call me crazy, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Als wind up 2nd in the east. Hamilton doesn't impress me, especially with all their qbs out and in a contest between a team with a very tough defense and no offense vs. and all around bad team like Ottawa give me the team that at least has the D.

You know what a screen pass is right? Every time you were bitching about that in the chat room it was on a play where the als were letting guys get in the backfield then dumping the ball in behind them. That's no on Dunn, that's on Montreal taking advantage of the blitz with a play designed to exploit it. Not much Dunn can do but stop and get his hands up. He's not getting to the qb so try and disrupt the throw any way possible. You don't like it take it up with Etch.

So I think we know who the better RB is now

Did you see the play early in the game where Grigsby stopped before he hit the line of scrimmage and was tackled for a loss? That was absolutely embarassing. At least Cotton was running forward. Hell the play he got dropped hard by Hebert at least he picked up 8 yards first. If that was Grigsby he would have got maybe 3 or 4 cause a guy would have got a hand on him coming through the initial hole. Grigsby went back in during the 4th quarter and actually stopped ******* around going sideways and running tentative. He actually started to make a decision and commit to it and ran with more authority and go figure he made some plays. I question whether he can do that all the time or not, but if he can then good, but if not I like the way Cotton runs better. Overall I think the biggest issue with the running game last night was the play calling. They did very little to actually give the backs a chance until late in the game, but I can not stand a running back who is seemingly afraid of contact. -
How embarassing was Glen Suitor when talking about the PI challenge? Man oh man was he ever showing bias there.

I thought the receivers let Willy down tonight, not only with some drops but when he was pressured or sacked it seemed to be because no one was open. -

LOL - good one. As I mentioned in another thread - Crompton is the real deal. He was always the best looking (as in arm) QB here in Edmonton last year. He's from a first rate Division one University, has size, can scramble, he just needs some polishing and he'll be a gooder. Montreal is set now. As for us - is it me, or is the honeymoon with Drew Willy ending? Willy has not looked all that good last few weeks, including this week. Some very bad overthrows, missing wide open receivers and/or throwing the ball in a bad spot. Hey, don't get me wrong, I'm not jumping off his bandwagon, it's just that he's human afterall. He's same age as Crompton and is definitely ahead of him in the development stage but will be interesting to see where these two are when they are 30 (in their career progression that is). Did you notice how when we actually were able to run the ball he looked better passing? He's not a guy who at this point can do everything with his arm, there's too many other issues going on for him to do everything, but when he's got support he is fine. Bellefeiulle needs to be more creative with the running game, but at least O'Shea finally told Grigsby to run hard and not pussyfoot around with the side ways running or stopping before hits the hole. -
Only an idiot Bomber fan would say something so juvenille. Rod Pedersen is the voice of the Riders and a well respected person in the community None of which makes him any less of an idiot.

We could lose on turnovers. or by ineffective offense which means that it just takes one big play from the Montreal offense to turn the game. There are lots of ways to lose a game in the CFL. No team is a free space no matter how terrible they are. -

In the CFL that's like looking at the loonie in your hand and saying "I'm only $999,999 away from being a millionaire"... Montreal is proof positive that the only things that really matter in the CFL are coaching and quarterbacking. -
Now We have This To Compete With Signing NFL Cuts

It will probably run to set up the pass. -
True day. But at this point it looks like every team in the West will finish ahead of the 2nd place team in the East. yeah but what happens if the 2nd place team in the east stomps on the bottom 2 eastern teams and the west stomps all over the 5th place western team? Sure it looks lopsided now, but the western teams have picked up so many of their wins against the east, let's let the eastern teams beat up on each other and the western teams sort their ordering out first why not? It's not going to stay this lopsided all year simply because the schedule is back loaded with divisional games. Yeah, except that there are still more east vs. west games coming up. There is the possiblity of the bottom 3 teams being 1-7. I don't see any of those 3 teams getting to 500, divisional games or not if that happens. But there are more east vs. east games and west vs. west games coming up. Things are going to change. Let it all play out before we get all worked up over an unbalanced schedule this far.

Kromah likely to make Bomber debut Friday

There's a time and place to try and strip the ball and there's a time and place to make the tackle and make sure the guy goes down. I like to believe that our players are smart enough to know the difference between the two times. -
That's what we call slinking away when called on bullshit.

Does he though? Or is he just in a situation now where he has a pretty well built team and doesn't need to trade picks for immediate help? A lot of the picks Taman traded were for either qbs or big name NIs. He's got both in Saskatchewan right now, no need to trade picks for them.
-
You can really only fully see his "MO" in the last three years as this is truly the only time he has been running the show. He has been quite adept at compiling mid to late round draft picks and these have been decent players. Taman does like to pay for veteran talent but it is hard to argue with his recent level of success. Not to mention some key cogs were already there or were not very hard to acquire. Durant, Labatte, Picard, et. al. It's easier to be a genius GM when the previous regime has already gone through the QB growing pains. This is pretty much it, He's got a good qb in Saskatchewan. When he had a good qb in Winnipeg he built good teams too. I still love the guy, no ill will here, but he operates in a certain way and that way is the same as it has always been, this year is more important than next year or the year after, he'll worry about them when they get here.
-
waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy ahead of you
-
Tamans MO has always been the same, he lives year to year, I don't see him changing that thought process any time soon.
-
Precisely. Y'all should peruse the standings all the way back to 2000. You'll find that the teams with the worst records...missed the playoffs...every bloody year. People are way too worked about about the standings after a heavy east vs. west schedule. It's going to change a lot as there are more divisional games. I worry about society sometimes with how short attention spans are.

Did Pall kick your dog or something? We're talking about bringing him in for a couple practices not making him captain of the team. That has nothing to do with anything. I can have an opinion but you're making this out to be a bigger deal than it is. Almost like you're taking it personally. I said I saw this guy at Stamps camp as a rookie & he can't play. I'm someone who actually went to training camp curious to see how he was doing & followed him during the exhibition season in 2012 because he was the Stamps first pick that year. Showed very little in training camp & the exhibition season that year. Pall's done nothing since to change my mind. Sure the Bombers can bring him in for a look see but...you don't build good teams on quantity. You build on quality. Why bring in a non descript National DL who hasn't stuck on 2 teams & was a first round draft bust? How can he help us? Hasn't even shown he's a depth player. Oh sorry, there's still fans here that think Jade Etienne should be brought back so why am I not surprised? Hey Etienne has proven a hell of a lot more than Pall has. He was actually able to get into some games and record some stats.

I'm guessing the city colours are blue and white. Each team with Toronto in their name with any history (Argos, Leafs, Jays, U of T) wears blue and white. I think I read somewhere it was blue, white and red and the red was the issue.
-
Sounds like trying to distance themselves from an abomination more than anything. Perhaps the Bombers office was just full of people who didn't want to argue with the Reebok folks? It would certainly explain why the Bombers current jerseys look so much different in style from every other teams.

No Braley perfers to operate the Braley Football League through a puppet. The only time he actually took the title for himself was when the puppet thought it could dance without it's strings.
-
Even the gold around the W is a huge improvement. Actually makes it look like Bomber colours. And to think, someone with the Bombers had to give this thing the thumbs up, just disgusting that they are still so out of touch.
