Wow what a goal in OT. Talk about a good bounce. Missing the top 4 D kinda showed tonight but they obviously played well enough to win. I think they go back to Pavelec at home on Monday. Great win tonight.

I can't help but be reminded of a couple years back when the Jets were playing well and went into a back to back with a division rival (Washington) and got stomped, which was the turning point of the season. Hoping this goes better...

Its too bad he is so small. It will not be an easy road for him. I hope it works out though.
-
I would say yes, but he is still behind Forsberg who is putting up a point per game and leading the league in plus minus (for whatever that's worth). Hutch will have to firmly usurp the starting job AND continue to put up fantastic numbers in order to have a real shot.
-
Gotta start Hutch on the road against Minnesota. You just gotta!
-
That's what I was wondering.

I think you're right. That's why we have been able to extend so many players this off-season. We definitely have some money to spend in free agency. But you still have to spend it wisely.

I'll be really surprised if Green doesn't re-sign in Montreal. I heard Jackson has some NFL interest. He showed some great stuff last year but over a very short time period. He'd be a good guy to get in here but if he stays in the CFL, someone will overpay for him and I don't think it will be the Bombers. Walters did overpay last year when he brought Moore. I'm not saying the Bombers will do that again. But you never know, Willy might want to reconnect with one of his top receivers in UB. That's exactly why I think they wouldn't do it again. Can't blow all your cash on one position group.

It's great to see all our core Canadians getting locked into extensions now.

That was Punk vs. Cena on Raw and it was one of the best matches I've seen in the last few years. Really makes me wish Punk would just go back to wrestling.

Brutal giveaway by Jay Harrison on the final goal. Pav had absolutely no help in the third.

Flyers are starting Rob Zepp in goal. It will be his NHL debut

Did anyone go to WWE last night? IMO it wasn't as good as last year but it was still pretty great. Final match, street fight between Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt was excellent. Really disappointed in no Ziggler, Miz, or Mizdow but I guess you can't expect too much out of a house show.

Jones would be one of the smallest OL in the NFL. I wish the guy good luck as he'll need it. But I can't blame the guy for trying. The vast majority of NFL centers are between 6'2 and 6'4 and 300-325 pounds. At 6'2 318 Brett Jones would fit right in.

I guess that depends what you mean by winning consistently. He won the Grey Cup in 2011 and the Lions are 33-21 since then. Regardless of Benevides being fired I'd still say that is winning pretty consistently.
-
He never got a legitimate chance here. I still believe he will be a CFL player.

How could you possibly put a price tag on the value Byfuglien brings to the Jets? A forward that can drop back and play over 27 minutes as the number one defenceman. Scheifele and Lowry are both really coming into their own. The scoring will come for Lowry but for now he is playing a great 3rd line center role. Scheifele is starting to look dangerous again after a bit of a scoring slump earlier this season. Pardy and Postma had some trouble as the 3rd pairing. Postma got just over 11 minutes. But they get a pass for tonight. Hutchinson just makes the big time saves. I don't know if it's the real deal or if he is just on a lucky/hot streak. He just always seems to be able to get his body in front of everything, even though it's not pretty sometimes. Overall I'm really happy about that win. The team needed this one to maintain their confidence... they're not out of the woods yet.

Jets Trade 6th Rounder for D - Jay Harrison
Atomic replied to Jpan85's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Harrison was the #7 dman on one of the worst teams in the league. Wheres this love coming from? He's the gum plugging up a hole in a dam. #7? He was eating up top 4 minutes on a line with John-Michael Liles. -
This exactly what they invented the Atomic bomb for

Might be the only one (haven't read through the whole thread yet) but this is the reason I don't want Bene here. Be too easy for the Bombers to make him HC and he sucked as a HC. In what way did he suck? Not that I want him as head coach, but he did pretty good win/loss wise. BC 2012 13 5 0 .722 1st in West Division 0 1 Lost in West Final BC 2013 11 7 0 .611 3rd in West Division 0 1 Lost in West Semi-Final BC 2014 9 9 0 .500 4th in West Division 0 1 Lost in East Semi-Final Yep, took a grey cup winning team and got progressively worst the next few seasons Hard to say that Wally did him any favours though. He let their Canadian talent languish to the point that they are near the bottom of the league in that regard, particularly on the offensive line. He also clung to old Americans for a little too long... basically telling Benevides that if those guys were good enough to win a Grey Cup in 2011, then they should be good enough for Benevides for the next 3 years. Very inactive in terms of roster management. I'm not trying to make excuses for Benevides because he bears part of the responsibility as well. But Wally shouldn't get a free pass just because he is Wally Buono.

A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks "Why the long face?" The horse neither speaks nor understands English, because it is a horse. It is spooked by a loud noise and knocks over several tables, injuring two loyal bar patrons. Eventually it is able to find the door in its confusion and gallops out into the street. The bartender calls Animal Control and they track down the horse a short time later and are forced to put it down, due to the injuries it caused. Somewhere, off in the distance, a dog howls wistfully at the moon.

I'm not a big Landsberg fan but I can appreciate what he does and he is usually pretty good at maintaining the "upper hand" in interviews that get a little confrontational. But I thought Punk absolutely took him to school in that one. I love the way Punk handled it. As far as UFC goes, I don't really watch it but I would watch Punk's first fight for sure. I bet he can hold his own.

Really interesting read, thanks. It's a really strong point he makes, about movie theatres not wanting to be liable for this type of thing. How can you blame them? It's not up to movie theatres to stand up to terrorists.

Canadian Greg? He has been the head coach at Western since 2007.
