When you see a receiver not moving & finding an open spot they'll often sit & wait for the pass. That's the route they run & it's called a Sit Route. Or they could be running a curl to the open spot on the field. When you see that it's zone. It means the receivers are finding the open spots between the zones. LaPo plays a more horizontal short passing game. We don't go deep very much but it is effective when he does. It's better than it was before. With Willy he was holding onto the ball too long as well as under & overthrowing his receivers. Our offense looks a lot more productive than it did in July.

Did Phil hunt play this week cuz i never noticed him. I don't think he makes a difference here. Jefferson? He's a Chris Jones guy. Never an option. The 2 receivers? Maybe but I don't really think our issue on O is receiver. ... I think its oc and qb..... Ya I said it... Nichols is part of the problem for sure. He's average. Willy is below average. We really do need a better QB.
Our receiving corps isn't good enough. Did you guys see Arceneaux & Burnham now with Sinkfield?? We need to get bigger & more physical on offense. By more physical I mean the receivers breaking tackles & being great blockers. We need to upgrade. I can live with Dressler but not Dressler & Smith. With a better receiving corps I think Nichols will play better. Our play selection is based on spreading the field with quick, short passes resulting in ball control. It makes for long scoring drives. We aren't a quick scoring, big play offense.

Come now, Willy just needs time to get his game back. It's only fair that he take every Argo snap for the remainder of this season and maybe through next season to rediscover his mojo. Pinball will fill his head daily with inspirational thoughts.
You're cold, man. C-c-c-cold. Be nice to Willy.

I hope Willy turns it around. I mean I hope for next year and beyond but I still hope for it.
Why? The guy is gone now. Whatever he does or doesn't do is the Argos problem now. Personally, I'm glad he's been traded. We got a frigging first rounder & TJ Heath for giving up a what is truly a 2nd or 3rd string qb.

No sign of AC. He must be upstairs in the booth.

Willy fumbles on third down... How can anyone justify we should have kept this guy??
-
Man, he just looks bad. Exactly the way he did here. Dinks & dunks, underthrows a receiver in the flat then throws a pick that was later ruled an incomplete pass on 3rd down a few minutes later. The Argos are finding out what we already knew.
-
Looks like the same Drew Willy we knew here. Which isn't much.

Every receiver for the lions are big... can physically beat their defender...

Out of curiosity, who would you guys hire? A retread like Higgins who bombed last time out in Montreal? Bennievides, whose d looks lousy in Edmonton? Another first time coach like Thorpe or Steinhauer?
Man, this argument again. It never gets old.

If we had the receivers BC did we'd be fighting for 1st place. Big & physical. Our receivers don't match up with the Lions, Stamps & Esks.
-
Adams beaten deep by Stamps WR Davaris Davis. So, it's a wash as Frederic got beat last night.

Take it easy on the unenlightened though for cripes sake logan and let me get up to speed ......
Don't quote Kpt Krunch. Therefore he will not exist. You're dead to us, Krunch.

The game I watched had an inconsistent offensive attack with plenty of two and outs with a sporadic drive or two. Neither side played well enough to earn the victory and the ST game was about as sparky as a bowl of cold porridge.
You can't hang this loss on the offense when the Esks O moved the ball downfield at will on our defense & the refs had a boner for the Eskimos all night.

I said he was a better option than Kolhert at the start of the season and got roasted. I still don't know what people see in Kolhert, he's good for about 2 catches and a drop per game.
Two? If that.

He'd have to sign a 3 yr contract minimum. No BS one year deal... If not, he can sit wherever he lives. Doesn't look like there's any rush to sign him from other teams. Once burned twice shy.

Feoli Gudino looked solid tonight, if not spectacular and I continue to wonder why he has played so little to now.
Same. He gets no respect here from a lot of people.

This D has been so bad for so long... Holy ****. I'm gonna be so mad for so long... ****. What a pile of steaming **** this was.
If we go 8-10 do we still keep MOS?

Make that the last 5 games. The last 2 especially the D has really looked soft. Back to back games where we needed a stop by our D to win/potentially win the game and both times they've crumbled. Starting to come back to earth at the worst possible time.
Our D looked like the Etch D in 2014. Couldn't stop anything to seal a win late in the game.

They don't use the 1 rb enough as is. It'd be a waste to dress Flanders and Harris.
Do what Calgary does with Messam & Harrison. They alternate in & out. Except Flanders is 3 times the RB Harrison is. But we'd need 8 Canadian starters to do that. I don't want Neufeld in for Hardrick or Hurl in for Wild or Bass. So, he'll sit when Harris returns.
-
So is Kohlert. He only gets 3 or 4 throws a game if that. If the ball is catchable he has to grab it. Otherwise why is he out there? As the token Canadian starter?
-
That officiating crew gave us no breaks at all. At the same time when there was a credible challenge on the Leggett call MOS did nothing. That was mind boggling. Why wouldn't he challenge that call? Then the next play they scored a TD. So frustrating... Meanwhile Maas will challenge everything.

I don't blame the refs a lot either most times but the flags were so one sided in the Eskimos favour that it was nuts. The head ref looked clueless out there... I still don't get why MOS never challenged the Mo Leggett PI call.
