Which is shortsighted. Sure they get some cash for advertising for the game... but you're better off trying to win new fans.

Especially the guys who mess up spectacularly, or who are only in camp to round out numbers etc. Qbs get some leeway for obvious reasons. Other positions, if you can't handle the ball as a KR you gotta go. 

You can drop the guys with absolutely no chance and still have new faces in the mix for work you know... 

Ritchie Hall had the least disguised blitzes in the whole world. He didn't care he just wanted a quick throw. Hoping younger hides things a little more because that's how you force mistakes in this day and age in the cfl.

Vs. Keeping them around the while time and cutting them regardless of how they've performed? Like our import running backs 2 years running. Tons of reps in game, decent production but sorry you were just a warm body in camp.

First 2 weeks minimum in the cfl are absolutely glorified preseason games, especially when it's the first action the bulk of your starters actually play. That doesn't mean giving up... just means that it's very much still a shaking the rust off and or figuring out how your roster actually shapes up. Week 1 depth chart rarely looks at all the same as week 5ish. 
That's one of the complaints about the training camp we just saw... an awful lot of guys were kept around for no reason. They could have made a half dozen plus cuts way way sooner than they did.

Really though,  this is just preseason game 3. Get 2 point by hook or by crook and go from there.

FIFO is fine, just use it as intended... doesn't mean everyone has to be a saint, just means check your ego at the door and realize it's not all about you it's about the team.
