Yeah Noeller was watching Archie and friends instead. ...... Stuck up Riverdale punks, think they're too good for me...

We're Canadians, our closets have enough clothes to wear outdoors in any weather. Give me the out door football any day.
-
they probably fully expect Bryant to play and want the rest of the line to play the positions they'll play in the game, plus if Greaves is going to be a backup it's good that he gets reps at all positions in practise because he might need to play more positions. For what it's worth Joe Mack always viewed Greaves as a potential tackle.

I don't like the only the last quote showing feature, 3 or 4 to me is a good number. 10 is too high and I always try and crop ones going too far back out anyway, but in a lot of cases you need the context of a couple posts back.

I'll give Kendial Lawrence a chance this week

Yeah the combination of hands and speed is a real boon. Otherwise it's pretty much just Denmark as the burner out there.

Remember back when Doug Berry was here and the Bombers would have this great opening drive all the time then do sweet **** all the rest of the game? Don't get your panties in a bunch over an opening drive even if it is a long time consuming one. Football is a game of adjustments and the one thing I like about Hall's defence so far is how much he seems to adjust when things aren't working. He doesn't at least from my standpoint sit by stubbornly when things don't work.
-
Won't lie. maybe if you're a couple of negative nancies. I would have only worried if they'd gone two and out on offensively and then gave up another long drive. A long opening drive? Come on we've all been following the CFL long enough to know that the start of the game more often than not becomes entirely meaningless by the end.

I think it's fun to guess who says what. Is it wrong of me to just assume that any comments with the swearing in them come from Kent Austin? -
Odds and Sods - Game 6 - BC Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Not to mention Washington's great recovery in the endzone in knocking the ball away from the receiver. Reminded me of how school yard football was played. Still unclear why Dunigan thought that was pass interference . . . Because of all the weak assed calls they do make. -

Lulay definitely has some issues with his accuracy which is likely a result of having to change his throwing motion. Maybe he figures it out later in the year? Best to hope they get far enough behind early that they're out of the playoff picture before he does. -
Completely agree...that's a depressingly low bar though Well Khari I would say is a high bar to set he was awesome. I'd say Willy will definitely surpass Buck in his prime and may be better them Glenn. I was commenting on the "since Khari" part of the post. If Willy can stay healthy he'll be better than Buck and Glenn for sure. Kevin Glenn is the QB equivalent to potatoes. They'll get the job done, but I'm never going to get excited about them The **** you got against potatoes? They're awesome.
-
That's not Glenns thing and never has been. Glenn was always a guy that went along with the rest of the team. Willy reminds me more of Khari Jones than anyone. Different qbs for sure but the miles and miles of heart, very similar. Kharis team mates loved the guy I get the sense that WIlly has the same respect from his team.

I think we should stop starting 2 Canadian receivers and start 4 International Moore, Denmark, Adams and Veltung plus 2 big backs with Marshall and Scott will make Willy's job a lot easier. 1 big back is plenty. I don't know why you have taken a dislike to Paris Cotton but he's still a good runningback. Very explosive and very dangerous. When paired with a guy like Marshall you have the potential for a pretty dynamic running game. Since his good game on the first week, he's been regressing. I am a fan of Cotton, but if it doesn't work (now) a change has to be made. Look at the Pat Neufeld change it made a difference to the game last night. The change is giving Marshall more work. As a change of pace guy Cotton is a great option. 2 bigger backs isn't a change of pace. I've never seen a point in having 2 backs of the same type on the roster. You want someone who can bring a different dynamic to the offense. I will also disagree that Cotton wasn't working but that's a different debate. -

Let's not worry about tiebreakers with BC let's just win more games than them. Shouldn't be too difficult a task, that BC team isn't the same one they were.

I just knew this thread was getting a bump.

You want one of the top receivers in the league to sit on the IR the rest of the year? Why don't we just play 4 Americans at receiver and make the team that much harder to defend rather than stubbornly sticking with 8 Canadian starters for no apparent reason? -

This game was all about Willy and how important he is to this team. Guy is just a leader out there. You can tell the team believes in him and when you give him time to throw man oh man he's putting the ball where it needs to be. He was good last year but he's better this year and the development has been a real treat to watch. -
But this is what I'm saying, it's rare that you get a case where one guy is obviously the best candidate. Usually you got a couple guys that there's very little to choose between.

Stayed long enough to help a friend. I guess the size of the organization has a lot to do with it. If you know someone in HR at GWL it may not mean much but a small radio station or a football team then it might. I'd like to think if I was hired on merit & experience to be Bombers GM that I'd hire the best HC available who applied & not a football friend. My approach would be to let to know any applicant I may have worked or played with in the past that while it may have some impact on my decision it won't be the primary one. so you narrow your search down to two people that you feel are close, one is a long time friend who you have worked with before and trust, the other is a guy you don't really know... who do you hire? Obviously the person with the history. It is very rare that you get a candidate that is completely head and shoulders above everyone else.
-
Everyone in every business everywhere preferentially hires people they know. It's never what you know it's who you know. That's how the world works and it's not cronyism.
-
A series of poor hires and lack of patience. It's just as simple as that. I'd rather have my head in the sand than up my own ass.

Team Losing Because Of Coaching Decisions
17to85 replied to TransconaBomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Well quite simple really, Elliott was at the time the best qb the Bombers had that was able to play and he should have been playing. Cato is far from proven as a CFL starter though and part of actually being a good CFL starter is being able to adapt once defences adapt to you. Cato is getting his opportunity to prove if he can or can't, Elliott never got that opportunity because he for Burked. -
Hey no reason to get all salty because people shredded your flimsy argument and exposed it for the nonsense it was. There are lots of reasons why this team hasn't won a Grey Cup in 25 years, cronyism isn't one of them. Back to the drawing board, come up with some other crack pot theory maybe it will be better received. If you can't handle being wrong internet forums aren't the place to post crappy theories.
