  1. VAJ has a guarantee for the 2026 season so cutting him would be costly. Trade is the only way out of the hole they put themselves in.
  2. Didn't look like Hatcher was waving in the trainer's as much as he was just twitching after taking a big hit. Right call to pull him.
  3. Plus Mace actually got them to win a game after Labour Day - that's worthy of a statue in Regina.
  4. Yep, before they vote, the media should go back and read some of the stuff from mid-August. It was the same story the whole season and when you look at how many passes he threw (at least 120 pass attempts more than any other QB), it's not a surprise he put up big numbers this year. https://3downnation.com/2024/08/14/opinion-hamilton-tiger-cats-made-right-choice-benching-bo-levi-mitchell-for-taylor-powell/
  5. Just updated by the Bombers... thought there'd be more sold TBH. The said there was about 3k left a few days ago so that's not far from where they are at now.
  6. My picks (with admittedly Blue tinted glasses on) and why: MOP - Brady. For all the BLM talk, we shouldn't forget that he/the team was so bad in August that he lost his job as the starter. If Powell doesn't almost immediately get 6 gamed, we're not even having this discussion. Kudos for him on a bounce back season that I didn't think he was capable of anymore but there were negatives too. MODP - Beverette. Not buying into the Milligan hype. MOC - Brady. Good year for IAB but he's surrounded by a great defense. Brady is the premiere Canadian in the league and to do what he did, given the struggles our o-line had most of this year, it's very impressive MOOL - Hunter. F the Riders, that's why. 😂 MOSTP - Whyte. Could be a toss up. Tempted to go with Janarion but I feel like he cooled off after a very hot start to the season. The flipside for me is that Whyte, while impressive at 94.3% gets the benefit of kicking in a dome for half the year. I'd like to see what his numbers at home are vs his numbers when playing away. MOR - Bridges. Impressive rookie season that could have been even better if he didn't miss the last few games. COTY - Maas. The Al's ended last season hot & kept it going this season. Had 1st place locked up by a country mile. Not giving Mace the award just because the Riders finally managed to win a game after Labour Day.
  7. Luckily for the Riders, they got him to redo his contract in January so he's already under contract for 2025. I don't buy into the MOP hype but he had a good season and definitely could have cashed in as a FA this off-season.

  9. Is it actually a rule though? From their own press release in August, the CFL says the CC can overturn a call that was clearly and obviously wrong. I thought this one was pretty clear that it was an interception and a quick review would have shown that. I think part of the problem (at least this season) is they decided mid-season to change how the CC is supposed to work. To me, that should have been an off-season decision so they could have given the officials/coaches time to adjust and all get on the same page. https://press.cfl.ca/command-centre-operations-refocus-on-clear-and-obvious-principle
  10. On slow motion replay it looked like maybe the ball was sliding down his chest a tiny bit (very iffy at best) but that's about it. No way the refs on the field could see that in real time. The CC should have stepped in.
  11. He was on the PR but he signed a futures contract for next season so no FA for him.
  12. Plus the Riders have some guy named Milligan - I heard a bit of media chatter about him and he's apparently quite the player & is going to win every CFL award. But really though, this is my thinking as well. The Lions have not shown that they can play well at this time of year when playing outdoors so until they do, I'm hesitant to pick them to win. And if I'm wrong, it means the Riders lost so I'm good either way.

  14. I had the same thought. Killing the clock was the right call but had they not taken the timeout and allowed so much time to pass, they would have been able to get the punt off before the wind blew in.
  15. I'll see if I can find individual team breakdowns but on the whole, 2024 league attendance was 0.6% lower than 2019 (his 2nd full season as commissioner) so it's fairly close to the same. For sure, I mean Edmonton had a bigger drop in gate revenue than they did in attendance so it looks like they gave away more tickets than before just to get butts in the seats. Every team does this though, so all those numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt.
  16. You sure about that? The CFL had it's best year since the pandemic so in terms of attendance from last year to this year, here's what each team did. You can tell which teams have been successful on the field and which have not over the last few seasons. BC - up 15.8% Edmonton - down 17.3% Calgary - down 0.7% Saskatchewan - up 0.1% Winnipeg - up 2.5% Toronto - up 5.7% Ottawa - up 0.1% Hamilton - down 3.8% Montreal - up 20% https://3downnation.com/2024/10/28/cfl-regular-season-attendance-grows-1-percent-from-2023-to-2024/
  17. After his involvement with the Chad Kelly incident, I can't see the BOG wanting Pinball as the face of the league. I certainly don't.
  18. Maybe they prefer sheep?
  19. The fact they had that playing on the screens at Mosaic is fantastic.
  20. Completely flat in the first half and doesn't look like it's going to change in the 2nd half, at least on defense. Offense needs to change that.
  21. Christmas came early for @SpeedFlex27
  22. I still expect similar game time management as last week for them. They want the confidence but they don't want to get needlessly banged up either - they already lost the starting RT last week and his replacement is a GTD so they don't want to add to that list.
  23. Lineup notes: The Alouettes will be making a handful of changes ahead of this game. They’ll be welcoming Austin Mack, Walter Fletcher, Brock Gowanlock and Theo Grant back in the lineup. Receiver Tyjon Lindsey will be making his Alouettes debut. He’ll be handling return duties with James Letcher Jr. sitting out this week. Josh Donovan, who appeared to suffer a lower-body injury in last Saturday’s game against the B.C. Lions, won’t be in the lineup. He’s been placed on the one-game injured list. Defensive end Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund is also out. Heading into this final game of the season, Adeyemi-Berglund leads the team in quarterback sacks, with seven. Star defensive tackle Mustafa Johnson will miss his third straight game. He’s second on the team in sacks, with three. Offensive tackle Jamar McGloster, who replaced Donovan in B.C., is considered a game-time decision for this game. The veteran was the starter at right tackle in the second half of last season and the Grey Cup, but he’s been limited to one game due to a back injury. https://en.montrealalouettes.com/2024/10/25/preview-wpg-at-mtl-week-21/
