  1. because Ottawa took Demarco as a backup.... pretty obvious that's what they're planning on going with for their qbs. Oh sure they'll likely put in a call to Collaros but let's be honest, when the guy looks around the league for places he might start Ottawa isn't going to be there. Hamilton if they move on from Burris, Winnipeg or maybe Montreal depending on what they think of the guys they have now are the only real options where it might be a possibility. Just because someone was picked in the expansion draft doesn't necessarily mean that he's going to make the team. Desjardins stated that they wanted to avoid taking potential FA's, even to go on to state that pretty much the only reason they selected Kohlert from us, was because there wasn't much to choose from in Winnipeg. Again I'm not stating that it's guaranteed that Ottawa will look at Collaros, just saying that it is a possibility. As of right now it seems that Hamilton and Winnipeg are the only ones trying to bring in Collaros, other teams could get involved though who knows. But that's the point, they can get involved if they want but why is Collaros going to give them the same interest? He looks there and sees Glenn and Demarco to compete with, he looks at Winnipeg and sees a team that will basically give him the job, he looks at Hamilton and sees the same. THAT is what matters here.
  2. That implies that Burris actually makes decisions. I don't think he is a quick decision maker, he's just able to avoid pressure in the pocket is all.
  3. Can't be worse than the last bunch of losers? Seriously the average fan doesn't know crap about anything.
  4. Roughly translated "I'm desperate, I'll play anywhere I have a spot!"

  6. This coaching staff just gets less and less inspiring as time goes on.
  7. Yes we will, as long as you accept that I am correct and that Calvillo is a piece of crap.
  8. Not at all. Some fans here feel that way, but I guarantee the average fan would be thrilled to hear we've acquired a veteran QB like Burris, 38 years old or not. I think most casual fans would be happy with either one, provided the news tells them they should be excited. The casual fans are easily pleased in the offseason. Sign someone they've heard up and blow so much smoke up their asses and they'll lap it up. Then once the team loses a game everyone is going to be screaming for people to be fired.
  9. That Ottawa Sun piece is just horrible. It's a writer trying to come up with any type of news despite no facts. Collaros wants to start so there is no way he considers going to a team that took a starter AND a #2 in the expansion draft.
  10. Do soccer players actually complain about field turf being too hard on the bodies? Cause honestly every time I've played on field turf it's just wonderful compared to the actual grass. Now maybe it's just been shitty grass fields but as a bigger guy who can get some pain in the knees and ankles running on hard surfaces those field turf fields were never any problem.
  11. I don't think he does feel as strongly as some people do either, but that's only cause some people seem to think Collaros is a sure fire starter. It's still a risk because he's still unproven, but if you think he's the best unproven guy on the market then you go for him cause there's no good experienced options out there.
  12. KJ was good 'n all, but I wouldn't put him in the same category as Allen or Calvillo, while I'm not the biggest fan of either they were consistently good for a long while. Jones maybe got 4 years where he was playing relatively well ? I'm not talking overall career I'm talking peak. That 2002 season was something special I think people have forgotten about it. 46 td passes is an unreal number. The difference of course is that Jones got his shoulder messed up real quick and he didn't last long. Durability is a nice thing for an overall career but if we're just looking at guys in their peak then yes I put Jones up there even if his peak was only a few years. KJ's best season Team Comp Att % Yards Long TD % Ints % Rating WPG 382 620 61.6 5,334 83 46 7.4 29 4.7 94.5 vs. Cavlillo's best seasons 2004 MTL 431 690 62.5 6,041 81 31 4.5 15 2.2 96.6 2008 MTL 472 682 69.2 5,633 81 43 6.3 13 1.9 107.2 I still respectfully disagree with the notion that Jones at any point was better than Calvillo. are you going to take into account differences in team make up? Cause you can quite easily argue that those numbers aren't all that different and that Jones never once had an offensive line as good as the ones Calvillo had when he put up his best years. Yes Jones had Milt Stegall, but Calvillo wasn't throwing to useless receivers either and arguably had more depth to use than Jones ever did. You also had Charles Roberts being used quite extensively in that time as well. Is it any coincidence that Calvillo didn't see a real drastic increase in his passing numbers until after Mike Pringle retired? All these things matter, and I did say that in my mind Jones did more with less so when we have numbers that are very much comparable then we start to see how the more with less argument trumps some slight variations in the numbers.
  13. Well Pierce might have worked out if they hadn't tossed aside the guys who were supposed to be developing behind him before they had a chance to run with it. Bottom line though is when there are some of the backups around who might be ready to take on a starting role we should sign one of those guys rather than Burris just because Burris is never going to win another Grey Cup and he'll be retired sooner rather than later. And by "guys" you mean Joey Elliott ........? Or Brink. You don't get a guy as a bridge veteran qb and then dump the guys you've invested 3 years in developing without seeing what they can do. That was a stupid move and I said in the offseason it was going to cost a lot of people their jobs and lo and behold a lot of people got fired.

  15. It certainly did get interesting, I think he will sign with someone quickly to be honest. I think if things get drawn out teams might start to look at other options more seriously because why deal with a difficult signing when there are other options? The NFL is a wildcard but if it's CFL for Collaros I'd bet he's got a new team before the end of the week.
  16. He hasn't. As per the thread title, Collaros was released. i mean if walters traded for his rights earlier like weeks ago, then argos release him. if Walters had traded for him weeks ago then the argos wouldn't be releasing him because he would be bomber property and they would have had to release him.
  17. nooooooooooooooooo anyone who calls a team FC and wears a scarf to a sporting event is a ****** of epic levels.

  19. Avoid slagging ticket sales, being the laughing stock of the league again, etc. The problems on this team go beyond just the quarterback position. It needs a lot of help elsewhere too. Burris himself is not going to make this a championship football team. Burris doesn't make anyone a championship team. His one Grey Cup is a fluke plain and simple. Was against Montreal right? So call it the choker bowl (it was in a dome too right). Lot of really good stamps teams that Burris choked out of the playoffs, saw it last year too, played fine inside in the east final but get outside for the grey cup and he got hammered. If the guy could play in the cold he might be able to make the team a contender but as it stands he's only good in the summer. What good is that? I'd rather Kevin Glenn cause at least he's not a douchebag to go along with his choking and fair weather play.
  20. nope the competitiveness would out weigh the "**** this ****"
  21. Why? Because you say so? lol I don't get why you feel like when someone else has a point they're making, you're the first one to demand source materials or some kind of proof but you just think it's okay that your argument can be "because I say so" Burris isn't hitting free agency because he's a hot commodity that will instigate a bidding war. If he hits free agency, it's because the team that had him doesn't want him. It's the same as with any player who is declined an offer by their old team. They don't hit the open market with much, if any, leverage to command whatever they want. Burris will still have all the leverage. Because if Collaros is already off the market, the Bombers have no options for a starting QB other than Burris, unless they are really willing to roll the dice on Willy or Hall. And after last season, everyone knows the Bombers do not want to run the risk of another quarterback disaster. Burris could easily just retire. He will be able to squeeze the Bombers for every penny, no question. No chance, the ego is too great. He'll play at a lower salary rather than retire.
  22. Burris is going to be a free agent because Hufnagel and Austin have got tired of his ****, that should be a giant red flag to everyone. When those guys don't want to work with a qb, come on. Not to mention the fact that when the weather gets cold or there's any kind of adversity Burris is horrible and starts pouting and blaming everyone but himself. Just say no to Burris.
  23. Does this even need to be asked?
  24. well that was a useless trade all in all.
