Just in case you haven't seen it yet...

I like it, because I just don't see the downside. Ownership has deep pockets, they can afford to eat the salary if things turn sour. Shows loyalty to employees and will help in attracting front office and coaching staff in the future.

Then the jury is still out on Norman as well because he played an incredibly limited amount at guard. And he was absolutely terrible for part of that time as well.

Of course hindsight is 20/20 but here are some names we passed on, and who we took instead. Not saying we should have taken these guys, just pointing out which currently contributing OL we had a shot at. May have missed a couple. 2010 - Ryan Bomben (4th round, MTL backup G), Patrick Neufeld (5th round, Sask starter G/T), Adam Baboulas (6th round, BC backup G) - Took Woodson and Chris Smith earlier. 2011 - Alex Krausnick (4th round, Edm starter C) - Took Swiston and Dunn ahead of him. 2012 - Matt Norman (3rd round, BC starter C/G), Mike Filer (5th round, Ham backup C/G), Ryan White (6th round, Mtl PR tackle) - Took Bilukidi ahead of Norman; Stephan and Thomas ahead of Filer and White. 2013 - Brett Jones (2nd round, Cgy starter C) - Took Mulumba and Robertson ahead of him.

4 years of Mack Drafting (by position) OL - 4 (Greaves, Dunn, Swiston, Pencer) Rec - 7 (Watson, Etienne, Mahoney, Poblah, Aprile, DiCroce, Alli) RB - 2 (Woodson, Volny) FB - 1 (Fitzgerald) DL - 3 (Thomas, Bilukidi, Mulumba) LB - 3 (C. Smith, Muamba, Stephan) DB - 1 (Robertson) P/K - 1 (Pavlopolous)

I just mean firing him right now. The season is a write-off, so let him wear all the stink until it's over. I'm 100% in favour of firing him after the season.

One of the most feared things in sports is the development of a losing culture. One in which the players believe they are going to lose. It's not easy to change once it is in effect... and it sure looks like that has happened here. Firing Burke won't change anything at this point. There's going to have to be a wholesale change of players and coaching staff this offseason. Too much losing associated with the players here, even the good ones. Everyone knows we need to rebuild but the sad thing is that the rebuild hasn't even begun yet and won't until the offseason. Sure we have shuffled some players around, but it's really nothing but window dressing. Marc Parenteau and Akeem Foster were never going to turn this team around. Hopefully Walters or whoever becomes GM is ready to take on a big task, because it's not going to happen overnight.

Lulay out for two weeks - we may face Buck!

Really depends how Demarco does this week. -
IMO starting Volny at RB would have the least negative effects

I agree with Blueandgold, we need to bring in Cleo Lemon

I don't like it! It's not good to hold back your anger all the time. Some fences could use a few holes!

lol you're so ridiculous

Burke's comments on what Hervey said about Rottier
Atomic replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think both are equally likely. It wasn't necessarily Mack telling Burke he can't fire any coaches, that may have been coming from higher up... i.e. we have no money, do not fire any coaches. Remember him publicly questioning whether he would be allowed to hire a running backs coach because he wasn't sure if it was in the budget? Pretty clear he wasn't granted total control over hiring and firing whoever he wanted. -
Are those guys any more dangerous than Dressler? Besides that the Bombers zone defense is the worst thing in history and I wouldn't want to watch a game of that again. Stamps is better than Dressler IMO, and Dressler wasn't at full health last week anyways. Adarius Bowman brings something different to the table in that he is very hard to bring down. Our DB's have struggled with tackling at times, that's more of my worry there.

Should be interesting to see what we do on defence. We played a lot of man coverage against the Riders but I'm not sure how much man coverage I would want to play against Fred Stamps and Adarius Bowman... good recipe for getting burned.

I'm guessing Foster will be on the 4 man reserve this week

How do you know he was given any authority to hire and fire coaches? I'd like to think he was, but with this team you never know. -

Bombers moving to the West next year

what? They asked to move to the West? What? It makes sense. Why would the CFL want them to move to the west? What does it matter to them? Either way you have five teams in one division. -
Burke's comments on what Hervey said about Rottier
Atomic replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
You don't think saying things like "Demond Washington will never return punts for us again" or calling one of his quarterbacks a "turnover machine" is burying a guy? Fair point but the difference is that Burke was asked about those guys, and everyone knew they had played poorly. There's no covering up a returner fumbling twice or a QB throwing multiple redzone interceptions. Nobody asked Hervey about Rottier and the average fan probably has no idea whether Rottier played poorly in relation to the rest of the offensive line. Hervey made a point of singling out Rottier when no one had ever asked about him. Not trying to excuse Burke here, just pointing out the difference between the two situations. -
Bombers moving to the West next year

Paul Wiecek @PaulWiecek6m The Bombers didn't get paid to move West because they asked to move. If they'd insisted on being paid, league would have had them stay East.
