Nope, I'm the one misremembering. I'm just plain old wrong. He won his first of 3 Grey Cups with CGY, but all 3 MOOL followed signing with the Bombers.

Stanley Bryant has won 3 MOOL (should have been 4), but his first came while playing for CGY. Still, he has won twice (and been robbed once) and is a 4-time All-Star as a Bomber. Going into his 8th season with us now and he isn't even done stacking up awards yet. Shoe-in first ballot candidate when it's his time. Wade Miller likely does deserve some form of recognition. On the field he defied expectations by setting (and holding for some time) records for STT. Off the field he lead the charge in restoring and rebuilding the culture around the team. But it should wait til he's no longer associated with team management or risk looking a little too self-congratulatory. O'sh get's a friggin statue or I'm rioting

If Grey made more than $115k in 2021 (I cant find his salary but he was off his entry contract as of 2021) then we had at least one backup making more than Bighill thanks to his passport. I don't mean to single any one player out, I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, and Grey is theoretically 1 injury away from being our 7th Canadian so he may be a starter very soon. I just think Bighill (and others) might deserve more

I hear you guys. To be clear if nothing changed with the ratio I'd obviously be fine with that, too. I'm arguing for more money for imports, less for backup Canadian OL and LB just cuz they're Canadian. I trust everyone follows this logic by now, even if they don't agree with me. I'm glad Speed brought up Bighill, he is a fantastic example. Which backup Canadian deserves more than him... on merit alone, and not nationality. There is none.

Demski too. Who would have ever guessed home town heroes putting up numbers in starting roles would sell lots of jerseys. Whitehead is an exciting import talent that isn't even on our team anymore, I want more Whiteheads getting opportunities in our league is ultimately my point, more money to go around on imports could conceivably do that. You insist the money would only go to QBs, I disagree. Get over it.

Our rules are what make the Canadian game superior to 4 down football. Nobody is tuning in because they are pumped to see Jesse Briggs average a tackle a game. I bet there are still more Lucky Whitehead jerseys in the stands than there ever will be Geoff Grey jerseys. CanCon is important to the game but we are an exciting product because of our rules, not our passports.

I don't agree that it would only lead to further overpaying QBs... good GMs will continue to be good GMs, spending evenly and appropriately while benefiting from having more money to spend on potentially better import talent... bad GMs will continue to be bad GMs and overpay out of desperation, import or otherwise I think eliminating the ratio entirely is plainly a bad idea. Reducing it by as much as half could be a very good idea. I doubt we'll ever find out though.

Watched this breakdown about Hernandez the other day. Jomboy has the best baseball videos. He says if the union won't let them fire him then stick him at 3rd where he won't see that much action because he is brutal behind the plate.

I suppose it's possible... an odd sort of inside joke, if that is the case. DT isn't the only one seeming to criticize the hire, so to me it's one of those 'where there is smoke there is fire' situations. Oh well, he's not our problem for the time being.
