  1. All you guys & your rants against unions, specifically government unions. I'm with the Feds & I haven't had a raise in years. The government re-opened our collective agreement & changed the terms in the middle of contract. I'll never argue that we don't have good pensions, but it's not exactly like we're all living the high life on our current salaries. In all of Winnipeg you could probably count the number of employees making over $100k with just your fingers & a couple of toes. An accounting designation is required for my job & I have nine years of experience, yet I make quite a bit less than that. There are people in my office who have worked most of their life in government and are making >60k, and that's with university degrees.
  2. Sounds like Hudak is out. I don't know that I've seen an election, in a truly democratic country, with worse candidates that what you had to choose from.
  3. I watched Brohm's time in the game & I don't think he was that bad. He had a few ugly throws, but he also had to deal with the same issues Hall did. He also marched us down the field for a td. Yeah, it was called back, but the penalty had nothing to do with the pass he made.
  4. I never would have guessed you smoke pot...
  5. That's an awful trade and won't happen.. kane for neal doesn't have any legs to stand on at all... for one, we really don't have a need for neal, he's a rw, kane's a lw... buff for neal? sure but kane? i don't think so. Pens would have to add significant pieces to make that one happen. Neal can play both sides. why would chevy who wants guys who are high on character want a guy like neal, who in your post, you said, he is not well liked by basically everyone but malkin. Neal makes no sense for this team moving forward. The jets plan is to build around the young guys, not bring in a guy like neal who has inflated numbers because he plays with malkin. I didn't say nobody but Malkin liked him. Neal is still a young guy. He put up 55 points as a 23 year old with the Stars. Very similar to what Kane is doing at the same age. Difference is he's proven he can take the next step & put up all-star calibre numbers. No guarantee Kane can, with or without Malkin.

  7. I follow a lot of Penguins reporters on twitter, & they all seem to think the Pens will try to make a move for Kane. Neal being the obvious asset to get it done. I didn't realize, but it sounds like Neal's not the most popular guy in the dressing room or with team staff. Malkin loves him, but a lot of other players don't. It'll be interesting to see how much trade value he has.
  8. Disagree. This is more or less arguing for the sake of arguing b/c I don't think either will happen, but Willy has already been declared our starter. Hall hasn't been given any assurances that he'll be the backup. We gave something up to get Brohm, so there are clearly people in important positions who think highly of him.
  9. He's not even close to our worst 1st round pick ever.
  10. I'm excited to see what he can do this season as well. I don't know if this is a bounce back season for him though. I think he his bounce back was in the second half of last season. I'm prediciting both he & Moore go for 1k this season.
  11. If he's bought out, I would definitely go after him. I just wouldn't want to trade for that contract.
  12. I thought January was really good on Wednesday & Jones struggled, so naturally this is how the next practice would go...
  13. Pencer has looked rock solid thus far in his career?
  14. I think a few vet DB's may be on the bubble. Suber, Dunn, and Banks looked pretty craptastic out there. I highly doubt Banks is on the bubble, same with Suber. I'd be less surprised to see Suber cut, but I don't think either have lost their job yet.
  15. Garvin is the first name I think of. He's hopelessly out of place as a db, & he did very little as a returner. I didn't think Fraser looked bad. I'm suprised at the number of people who have singled him out.
  16. Agreed. I agree with most of the names other people are throwing out for who looked good. I'll add that I thought Morley looked good at centre. He made a big block that sprung Cotton for his big run. I also thought Neufeld looked ok at RT. IMO he looked better than Jones did. I also thought Derek Jones looked good. I'm not sure he was ever thrown at, but he always seemed to be close to his man, or at least he did when I was watching him.
  17. Which of his tweets today can be considered trolling? He's giving his opinion, which is pretty much his job.
  18. Isn't that Mike with the shades? One of my favourite gifs ever. Such a loser...
  19. Oz was really good, or at least I thought it was when I watched it back then. I'd be interested in watching it again to see how well it's held up over time.
  20. I heard we're not dressing any Canadian OL tonight.
  21. January's dad had a heart attack. That's why he wasn't on the field yesterday.
  22. I was watching camp shirtless & bathed in baby oil. I'd wink and bounce my pecs when they looked in my direction.
  23. NHL Old Boys Club working here. Not at all. He said at his press conference that he'll only be there for two or three years at most. He's basically there to mentor Jason Botterill until he's ready for the job. Botterill is only 38.
  24. I don't think it is up for debate that the Bombers were interested in both Burris and Collaros, since they made offers to both. They didn't sign either one, so whether that is "losing out" on them or not is really just a matter of semantics. This is a topic that hasn't been debated nearly enough.
  25. Watched for about an hour or so this morning: -I was sitting near the media today. Knuckles asked "Freezer" if he was going to write something postive today. They all just laughed... -Willy & Hall look significantly better than the other qbs. I thought Hall looked the best, but they were close. Like what JesseJames said, Willy had two bad underthrows to wide open receivers in the endzone, but otherwise looked ok. -I think Hall's arm looks stronger this season. It's still clearly the weakest of them all, but the other guys all have very strong arms. I thought he had decent zip on his intermediate (20ish yards) throws. Not a cannon by anyways, but very passable. -Aaron Woods does seem to be getting open, but has a weird habit of stopping & then jumping for the ball. -Nick Moore looks good. Got open on a blitz play and had nobody between him & the goal line. Would have been a long td if they finished the play -Our D looks like Montreal's did last season. They're all on the line prior to the snap. It's looks confusing... -Cotton looks fast. Thought he looked better than Grigsby, but there's not much contact on the rbs so it's hard to tell for sure -Kelly had two drops & a fumble while I was there -Robertson & another db got lit into by a coach after a td pass. I'm not sure what they did wrong though, as it was another db who was covering the guy that scored Edit: -Kim Babij-Geisel & Sarah Orlesky are fairly hot in person. -We have a lot of fatties on our coaching staff
