In 2011, Bombers and Esks were both around 5-0 I think (something like that...) and met early in that season. We won at home that night, I believe. This game feels a lot like that....

You said RNH is riding shotgun with McJesus this year, right? I wanna see the kid put up 90+......he's still an elite offensive talent, but asking him to concentrate more on defense the last couple of years hindered his stats. If he's all in on offense by playing finisher for 97, he can still put up HUGE points...

the only thing that looks far better is their record. If you watch the games, they're actually worse....having said that, it's because of injuries. At full health, there's no doubt that's a great team. But they're down to like 3rd and 4th stringers in some cases....that roster, as of now, is not a good team. They've been getting by, by beating Hamilton and Ottawa and Montreal (6 of their 7 W's)

Again, he said "viewed" as elite......that's the key there. Quality of their opponents be damned, their record is how the outside world is seeing the Esks this year...

I'd argue vehemently Edmonton isn't that team this year.......they might be VIEWED that way, but they sure as hell aren't, in reality...

If we could ever find a way to lock down Jeffcoat, Walker and Thorpe to (relatively, per CFL standards) long-term deals, that'd be a huge coups...

I would guess the defensive tendency in that situation is to sit defenders down on the 1st down marker, and take that away...so a lot of the time, only the underneath routes are available. Now, again, nothing is ever 100% the same all the time, but.....

Sure it does...if you've got guys who can get YAC. The key is, not everything works all the time....

Edmonton is the definition of smoke and mirrors. With a full, healthy roster, they're a damn good team, for sure. The roster we're going to see tomorrow? We damn well better beat that, or we're going to have to re-evaluate some things and this place will be ugly for a week. Now, having said that, I fully believe we'll win tomorrow...

Took a bit of a haircut, all things considered. Going to be a hell of a player, but with 2 guys eating 21mm in cap space (the same hit as Kane/Toews - 10.5mm/each) it'll be tough for Chiarelli to field a competitive team around them. Have to find a bunch of value contracts that can perform at a high level....a lot of which will have to be stand out draft picks. Gonna be relying heavily on ELCs...
