I had to leave the room on the Fumble replay, couldn't watch it. Way too high on MDA.

All I could think about was "Why? WHY??" They showed the one angle on replays & my heart sank & then they made the call & we had the ball... Then we gave up the 2 points with no time remaining... wait no we didn't run out the clock as there was one second left... Then BC throws the pass & it's over. Like OMFG... Only in the CFL.

I'm not ashamed of what I've done and where I've been, I've had my reasons and proud to say I've cleaned up. I also dont shy away from my past if I find it has relevance in speaking about something similar as a reference point. thats all

I give you tremendous credit overcoming your addictions. You should be very proud. It hits home with me as we have a family member who has been clean & sober for years. I know of what you speak & it's horrendous. Congratulations on your sobriety.

Yes he is guilty and only has himself to blame. Rules are rules.

But many here obviously think it's a bad rule, and should be changed.

History is full of people who defended bad rules until they weren't rules anymore, and they look like true fools of the past now.

If they can drink alcohol they should be allowed to do MDMA. It's a bad rule.

If  they can drive a car why follow the speed limit? Speed limits make no sense. It's a bad rule. ;)

not trying to justify his actions, he screwed up and took something on the banned list. he gets what he deserves. I'm just speaking from experience that there is a huge difference between PEDs and recreational drugs and there should be fine line between the 2 and what the league enforces.  Liquor isnt exactly a non intoxicating substance yet no one bats an eye towards that

You wear your drug use like a Red Badge Of Courage.

  5. Funny how ST returners seem to glow brightly & for awhile & fade. A few years ago we had Chad Owens with the Argos along with Larry Taylor in Calgary as the best returners in the CFL.  Then there was Hamilton's Chris Williams lighting it up for a couple of seasons, then he left over a contract dispute but came back to Ottawa & is primarily a receiver now. For awhile Ti Cats Brandon Banks was the best returner bar none in the CFL until this season where he's kind of faded from view. Now there's 3 new guys who have come on the scene, Chris Rainey (although he was with BC for a portion of the 2015 season, Roy Finch in Calgary & Kevin Fogg here. They're the Young Guns now.

Boy, the Bombers sure don't know how to win easy lately..

Great effort...another 0 sack performance by the O-Line.

    But 12 more penalties..gotta stop.

Special teams is rickety right now, 'cept for Fogg

But what a nice performance, and play calling with the offence.

All things considered, we poked, we prodded, got burnt (hamed,)  answered back, and scored points when we had to.  I saw some magnificent catches by that BC team, and they were well covered.

    Good job Big Blue!

We had to really, really, really work to win that game. To MOS credit he never panicked on the bench & kept his cool. The team did as well. Came thru in the crunch.

In that melee it was hard to tell exactly when Harris actually touched the turf...I believe he was down and the whistle blew ending the play..The ball did come out but the play was whistled dead before the ball came out....Matters not anyway as the command centre ruled it was a dead play and not a fumble..How many have we seen go the other way and cost us bigtime...Great win.

Exactly!! It was a bout time we won a game instead of having it snatched away from us by a bogus official call as in the past. Sucks to be a Lion & their fans.

  8. So, in the twitter universe everyone is saying the Lions got screwed & that the ball was out. My response to that is **** the twitter universe. I think the whistle blew before the ball did come out. But the Bombers have been screwed over so many times by the officials that cost us games in the past even if it was a fumble, I don't care as it was about bloody time a call went our way.

To me the issue here is that the CFL does not test for recreational drugs and the only reason BJ got busted is that they have wrongly classified this drug as performance enhancing.  BJ could have been doing coke all night with no issue but then he popped a pill and because the CFL has it classified as a PED he gets busted.  I think that is wrong and silly.  I'm sure many don't agree but it is a mistake on the part of the CFL and CFLPA.

Why is it a mistake on the CFL or the PA? It's on Johnson. He got caught. He was stupid. His problem. Is it the fault of the cops if a driver is caught for speeding? We may think the speed limit is too low but it's not the police's fault if someone breaks it. It's the law. Break the law you pay the price.

Yet they don't look the other way on BJ because it's not weed? Now that is effed up.

At the end of the day it is what it is. It's on the banned substances list & as a player he had a responsibility to know. I just kinda shrug my shoulders on this one here & go "Hey stupid...."

  11. Just now, J5V said:

You're right, the player is wrong for getting caught too. Doesn't change my opinion on the whole drug testing thing though. Performance enhancing drugs is where I'd draw the line, reluctantly.

The CFLPA agreed on the drugs on that list so I have no problem with it. My son had a friend who was a junior football  receiver who practiced everyday with a CFL team a few years ago. He'd go to the CFL practice during the day & his junior team in the evening. Every receiver on that team smoked weed. I'd bet 75% minimum of all CFL players smoke weed. If they went all out the league would shut down so I'd say that the CFL & CFLPA look the other way on a lot of things when it comes to a banned substances list.

  12. 1 hour ago, J5V said:

Probably never thought he'd be tested for E. I doubt that it's a performance enhancing drug anyway. CFL gets it wrong again.

Sorry J5V, I don't agree. Brandon Browner nearly lost his NFL career for smoking weed more than once so it's not the league who gets it wrong. It was the player. The NFL, CFL & their Players Assns all agreed on what drugs would be included on a banned list so if a player doesn't know (which I doubt) which drugs are on the list, is blissfully naïve or wants to roll the dice then the ramifications are on him. You may not agree what's on the list which doesn't matter but it's there & he should have known.

What a great 4th quarter! Redblacks go away from what worked in the 4th, then miss a FG in OT for the loss. Riders win cuz 5 turnovers. Should have won by more, but had to settle for FG's instead of TD's. Sound familiar?

Never been a Chris Milo fan. He is an average kicker & when his team needed him he didn't come through. God threw him under the bus.

  14. 5 hours ago, Plaxico said:

Crazy that he'd be suspended for this. The players association should do something about recreational drugs and suspensions.

The CFLPA wanted this & agreed to it. The membership canned Scott Flory as President because he continually refused to agree to a drug testing.

  15. 7 hours ago, Atomic said:

Yeah since when do they test for **** like that?  What a joke.

No, the joke was the CFL never having a drug testing program before because former CFLPA President Scott Flory fought it tooth & nail until he was replaced by the CFL players themselves who actually wanted a program in place.  The guy got caught. He has to serve the suspension. Two games. That's it. So, I don't think it's a joke at all. Stamps DT Quinn Smith just returned from his 3 game suspension. He got 3 games instead of 2 as he was suspended before by the CIS in the off season after his draft year.
