  1. Whelp, results aside (the problems this team has have been and will be beaten to death), my boys had a blast at the game yesterday. The crowd was into it so they got the full whiteout experience, and my older son especially couldn't wipe the grin off his face for most of the first period just looking at the spectacle of it all. From that aspect, last night was a success.

It was a chain restaurant that was across North America so not really special to only Winnipeg.

I was surprised that Gasthaus Gutenburger wasn't on the list.  That place is sorely missed and Winnipeg definitely could use a real german restaurant.

    Anyone try Sam's on Ness?

3DN did a live 2 round mock draft yesterday and I thought it was a good listen.  They had Hodge, Abbott & Ben Grant each picking for 3 teams over the first two rounds.  It was interesting for me since we now have a better idea about NFL prospects and the fact that they were picking against each other, it forced them to change their picks on the fly if someone they had lined up was taken as GM's would in real life.

    Here's how they picked:

    Round 1

    1) Edmonton - Joel Dublanco (Hodge)

    2) Ottawa - Kevin Mital (Grant)

    3) Saskatchewan - Geoffrey Cantin-Arku (Abbott)

    4) Calgary - Nathaniel Dumoulin-Dugay (Hodge)

    5) Toronto - Kyle Hergl (Grant)

    6) BC - Benjamin Labrosse (Abbott)

    7) Hamilton - Daniel Opoko (Grant)

😎 Winnipeg - George Una (Hodge)

    9) Montreal - Christy Nkannu (Abbott)

    Round 2

    10) Edmonton - Nick Mardner (Hodge)

    11) Ottawa - Gabe Wallace (Grant)

    12) Saskatchewan - Luke Brubacher (Abbott)

    13) Calgary - Tyson Hergott (Hodge)

    14) Calgary - Christophe Beaulieu (Hodge)

    15) BC - John Bosse (Abbott)

    16) Hamilton - Kevens Clercius (Grant)

    17) Winnipeg - Theo Benedet (Hodge)

    18) Edmonton - Michael Chris-Ike (Hodge)

    19) BC - Nick Wiebe (Abbott)

    20) Winnipeg - Dhel Duncan-Busby (Hodge)

I was reading the parentheses as College, and was wondering where Hodge University was.🤦‍♂️

SLC really isn't that much of a move. Just a little bit north, but still the same general area. Still shitty desert hockey.... Just with more wives allowed.

All you need is 1000 men interested in hockey and you should fill the arena with spouses alone!

He'll go into the ring of honour at some point soon. They'll want to capitalize on his popularity.

But, locals are not more important than random Americans.

I can't tell if the reactions are disagreeing with your premise, or maybe missed the sarcasm. Because based on your posting history, I am assuming you agree with me that locals are absolutely more important, especially for marketing reasons. The "Harris/Demski  local boys bring the Grey Cup home" storyline was everything.

I think this is more and more common since Covid and with shows moving between networks and streamers.

I'm watching American Rust and there was 3 years between seasons 1 and 2.

How is season 2? The first wasn't reviewed that well but I didn't mind it.
