  1. Could be worse. At least Willy didn't look as bad as Jennings
  2. Unless the play already called accounted for it. Bad execution happens even with a correct play call
  3. That's right. Let them build a base before we turf everyone again. Look at the mess we got into with the quick firings from Raman to Kelly to mack to Walters.
  4. Oh you sweet summer child.... bombers in Alberta is pain and misery
  5. How many coordinators? How many qbs? How many receivers? Still a ton of changes. I'm OK giving Walters and O'Shea 5 or6 years just for the sake of stability. Been too much impatience the last two decades we need stability even if it's not the best results
  6. May have to rebuild his confidence but it can be done. Especially if Harris brings his A game
  7. I think people are sleeping on Montreal. They have great receivers and a good veteran qb and good defence... they're not the riders here. There are good pieces on that team.
  8. But new OC, new receivers, give them time. We could just fire everyone and start over cause that's worked out so well the last 25 years
  9. But most over throws were to Smith who us new. Timing needs work. Give him time for that. He did miss a ton of time last year. Is rust really unexpected?
  10. But he has had all his receivers and rbs changing yearly, new ocs new ols etc. That does make an impact. I will give him more time before determining if he's going to be OK. Losing sucks but we do need patience.
  11. I don't even get too mad at this game. It was mostly a lack of execution that was the issue. Willy was bad. Flat out missed too many throws. He and Smith had no timing. Ol got owned too many times but did improve I thought. It'll improve cause Willy isn't usually that inaccurate. I never worry about his decision making, once the accuracy comes it'll be fine. Same old lapo though. either short or long and nothing between.
  12. It's the CFL, these days the distinction between WR and SB is pretty minimal because teams are always moving guys around trying to find favourable matchups. Dressler will see passes inside don't worry.
  13. yeah I was looking at the online store the other day and man this poor hurtin albertan wishes he had some more income right about now cause there's a lot I could buy.
  14. He is already full blown Edmonton. People don't get to oh so proudly jump off the band wagon and then jump back on. Not how this works. You quit on the team in the bad times you don't get to celebrate the good times.
  15. Did they make a beer for men too or just a ladies "beer"?
  16. Bombers 18-0 everyone else 0-18
  17. Homers the lot of you! I'll try my luck with SJ Green.
  18. I am surprised and I'm the first one to call him useless. Figured they would hide him for the patio and use randle or Adams at hb.
  19. Serious question, did Butcher actually shine in camp or did he just make a good play in that one game and come with a huge body so people are turning him into this beast man?
  20. Nichols ran a ton before he got his legs broken every time he tried. He's not a guy I'd hold up as an example of a pure pocket passer, he's a guy that used to run until the knees gave out.
  21. most young qbs do run more though, it's the lack of experience thing. I think you are using pure pocket passer in too narrow a context. Calvillo, Ray and Glenn are/were all pocket quarterbacks who only ran when they had to or to throw guys off. They aren't mobile but when there's enough room they can move. They're all actually in a pretty similar style to Drew Willy. Willy isn't another Kerwin Bell or Danny McManus. He can move if he has to, the same as AC, Ray or Glenn can.
  22. There are lots of ways to get a qb more time, time for the coaches to come up with something that works for the players on the team. I suspect we've been seeing a bit too much of wanting players to do things they're not great at.
