  1. I think it's natural for people to worry about themselves first. For men, the scary part of all this is the idea of someone destroying your life based on a false accusation. It is relatively unlikely to happen, but it could. And if women are standing up for women's rights, and men are standing up for women's rights, who is protecting men's rights? Is it selfish to think this way? Yeah, it is... totally. But it's also natural. I don't think it does any good to belittle and demonize men who are concerned about it. It's a valid concern based on the court system's treatment of men in domestic disputes, divorce, and child custody, where the woman is presumed to be in the right, and the man in the wrong. The pendulum swings heavily in favour of women in these cases and men are afraid that it's going the same way in cases of sexual harassment, assault, and rape. I wouldn't make the same argument, but I empathize with the men who do, rather than try to make them into monsters for being worried.
  2. I don't get it either.
  3. Considering it. http://www.ckom.com/syn/648/180456/180456 I disagree with this... pretty strongly. GMs don't really know. They can make an educated guess but even now, with the NFL draft falling before the CFL draft, you have players who make it in the NFL unexpectedly. There would be more of those cases, without question. Now, is that enough to outweigh the benefits of moving the season up? I'm not sure. I don't think so. I'd like to see them expand the season by one week so we can avoid some of the schedule ugliness from this year, and also move it up by 2 weeks. They could still hold the draft in early May after the NFL draft, it would just give GMs less time to sign players and get them in camp.
  4. Yeah concussion.
  5. I don't put the loss on Comrie by any means but yeah he's not ready for the big league. He made some really nice saves though.
  6. Comrie bends like Gumby!
  7. 3rd line chipping in tonight!
  8. Probably out late last night with Florida beach babes
  9. Taman didn't really become the full GM until 2004 I believe. That year the receivers were Stegall-Peterson-Gordon-Stokes-Stoddard. And some others. So that's the baseline he is working with. 2004: Stegall-Peterson-Gordon-Stokes-Stoddard 2005: Stegall-Peterson-Brazzell-Stokes-Stoddard 2006: Stegall-Brazzell-Andrae Thurman-Quentin McCord-Stoddard. But Arjei Franklin was also drafted this year and Armstrong came back late. 2007: Stegall-Armstrong-Edwards-Stoddard/Franklin/O'Neill Wilson. 2008: Stegall-Armstrong-Edwards-Bryant-Franklin. They definitely got a lot better between 2004 and 2008... 2005 in particular was painful, but by 2006 it was decent, and then all-star level from 2007-08. 2009: Edwards-Bowman-Bryant/Titus Ryan/Otis Amey/Dudley Guice Jr-Brock Ralph. Lol.
  10. No, no, that's Barack Obama.
  11. Not only that but Hall wasn't officially announced as the replacement until late January.
  12. Yep that's what Sting has too. And still has because surgery would end his career and he wants to leave the door open for another match or two. At least that's what I've read. That's too bad about Sheamus. I hope he is able to get better but the history of that particular injury in wrestling is not good.
  13. I'm guessing Michael Landsberg
  14. I don't see how anyone who is going after the Republicans/Hollywood creeps could possibly dislike this decision. Franken has proven himself to be a creep and stepping down is the right thing to do. Whether he has stood up for women's rights or anything else is irrelevant. Being good to 100,000 women doesn't give someone the right to harass or assault one woman.
  15. It's not. But I mean really... come on.
  16. Fact check time. Comrie all-time NHL pre-season record: 2017 - Didn't play. 2016 - One start. 21/24. 2015 - Played one period. 10/12.
  17. Neil McKinley was never a starting MLB.... he may have started a game or two due to injury but I'm not even sure that ever happened. I know there was the Lumsden game where McKinley got destroyed repeatedly but I can't remember if he started it or just came in after someone got hurt. Either way... not a starter.
  18. I think it's a great idea to start Comrie, I just didn't think Maurice would actually do it. Let's see what the kid can do.
  19. Yeah like I said I agree that the majority are probably genuine. But the scientician in me doesn't like the made-up numbers being touted as fact by news agencies and otherwise. It is a guess, nothing more. Literally just a guess.
  20. I mostly agree with you but the "false rate" is impossible to know. I hate it when these news agencies use invented numbers like this. Unless you know the absolute truth of every situation, there is no way to come up with the percentage that are false or genuine. I don't doubt the vast majority are legitimate, but to put a number to it is disingenuous because no one really knows.
  21. Definitely from Morweena.... but it barely qualifies as a village... Arborg is the "big city" right nearby
  22. Didn't he get in trouble for assault a long time ago??? Or was that another TSN guy? I'm talking way back like 15 years or more.
  23. I don't think Comrie is going to start any games.
  24. As you post on a sports message board.
  25. Sure whatever helps you sleep at night.
