Biggest role our NI Rec's play is blocking. If they do that well, that's most of the job...
Well, when you don't have the football you're expected to block.

I just couldn't get into this tournament. It's way too early. This, in no way replaces the Olympics.

According to Justin Dunk Willy got hurt during practice and his status is unknown. I guess he took his bad luck with him.
What? Unreal.

Rod was a heckuva player. I remember him very well. Sorry to read about his problems later in life. RIP Rod Woodward.

In, John Kling. 6'7 315 buffalo
Out; WR outlaw, DL eric martin, DL erik williams, and lb nick temple.
Man, I remember a time & it doesn't seem that long ago (but it was) when a 245 lb OL was the norm. A giant would have been LT Bill Frank at 6'7 & 275 lbs...

I don't recall a lot of throws where our qbs have left our receivers in vulnerable positions. I just said I prefer bigger targets at slot & wideout.

To be fair, I think the Ryan Smith experiment is over after this year.
Smith is a talented receiver but I really believe our receivers have to get bigger & more physical even though the rules on PI & incidental contact have largely taken away the physicality of the defensive backs that cover them. I'll take a 6'3 receiver over a 5'10 one in a heartbeat if they have great hands just because the size & weight differential can be a real advantage when the ball is on a high trajectory. The receiver can just go up & get it. Wall out the DB covering him. You just have to look at the Stampeders & their passing attack to see what I mean.

Having Hull and Orr on the team would have helped too.
Absolutely. Hull was the best left winger power forward in the world at the time. Of course Orr was the best hockey player in the world as well but had major knee issues. It was Alan Eagleson's decision to not allow Hull to play as he was cozy with NHL owners & President Clarence Campbell.

also helped that Bobby Clarke broke their best player's ankle too. But that's just hockey, at least it was back in those days....
Always love to watch this speech by Espo - especially to the bozo fans in Vancouver who were booing him. Vancouver fans - just the worst.
Everybody thought we'd go 8-0. When we didn't the fans & media got surly. You could see that Esposito was at the point where he justifiably wanted to say "Eff You to Canadians" & just go back to the Bruins training camp. Two weeks later Espo was a hero.

I often wonder how the 1972 Soviet team would fare against this year's Canada's World Cup team or the last Olympic one. I think we'd sweep the Soviets in 5....Or 6-2 as that series in 72 was an 8 game series. The biggest problem for Team Canada back then 44 years ago was conditioning. They didn't train in the off season like the NHL players of today do & Team Canada needed the first 5 games just to get in shape... Once they did they won 3 straight to win the series.

Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer & Jack Nicklaus. The Big Four of golf. Tiger Woods may have been able to break into that group before his career went all to hell. He'll be a discussion subject when it comes to other great golfers like Tom Watson, Lee Trevino & Greg Norman. Top 10 but never Top 4 like Palmer was. Also, the Top 4 played at a higher & more competitive level at an older age than Woods is now.

Or he can get an extra 30 grand signing bonus and then retire with a career advertising booster juice for the club
Who knows?

I'm guessing Montreal and Toronto?
Wouldn't it be funny if we signed him.... how many Rider fans would freak out if we beat them with massive games by Durant, Dressler and Smith?
We just might be. I have a facebook friend who is an ardent Rider fan. He said DD has an online business in Regina that brings him in an extra $30,000 a year in income & even though he could work the business from elsewhere it's tied to Riders merchandising so he thinks DD will re-sign with the Riders. If he goes elsewhere there goes the business.

After turtling last weekend, not surprised Adams was dealt. If a player doesn't like contact then it's time to get another job doing something else.

Overall health was such a major factor in Ottawa's success last year... they suffered basically no significant injuries and just barely snuck by the Collaros-less Ti-cat in the east final... I think most would agree Hamilton was the best team in the East last year...
Before the Collaros injury it wasn't even close.

You know what tho, Why not just come out and say, you want to player closer to home for family reasons. I'd accept that over the dog and pony show that we have gotten.
If parents are meddling the guy should tell them to back off. He's a grown man capable of thinking for himself. He doesn't need Mommy & Daddy getting involved like he's in Grade 6.

Last year their OL stayed intact. Now., they'll have to do some roster juggling.
