then I think it's going to take and 9-10 I am under budget on my projects. Clients like it more when I tell them I am estimating on the high side and the project comes in under then if I were to estimate low and go over. It's a lot easier to charge less then call them and ask for more! I can't understand why they don't do it on jobs like this. I think realistically they should have just made the budget $250 million and when it's all said and done and comes in at $210-$220 million everyone would have said wow they got it done for $30 million less! Instead everyone gets upset because the $190 turned into $210. Honestly is there a single person who actually thought we could build a stadium of that size and complexity for under $200m??? Maybe the government and province said we aren't going to fund anything over $200 so make it less then that and we will get the ball rolling. The Riders are actually doing this correctly. They are estimating likely on the high side and will come in a lot closer. I still feel they will go over but probably by a few million. And if they come in under PCL will look like the greatest GC across the land. The MTS Iceplex (Formerly the Mooseplex) came in under budget and I don't believe I heard any problem with it. However if you go there and sit in the Winnipeg Free Press arena you should see the cracks going through all the stands. Funny how no one seems to bring this up or worry about it....

  10. So I found out today the reason why Miller and crew decided not to openly explain what the cause of the water loss was and how bad it was. Simply put they didn't want to play the blame game. They just wanted the issue resolved and for everyone to move on from this. It backfired however as the media ended up playing the blame game on the Bombers. I kinda like Wade's s approach on this. He had the choice of going to the media and pointing fingers at the builders and architects and demand answers but instead tried to play it low key and just get it fixed. He could have been a little warmer to the media and maybe let them in for a peek and maybe in return they wouldn't have made such a big deal over it. Instead they ran with it as a worst case scenario. All suites are fixed and the cause of the water loss is being fixed right now. I won't go into details on all of it as I was asked not too but the cause was not lazy workman ship nor did it have anything to do with how fast they had to get the place done. It was a simple product failure and they are looking into a different product to make the necessary fixes.
  11. Especially since Aaron Kelly is still on our roster. Bellefeuille bromance? I'd rather bring in a reasonable prospect for a look in training camp, hell if we really need Kelly back I'm sure he'll be available. Don't even get me started on Aaron Kelly, I have no idea why he's still on our roster. For everyone that loved to rag on Jade Etienne, here's an import who tons of people seemed to fall in love with because of a few spectacular catches despite the fact that he actually produced LESS than a guy like Jade. If we're going to be competitive, we should be able to do much better than Aaron Kelly. oh c'mon. Get started.
  12. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the fans who wanted to be there for the first season in IGF. I personally know 4 people who only got tickets last season and had really no interest this year regardless of how the team played. 12-13% is a bit of a dip but if they get going out of the gate there walk up sales should keep them around 24-25k tix.
  13. Sadly I feel that this makes BC slightly better now
  14. I wonder how much of this years salary is deferred to next year? If they keep this pace up then in 2-3 years they won't be able to afford a team
  15. All I ask is we don't get blown out 52-0 in the presason and our first offensive play of 2014 at home isn't an interception.....surely we can do better then that
  16. By McCune do you mean Robert McCune or another McCune? And if so when did we sign him?? No one has signed Robert McCune and we aren't interested in him according to reports. Then why is McCune listed between wild and banks? That's why I ask.... You're commenting on a post from two months ago... Lol well then.....carry on

  19. Not sure how he did in mini camp but Stafford Gatling sounds excited to be part of the Bombers as well. @s_DOT_g36: It was an honor to partake @Wpg_BlueBombers mini camp with a group of great guys and coaches. Excited about the upcoming season #gobombers
  20. Thought he had a criminal record and couldn't even cross the boarder? Or was this all settled?
  21. So did the NFL make the ball bigger or did the CFL ball get smaller?
  22. 12th man? Well damm....there you have it. Perhaps some orientation and observation is indeed in order.......I'm going to Google some differences between the CFL and NFL........."did he say 12th guy"?...what the heck The CFL and NFL are pretty different. 12 men on each side being one. Another big difference being the the field size. The CFL fields are 110 yards rather than 100, and they are also about 12 yards wider as well. Not to mention the end-zones, which are 20 yards deep. It takes some getting used to. Once you look it up, you'll see the leagues contrast in many ways. Uprights in the front of the endzone not the back and a we have bigger BALLS
  23. can you explain a bit that 'rover' position in Etch's D? is it the same to the 'jack' position in Burke's D? From Google... This is a label given to a player on the defense of a football team tasked with one of many tasks, but mostly revolving around stopping the opposition's best player, or best performer. The "rover" position was not used very often in the National Football League, it was more popular in the college game. The idea behind a rover was that a skilled defender would only have to watch the opposition's best player, thereby ensuring they would never go uncovered. The position adapted to one which is tasked with stopping short runs and covering the short passing zone. Sometimes, the rover would be used to watch the quarterback. This position did not catch on in the NFL because players were too skilled to be only concentrating on one opposition player. The loss of a skilled defender on another player who was not in possession of the ball would put the defense at a disadvantage. The concept of a rover is still used; however, the player is usually assigned to watch a given position or space, rather than a particular player. Not sure if this is how Etch uses it or not.
  24. Ok....this is a suuuuuuper far fetched scenario that I would like to see play out but likely never happen. We trade picks 20 and 26 to BC for BCs 5th. BC now doesn't have a first rounder but would have two second and three third rounders. BC could then flip say 12th and 20th to Hamilton for 9th. In the end Winnipeg would have two first rounders but nothing until the 4th round, BC moves down 4 spots but get an extra lower pick at 26 and get to pick back to back and Hamilton moves down two but has early second round back to back picks at 11 and 12. Maybe a team has to throw a player in there to make it happen but in such a shallow draft I think this would be great if pulled off. But as I said likely won't. Thoughts?
