  1. I wouldn't put blame on hutch... The team in period two and three did nothing at all...they are looking good in ot.
  2. The jets are absolutely flat, they are moving so slow and for the last two periods it feels like LA has been in the Jets end 95% of the time.
  3. Good on him, family is much more important then money.
  4. Picard is much better then the garbage american guys who rotated in and out over the last few years. I would rather the club sign some guys like this and take this sort of risk rather then playing rookies and unknowns without any veteran backups to fall back on.
  5. What a way to lose, yuck if only they could of hang on for 4 more seconds to at least get a point
  6. I am glad someone else noticed this. I only watched the first two periods but dear lord it was bad. People claim Beyak is a homer but he's nowhere near as bad as those ding dongs were. They nit picked all the penalties , continually cried about Reimer being left out to dry and how he's a saviour, continued to talk about each mistake the Leafs made... it was nauseating.
  7. I don't think anything is wrong with the field size... look at Arena football and how gawdy the point totals are. I enjoy the NFL more so because the level of talent is amazing and it isn't expected that receivers are to drop balls every 2nd play....
  8. Pardy / Postma are definitely expendable...
  9. I don't get this thread... Picard is washed up and done and couldn't make our crap o-line.... yet by the Riders shedding him it will cripple their team and make them losers not making the play offs? The logic doesn't make sense.....
  10. Yeesh a guy is hurt one season and now he's accident prone and better stay healthy?
  11. Wow is all I will say... He wasn't that good last year
  12. I wouldn't compare our defense to halls last year. Hall had a great d line and a crap secondary. We have a much better secondary. Also don't forget his defense was on the field a whole lot when they had sunseri and Joseph stinking it up. I'm at least confident that with Hall we can stop the run and that his defense can actually be flexible and change.
  13. I'm ok with him... I do think we have talented guys who simply were a victim of a bad scheme.
  14. I haven't watched a lot of the game but the 3rd Islanders goal is mostly on Thorburn.... It's guys like him and Halischuk that reallly really hurt the club...
  15. Maybe Trestman can walk in to the 49ers job.... they need the help on offense and the team is extremely loaded with talent.
  16. I think a full time rb who can actually withstand contact will help.... also replacing Bryant with anyone should add at least a few more points on offense.
  17. I don't see Heatley fitting in at all.. Roy has a better chance.
  18. Trestman is good **** he will find work
  19. This team should have loads of cash ... we have the least amount of "star" players in the league next to Ottawa
  20. And to be fair, it also makes a difference what type of show it was. Many promotions have their main venue and then a secondary location where the trainees/rookies get ring time because you need the ring time to get better. Hopefully guys are trained enough that its not horrific, but it is possible to see a show and have it be a "training" show. I dont really like that from a business perspective but it happens. Years ago we used Rookies Sports Bar for that. it was where I first started booking (and my partner booked the main shows). But we had a handful of rookies who didnt appear on the main shows and sprinkled in a few veterans. A really good veteran can make a green as grass trainee look passable and still teach him how to work in front of a crowd. That should be the goal on "training shows" It was a country show featuring The Honky Tonk Man.... I watched a decent amount of local wrestling... I know not everyone will be ripped or jacked... but when you have a 120 lbs guy trying to be like the Ultimate Warrior or when you have guys who are so bloated and out of shape that they are huffing and puffing doing one spot.... for the sake of wrestling get out of the ring. I had to help tear down the ring and carry the equipment because some of the skinny kids couldn't lift it!! Now I havn't gone to a PCW show, but the other show (name is escaping me) where they brought in Billy Gunn a lot and used lots of former stars... the non stars at least had a physique and could actually wrestle a fair amount. Mentallo in my books was more entertaining then guys like Teddy Hart or Gangrel. If you are fat and out of shape... at least have a gimmick that entertains the audience. Generic skinny little guy who falls through the ropes trying to do a lion sault, can't peform a proper suplex, and who struggle to even perform a basic fireman carry should not be in the ring at all.....
  21. I do agree that wrestling takes a lot of training... It was obvious watching guys botch spots one after another and it made for some ugly viewing.
  22. Well the level of talent that I saw was really bad and had I went in the ring I would of probably been in the top 3 shape despite not hitting a gym in years. It was really bad. The same can be said for mma/boxing.. I went to an old Gladiator card and remember seeing an obese guy from a reserve boxing against a guy on the Canadian national team and was absolutely destroyed. Anyone could get into the ring/cage if they want to.
