  1. ....but it's the offseason and he's one of the many that are signed who we can watch videos of and speculate on. I'll get as worked up as I please.
  2. Subway is great if you want to smell like a mixture of Marinara sauce, bread and sputum for the rest of the day.
  3. Quick release, good arm strength. I worry about that knee...but so far I like what I've seen.
  4. Well, Ricky Williams was a big deal coming to the CFL and I don't even think he cracked 50 yards against the Bombers. Not to say that the transition from NFL to CFL is the same for a WR...but Ochocinco's not as young as he used to be. His route running skill will be what lets him succeed in the CFL (If this indeed is for real)
  5. Cherry. And not the sour cherry variant that makes me want to die.
  6. The lack of arm strength was the worrrrrrrrrrst. Lollipops left and right.
  7. In for this. Marve is the guy from here on out. Where is Road Griller?
  8. That seems quick to pass judgement on Muamba, doesn't it? oops nm. I forgot that A. You were talking about Cauchy and B. Henoc doesn't play for us anymore.
  9. I can't see Glenn making it past 2-3 years either. Buck Pierce was a younger and "tougher" QB than Glenn and he got chewed up and spit out behind our lousy O-Line
  10. We've already committed to Willy as our starter. I don't see how Glenn would accept a backup role here, or anywhere else for that matter.
  11. ...back when The Bombers figured they could do better at QB than Kevin Glenn.
  12. And when you're choosing to read Paul Friesen over Gary Lawless, you realize how terrible your selection is.
  13. Well when you want to stop inventing make believe arguments about Joe Mack I'll stop arguing with you. It's totally different because I'm calling Lawless a terrible writer, which he is. Nothing more nothing less. Just stating the simple fact that since Tait moved to the Jets and Turner stopped doing anything the Free Press coverage has been laughably bad and Lawless is part of that. No way, man. I'll argue with you till the cows come home about Mack. You get bothered.... and you do get bothered.... even though you deny it... whenever someone dares to criticize Mack. Yet you criticize Lawless any chance you get which I find hypocritical. So, hey everyone.... Looks like 17 & I are juuuust getting started. You can't defend Mack.. The record under him is laughable. yes.. We made it to the grey cup which was a really nice surprise, but its like Buck and Lapo Willed us into that game. The lack of talent at the O-line, Qb and and OC coaching positions never got better... Mack took a bad team over from Kelly, and didn't really improve it in the 4 years he had managing the Team. Did he find some good players? Sure.. But he didnt address the positions that needed to be addressed. Lapo was a good coach and was good for the team, but he had **** to deal with.. Burke's team looked even worse with similar players.. but i digress. That's the CFL for you though. Squeak into the playoffs and get hot.
  14. We're used to having a mediocre backup-worthy QB start and a REALLY bad QB back him up. When you cycle through all three QBs on your roster (And then additional QBs later in the season) you don't get any closer to finding out what needs to be fixed. With Glenn either starting or on the bench, we at least have a tried and true, seasoned vet available. Granted, he doesn't like the cold and doesn't like to get hit so we might not see too much of him, but at least we get the summer games to enjoy.
  15. I hope to god that's not how reporters are taught. They should be reporting the facts not trying to lead people into soundbites that fit the conclusion the reporter wants to have. As someone who is a reporter/journalist/interviewer (though admittedly, not a sports reporter), that absolutely is not standard reporter training. You want to get a good quote, sure, but not by leading people to the conclusion you want. I suppose if you went to the TMZ School of Reporting, you'd get that type of training, but anywhere else (school or practical), you most definitely want to ask open-ended questions that let the interviewee say as much as possible to the point where you get that great quote -- and hopefully an open and honest one. I see and hear far more "leading" questions than I ever have in sports media, lately. I blame the big-time sports show guys like Skip Bayless, Stephen A Smith, Jim Rome etc for this upswing in opinionated, ******-baggy sports opinions. It has become less about the story than it has about the angle or argument a personality wants to show.
  16. I suspect we'll start the season with Willy as our #1 guy and a decent, proven safety net behind him in Glenn. The best part about Glenn is that he's a proven commodity, and while he may not be a world-beater we know what to expect with him behind centre. The dice-rolls in Elliott, Brink, Goltz, etc weren't great to helping us determine what our problems were and with Glenn we'll be able to rule a few unknowns/X-factors out right away.
  17. I think the only way to continue bringing in great talent from the USA is to make sure they have a clear path to the NFL if they want it. Sure it sucks when they go, but if they're a good enough player to make the NFL then we should feel lucky we got to watch them a little while before the inevitable happened. I still feel this way about guys like Jon Ryan, Cam Wake (Even Trestman).
  18. That's a good point. I can go to a local family restaurant and get a massive burger platter for 9.99. Fast food has become a rip off, especially MD with their tiny burgers. However, if prices are a concern, get yourself some coupons. A & W has coupons that get you two combos for $10 - they're usually in our local paper. The 9.99 burger platter is quickly disappearing. I'm not a fan of cheeseburgers, so I'd ALWAYS get just the plain burger wherever we went, and could often get it for said $9.99 price tag. No more. It's at least $10.99 in any place you look, and in some places it's even more (nevermind the $2-3+ they charge you for a soft drink with it). It's tough to come away from a family restaurant without spending $14.00 after tax, and at McDonalds (if you order wisely) you can get a lot of food for under $10.00 (double hamburgers, anyone?) Two or three dollars more but far more food on the plate. $9.99 @ Barney Gargle's in Selkirk. If you don't want to pay for pop, order ice water with lemon. Plus $5.00 for gas to drive out there. plus, I want my diet coke.
  19. I definitely agree with Brown that Glenn won't be as good as he was with a star-studded cast in Calgary, but I think most of us expect that. We're not exactly unaware of how bad our team is right now, and for us to expect Glenn to come in and put up some of the numbers he has recently is completely unrealistic. Even Ricky Ray or Prime Anthony Calvillo would have trouble putting up decent numbers when they're constantly on the run while trying to find a rare open receiver.
  20. You see once again you miss the entire point. I love to argue, the problem is that you started bitching and moaning about the fact that I didn't let you get away with your bullshit so in an effort to ease up I said I'd tone it down as long as you did, but you didn't so now I am wondering why. The problem with comparing your criticism of Mack is that you invent things, when I criticize Lawless it's all the truth and much more about an opinion than pretending it's all fact like you do in regards to Mack. Don't worry, you can't get me worked up because I don't get worked up about this stuff like you do. Have you ever seen me complain about people arguing with me? That's the entire goal here. I think you're getting worked up
  21. In addition to helping us learn how to properly work out the index finger on our right finger typing out his name.
