Game 41 : Half Way @ Half Baked

Little-Ehlers-Morrissey, Lowry-Armia-Byfuglien? Two good combinations of scoring punch and possession ability. -
Wouldn't mind seeing Glenn back here. Our backup situation turned out to be not so great towards the end of the year.

Missed tackles and those big breakdowns where a receiver has no defender anywhere near him. Way too many of those plays.

Every team gives up lots of high quality chances in OT. That's just the way 3v3 is played right now. Maybe it is more often for the Jets... but maybe not. -
Is it? I was going to say it's a nice mix of youth and experience. It was important that Mike Sherman bring in CFL guys and he's done that.
-
Did he lose his mojo after leaving Toronto? His 2015 season in Hamilton was pretty remarkable, although it was only 12 games.

Never said it was impossible to overcome. They are simply challenges. Every constraint placed on the schedule makes it harder to create. You'd still be dealing with a 3 hour time difference for Calgary and Edmonton too.
-
Good move for Sask. Their new starting QB for a second round pick. He will bounce back.

There would be some logistical challenges with Halifax. There are no direct flights from Halifax to BC but if they could charter a plane it is still a seven hour flight. If Halifax is playing BC at home at 7 pm, in Vancouver it will be 3 pm. Likewise if Halifax plays at 7 pm in BC, it will be 11 pm back home. Bad for the fans and bad for the players who basically have to play in the middle of the night. It's not just a coincidence that the Eastern teams have always struggled in BC... even when Montreal was good. Obviously Halifax would only deal with the BC issue twice a year but the problem would still be there for the other Western teams, just to a lesser extent. Is there enough real interest in Halifax? Is there anyone that will own the team and support it and not abandon it at the first sign of trouble? Is it really worth it to expand to Halifax just for sentimental reasons?

No push ever happens "on its own".

Because he is damn good in the ring and he is built like a Greek god. The fans are starting to come around on Roman (Reigns vs Joe was incredible last night) and they'll come around on Jordan too. It's not like he is being cast as a face right now. His character, the whiny entitled son, is one that is easy to hate and I'm sure WWE knows this. They are setting something up. But 2018 might just be the Year of Jason Jordan.

Yeah I also heard of a law in some state where they can pay you less than minimum wage if you don't work 40 hours a week, so some unscrupulous business owners were making 39.5 hour schedules for their employees. I don't know if that is still a law.

Yeah Colorado is the "weak link" in the Central division and they still have a .500 record and a positive goal differential. Tough divvy. 6 points in 23 games for Duchene since he arrived. 18 points in 23 games for Turris in Nashville. Oh yeah the Sens also gave up their first rounder this year, their 3rd rounder in 2019, Andrew Hammond, and Shane Bowers who was their first round pick in 2017. Disastrous trade. -
A career hot streak in the AHL, though. What's that worth? Is someone giving up a first rounder for goalie depth? I don't think any playoff team is going to come calling with the intention of Hutch being their starter. I really don't know what to expect. I don't think we get a first rounder but I'm always baffled by what teams are willing to give up at the deadline so maybe we do.

I know the Manitoban minimum wage has almost doubled in the last 15 years so that doesn't really hold water here. I understand the pace of minimum wage growth in the States has been much smaller so that's where a lot of that probably comes from.

I think we can all start accepting the reality that Richie Hall is coming back.

Finn as a heel would work much better than Gallows and Anderson as faces, IMO. Apparently Wrestle Kingdom was being advertised in commercial breaks last night, which seems crazy. I didn't see it but I wasn't watching closely during commercials... it also may have been only in the US.

Something ironic about quoting the movie you're criticizing so heavily...

VGK has some scoring punch. James Neal has scored 40 in a season, Marchessault scored 30 last year, David Perron and Reilly Smith have both been over 25. The expansion draft was kinder to VGK than any previous expansion team... they got some legit players.
-
Florida gifted Vegas Jonathan Marchessault, Reilly Smith, and Gerard Gallant. Without that trio we're looking at a very different team. I hope VGK sent Florida a Christmas card. William Karlsson going from fringe 3rd liner to star top six player helps too

Yeah I've found that the more hardcore a Star Wars fan is, the less they liked the movie. I am very casual, I have never read a Star Wars book or anything like that, and I thought it was okay... I gave it a 7/10 coming out of the theatre. I just thought the comedy was lame.
-
Oh also the Bullet Club reunited last night... Balor, Gallows and Anderson. Not sure if that was just a one-night thing but thought it was worth mentioning...

Lita, Trish Stratus, and Beth Phoenix are three legends that come to mind who may be interested. There is also buzz around Ronda Rousey not just as a participant but possibly the winner. They should have tried to keep Emma and Summer Rae around just a little longer. Eva Marie would be an amazing addition for some serious heat but I don't know if that is a real possibility.

Asuka Bayley Sasha Banks Becky Lynch Tamina Alicia Fox Lana Ruby Riott Sarah Logan Liv Morgan Paige Mandy Rose Sonya Deville Natalya Carmella Naomi Dana Brooke Nia Jax Mickie James There are your 19 active non-champion women. I'd bring in Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Ember Moon, and Nikki Cross from NXT as well. That's 23. Still seven spots...
