Not much for Vegas to choose from on Winnipeg's list. Overall there are a lot of quality defencemen and some good goalies out there for Vegas but they're going to have a tough time building up their forwards. Meanwhile their stockpile of prospects and picks should be absolutely massive.

So glad they decided they are going to release the protected lists.

So VGK ends up with a first-round pick, a prospect, and a pretty damn good roster player. I wonder how many other teams they can bully into deals like this.

Somewhat concerning to me is that Bridge played pretty well against us and like a raw rookie against the Lions. The Lions were able to get a much better push on the d-line. Pre-season.... yet......

I liked the Stafford signing but he did nothing in pre-season while other guys played well. I honestly believe it was an open competition between he and Denmark for a spot and Denmark just won.

JBR I wouldn't be surprised if you pretty much nailed it there, maybe aside from some injuries clearing up by the time the roster is finalized. Santos-Knox is an interesting one. Did he get any reps at MLB in preseason or just WIL? Of all the LB prospects he did seem to be the only one who stood out at all. I'd be pretty surprised if they cut Johnson and start Fogg at HB if that's what you are implying. Who do you see returning kicks on that roster?

It's a sixth rounder. Nothing to cry about. Anyways if he can switch to OL that is an intriguing prospect.

In general perhaps, but this regime has proven thus far that they cannot find an MLB and they are more than capable of finding good DB's. Play to your strengths. It's sad that "Good enough" has become the new standard around here.

I'm not trying to dispel anything. I'm just saying that people's blind hatred for Trump shouldn't override their critical thinking ability when they read an article that bashes him, just because they agree with the premise. Journalists get stuff wrong, journalists make stuff up, journalists accept money when they shouldn't accept money. Some are good and some are bad, just like any other profession. It's up to the people to decide what they want to believe.

I don't mind Johnson either. He is a little inconsistent but overall ok. But if I am playing a rookie somewhere, I'd rather put him at field HB than MLB.

Bear Woods. Unfortunately it is impossible for us to know the numbers but you can see my point. It's not about the specific players. Hurl is almost certainly making six figures or well over the minimum. You replace a couple underperforming veterans at less critical spots with rookies in order to bring in a stud MLB like Woods. "It would have been impossible due to the cap" is a loser mentality. Where there is a will there is a way.

Release Hurl, replace with Frank Renaud. Release Neufeld, replace with Zach Intzandt. Release Bruce Johnson, replace with rookie. Sign marquee MLB. Why not?

No kidding.... is anyone actually buying into him doing it for the Pens... gimme a break. Guys look out for their own careers first and foremost and that's exactly what's going on with Fleury and Enstrom... and there is nothing wrong with that. Why would anyone ever want to help a team that they would no longer be a part of anymore? Maybe in fantasyland.
