  1. No way the Moose could play at the Iceplex. Might as well have them play at the St. James Civic Center.
  2. Does it? [Rogers - MacMillan - Gott - Deane - Kelly] seems like an OK line to me.
  3. Perhaps. Paredes is pretty inconsistent year-to-year. Two years below 80% and two years above 90%. Hajrullahu obviously only has one season to his name but it was 87% to Paredes' 73%.
  4. Burmi as a replacement for Frolik is a joke. Not even close to the same caliber of player.
  5. Nah he was awesome back in the day and his commentary is fantastic now.
  6. I don't know I just thought Bradshaw was great when I was younger. I thought the APA gimmick was hilarious and I loved the emphasis on hardcore matches during that time. Bradshaw was great in those matches and the clothesline from hell was such an awesome finisher. I stopped watching while he was still Bradshaw and when I started watching again I didn't realize JBL was the same guy for months.
  7. Going to be very disappointed if we lose both Stafford and Frolik. We don't have the depth to absorb those losses and the free agent market is **** this year.
  8. Yeah I blew it. I also forgot Butler and M-O Brouillette. The DB's were tough to do because it's all safeties and field corners.
  9. Favorite feud: Doink and his midget crew Dink, Pink and Wink vs Jerry Lawler and his midget crew Sleazy, Cheesy, and Queasy

  11. I actually had Greenwood on there ahead of Hurl but I thought people would freak out because he hasn't actually played in the CFL much yet. But I expect him to be a top Canadian LB this year for sure. I considered Durie but he's such a bandaid.
  12. I expect this to change drastically as the season wears on but here's how I see the "League All-Star Canadians" right now: LT: Bourke, MTL LG: Labatte, SSK C: Brodeur-Jourdain, MTL RG: Holmes, TOR RT: Federkeil, CGY REC: Getzlaf, SSK REC: Bagg, SSK REC: Kohlert, WPG REC: Fantuz, HAM REC: Gore, BC RB: Harris, BC RB: Cornish, CGY DE: Cappiciotti, OTT DT: Laurent, HAM DT: Steele, EDM DE: Foley, TOR LB: Pruneau, OTT LB: Emry, SSK LB: Hurl, WPG DB: Bucknor, WPG DB: Rwabukamba, BC DB: Hinds, EDM DB: Gabriel, TOR DB: Stephen, HAM K: Hajrullahu, WPG P: Maver, CGY Thoughts? Remember, it's easy to say a player SUCKS AND SHOULDN'T BE ON THE LIST!!!!!! but you have to offer up a name to replace him.
  13. They still have Labatte, Best, Emry, Getzlaf, Bagg, Messam... Pretty good core of Canadians.Messam and Emry are marginal or worse. And yet still better than what we have. AKA a non existent Canadian running back and Sam Hurl until proven otherwise. Gotta love the people saying Getzlaf and Bagg are on the wrong side of 30 then pointing at Picard as a reason why our Canadians are improving. Can't have it both ways. The TSN grades are fair. We have lots of potentially great Canadians but until they prove it on the field you can't expect anyone to give the Bombers anything more than a barely passable grade. yes, you can, actually... skill position players generally tend to decline after 30... while guys in the trenches, especially O-linemen, tend to still be effective into their 30s... some hogs don't peak until their early 30s... Easy to generalize like that but when you look at the facts, Bagg and Getzlaf were #1 and #4 in terms of Canadian receivers last season. Yes they have flaws but so does every Canadian in the CFL... they are still premier Canadian receivers.
  14. Could see Ottawa getting the upset here. I have no faith in Montreal's QBs.
  15. Yes but they're on the PR so effectively they will be the first ones off the bench in case of injuries.
  16. They've got just as much depth as most other teams. If you're comparing them to the Alouettes, Ticats or Stampeders, yeah they're worse and they got a worse ranking. But if you compare them to the teams below them, including BC and Winnipeg, I think it's a fair ranking. Unless you think the Bombers have fantastic depth all of a sudden But I'm not quite ready to believe that.... I think the Bombers absolutely have more depth in terms of guys that are actual CFL level players. Inexperience is a factor. Beyond their starters the Riders don't have much, and many of their starters have lost entire seasons or nearly entire seasons to injuries already in their careers. Come on! We're looking at starting Hurl, JFG, and Bucknor, now which one of those guys would start on any other team? And our depth is totally raw. Goossen, Briggs, Waggonner, D. Jones, Sherman, Bastien. These guys are "actual CFL level players" and the Riders don't have that? The Riders have their own group of players like that. Watman, Demski, Haidara, MacDougall, Vonk, Steinhauer. Equal depth and better starters means a higher grade. Everyone who thinks the Riders are going to take a dive this season are going to be pretty disappointed.

  18. I'm glad you're up to date on your reading.Right off the bat, you might notice the name Drew Edwards. The Grey Cup odds are from the same article. The rest of the mumble-jumble are bits and pieces from around the league. Nowhere am I claiming credit for any information It's odd that you think I would try to "steal" this info when it is readily out there. My only purpose was to gather information and share it with whomever was interested. Perhaps, next time, my time would be better spent waiting for you to fill the gap. If you've even paid the slightest attention to information I supply, more times than not, I've given the source. But, don't worry, it won't happen again. Is this a poem? If it is, he's a ******* brutal poet
  19. That's really more of a non-move

  22. I would have liked to see him stick around on the practice roster. Give him some reps at receiver, give him some reps at QB if one of the other 4 get injured and maybe we could see what we have. He's an athletic Canadian with an obvious mind for football. I find it weird that of our 3 Canadians on the practice roster, 2 are fullbacks. I guess it's all about special teams ability but I would like to see a Canadian skill position player developed there, Yantz or otherwise.
  23. It's an inexperienced linebacking corps and I'm not sure there is really any other way to look at it. Doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be bad but there is a definite lack of experience and that has hurt teams before.
  24. Brad Mikoluff #74. He still has eligibility for the Rifles, so if the Bombers like him, they can keep him as a non-counter all year. He is able to practise with the Bombers and play with the Rifles. It's a nice insurance deal for the Bombers because if they need a punter in a pinch, they can sign and dress him and he already knows the playbook, the players, and the coaches. This is a special deal open to all CJFL players who didn't play CIS. Each CFL team can have up to 4 local junior players in camp under this program. I suspect that the Bombers will keep both Mikoluff and Braedy Will around this year. Self edit: If he does dress for a regular season game, he loses the special status. At that point he would have to sign a contract and be a "counter". The deal is nice for teams but can be a double edged sword for the players. Braedy Will has drawn real interest from other teams but the Bombers are allowed to keep his rights without signing him to a contract. Will could possibly be earning a paycheck with another team but because of the territorial rights that the Bombers hold, they can keep him around without paying him and not have to worry about other teams offering him a deal.
