Honestly I just feel bad for Nak when the crowd doesn't react and I do feel like the language barrier is hurting him. He's a hell of a wrestler... him vs Sami Zayn at the pre-WM NXT Takeover in 2016 (or was it 2017?) remains one of the best matches I've ever seen.
-
He did, at the end of the promo. They fought a little bit and then Nak stood up and declared that it would be a "LAUSCHT MONNN SHTUNNNDDDINGG!" match to utter silence from the crowd. But even when he said Pillow Fight I had no idea what he said until AJ repeated him... and again, silence from the crowd. I don't hate the idea of cutting some promos in Japanese. Asuka was doing that during the mixed tag tourney with The Miz and she comes across so much stronger when she's allowed to speak her own language.

Why do you care? You're not a Jets fan, **** off

It was shocking to me that they wouldn't play Collaros last night. That's what you do with a long-time veteran... not your shiny new acquisition who has struggled for a year or more. Even if it's just one or two series... get him in there. He needs reps.
-
It's not that I have any problem with someone having an accent or being clearly a non-native speaker... it's more that I literally can't understand what they are saying. A week or two ago, Shinsuke cut a promo on the stipulation for his and AJ's match at Money in the Bank and I honestly had no clue what the stipulation was. I simply couldn't understand what he said. The same thing happened when Asuke lost to Charlotte. She said something and I had no clue what it was. Certainly with Shinsuke, the mouthguard isn't doing him any favours either. And you can tell when they hit a line in a promo and the crowd is dead silent because they're all thinking... "What did he/she say??" Of course both are hugely over right now, so it's probably a minor thing. But as more Japanese wrestlers come over... they can't all be doing the "no speak English" bit.
-
Yeah it's annoying. They went into last night's game with the intent to showcase Duron Carter's abilities on defence and they did that... but they tend to tell the story they want to rather than the reality... they weren't highlighting any of Carter's screw-ups but they go nuts when he makes one tackle. "WELL THERE'S THE PHYSICALITY, HE CAN OFFICIALLY DO IT ALL!!!"
-
The problem with Japanese wrestlers like Asuka and Shinsuke, and presumably Shirai now as well, is that they can't speak English. I can never understand what they are saying. Great wrestlers sure... but that's only half the battle. If you are incapable of delivering a promo then how can you really be a professional wrestler?

I like Perreault but he is an undersized 30 year old 40-point player who tends to miss 10-20 games per season with injury. We (all fans) tend to overrate our own players. I'm not saying it would be impossible to move him but players like him simply aren't in high demand. That's just reality.

Riders have a couple good backs in Zac Stacy and Marcus Thigpen but their ratio depends on Messam starting at RB... they just don't have the talent to start a Canadian anywhere else.
-
Standard ACL recovery is 6-8 months. They expect Lulay to be ready within the first couple weeks of the season.
-
Sounds like some of the newcomers are starting to push for spots as both Marcus Sayles and Tyneil Cooper have had some reps wit the starting defence today in place of Fogg and Alexander.
-
I believe he is injured. He may end up starting this year but who knows? He has barely played and wasn't great when he did.
-
Bagg - 33, Brouillette - 32, Clark - 30, Evans - 27, Hurl - 28, Labatte - 32, Messam - 33. That is an old core of Canadians. And their best prospects Cam Judge, Dariusz Bladek and Josiah St. John aren't exactly beating down the door to take roster spots.
-
Maybe. The cap crunch likely won't hit us this offseason, but next offseason when Wheeler's deal is up. And Myers will be a UFA then anyways. Those Perreault and Little contracts are big roadblocks towards keeping all our young players and they're the ones that will be hardest to move.
-
Good luck moving Perreault, Myers, etc.

Fajardo is in BC

Like I said he could very well be back at SAM and Fenner plays HB. We'll have to wait til he is healthy to find out.
-
He played some halfback with the Lions. The media seem to be speculating that he will play HB here but I think the plan for him is to play dime and Leggett will be playing HB. We'll see.
-
Anthony Gaitor is new and has been practicing with the starters at halfback. Also keep in mind Leggett will be returning and either him or Fenner will be taking an HB spot... likely Fogg's.
-
It feels like Nevis or Neufeld are the guys this year. Outside chance to Anthony Gaitor or Steven Clarke.
-
I guess we'll find out. I'm just saying that salary is getting eaten up elsewhere and there won't necessarily be room to pay all our prospects... good, young players are going to be traded away. I'd be okay with moving Perreault but would there be any trade partners? I'm not so sure.

Brown's okay. Walby is the cream of the crop. Wouldn't mind a Brown and Walby show actually.
-
So strange all these people who want to "take it to the PMs" but I look in my inbox and it's empty??? Almost like it's all for show or something. Ah well.
-
If you wanted it in PM then why didn't you PM me? Oh it was to publicly get your shot in... got it. Okay for you to do it, but wrong when I do it.

29 points in 79 games.... comparable players signing as RFAs are all making in that range. Connor Brown, Melker Karlsson, Radek Faksa, Riley Sheahan. All in the 30 point range, all 2M+.
