I'd mentioned this earlier in the thread, but I actually liked these Gold's.....soooooo much better than the brown things they're calling gold now.

Raps and Leafs are pretty much able to do what they want, but until last year at the deadline, the Jays never had much of a budget. I'm not sure what the logic is, but Rogers doesn't see fit to pump money into the Jays organization, which is a real shame for the fans.

and they don't spend **** on the Jays, normally. Last year they had a bit of budget, but the Jays don't get much from Rogers.

I totally understand how good the guy is, but I've never been a fan of his attitude...just not my kinda athlete. I'd trade him in a heartbeat...

I would think that if a team takes him on for playoffs, how he performs in the playoffs would go a long way to deciding if they want/can keep him...

The girlfriend and I were talking about the food at CB and can't understand why people would think the food was so great. Even by pub-grub standards, it's "standard" at best...or the Red Deer one is, at least, and I assume they're all identical with the same re-heated food.

Best thing that could possibly happen for the Leafs....dump everyone from prior regime, and start from scratch. Build through the draft, surround the prospects with the right veterans, and you might have something. Good for Babs, Shanny and Old Man Winter...

They want a higher 1st round pick + a prospect, and some of the media talking heads are saying their maybe enough of a market to get 1st + Prospect + Roster Player, because a team like Washington is so desperate to win now...

You have to read his entire series of tweets in context. He's talking about how Ladd is finally starting to play "normally" again, and wondering if the lingering effects of his off season surgery are wearing off and he's back to his old self. Saying that he'll hit 20 goals again this year, making him very valuable, both on the market and to the Jets. Purely speculating on his value now...

Don't get me wrong, I like pub grub a lot. We spend a lot of time at places like Original Joe's, Montana's, and various faux-Scottish/English pubs that populate Calgary, but we're trying to go to brew pubs more... Places with better beer.

It's standard chain restaurant fair. They have them all over. Food is basic pub grub and the beer menu is full of Molson Coors garbage. Gotta go to more indie places to find something different.
