  1. **** that ****, I don't want to sit in the cold assed rain in Calgary, and in September it's just as likely to be snow as it is rain. Give me a sunny fall afternoon and may the better team win.
  2. Just for the record, you don't need a PhD to be a scientist... I am a scientist and I only have a bachelors. Hell I know people who do research too without a PhD and only a masters. Scientist is really just a catch all term for people who science. Now experts are probably all going to have doctorates but then again you can have a PhD in something unrelated and it doesn't make you an expert on a different subject. People need to stop looking simply at the what kind of education or background someone has and simply try and understand the topics and decide if what someone is saying makes sense or not. Too much appealing to authority going on. There are unfortunately a lot of people in this world who don't have the kind of mindset that allows them to form their own opinions based on evidence and need to be told what to think by "experts"
  3. but taking the 5 best times isn't really anything to do with average. the fastest of the fast at a skill position? Sure I'll buy that, but rank and file I get outside those elite few there's more dbs than receivers with speed. Also I really don't like using NFL numbers when speaking on a CFL forum. Those super fast receivers are few and far between up here and we get a lot of dbs that simply don't have the height requirement so it probably skews things in their favour in this league.
  4. tough is not playing the Riders twice. We had the super soft part of our schedule in the middle, the Lions get theirs at the end.
  5. and we are talking what? 100ths of a second differences? Which is inconsequential in the game of football. DBs are fast and there is a reason you see tons of tall receivers and so few tall dbs. DBs need to be fast to react, the receiver already knows what he's doing, the db needs to be able to react and keep up with that. Think about it like track and field, guys who win the 100m outside of Usain Bolt who is just a freak all tend to be shorter in comparison but as you get into the 200 and 400m you start to see taller players. Reason is pretty simple, long strides make a difference over a longer haul but short guys have more quickness, which in football is far more important. You make that quick move and the ball is in your hands and you're getting the first down. The reason you want a taller receiver is because you can get them to use their size to win battles, but if you have a bigger db they are probably going to struggle with the quick reactions more often than not. How often in football do you actually see a flat out 40 yard sprint? Those times don't mean a hell of a lot in the game of football.
  6. Adams had a long lay off due to injury, he's just finished his preseason games, he'll be back to form, you can already see the flashes of it too. Randle too coming off injury we shouldn't be surprised he had some rough moments last game. They will be fine I have no worries about that.
  7. I am also an asshat and will pick Messam, Bombers have had a hard time stopping him the last few years so go ahead Bombers, prove me wrong, prove me wrong.
  8. I would like to see some evidence of this, dbs are always among the fastest guys on the team, Or at very least the quickest because a db who isn't quick isn't going to accomplish jack **** out there.
  9. but if they didn't have a kicker who can hit consistently from 45 yards or better they'd probably punt more and with how good the cover teams are maybe they'd get either more turnovers or just keep tilting the field position to the point where eventually they do get the points anyway. So many moving pieces in football it's impossible to say that without this it's this.
  10. but some teams take more care of the ball and don't let the other team get those take aways. Calgary is one such team. It's a two way street, the Bombers take advantage but Calgary doesn't give teams as many chances to take the ball away. I mean the Stamps certainly aren't going to make risky gambles in dumb situations on 3rd down as one example.
  11. Perhaps trusting in their ability to develop young qbs behind Ray, seeing as they did it with Harris and Collaros. Sticking with the vet isn't a mistake, especially when they did make good offers to keep Harris and he opted to leave anyway.
  12. Wally let Reilly go to stick with Lulaly, let's all laugh at him too implying that he knows jack about qbs too right? Or how about the Esks dynasty letting qb after qb move on
  13. only in a Lapolice offense. Why try and score TDs when we can just line up for field goals?
  14. What do you consider an average kicker though? Cause Medlock isn't the only guy to make a majority of his kicks and I don't really see him as being the difference really. The difference is the depth the team now has where injuries aren't making it impossible to compete because the guys coming off the bench are a a clear step down.
  15. The players who will be cut from my team beat the players who wil be cut from your team!!! YOU SUCK!!!
  16. yeah I am assuming Dressler just needs a break from carrying the passing game on his back.
  17. The first time the team has had depth MOS is killing it as a coach, not a coincidence. Both of Walters and O'Shea have stepped up this season and you can see the plan coming together. We got depth seemingly everywhere on the roster now and where as in years past injuries would have crippled this team, now we really can just go next man up and not expect a significant drop off in play.
  18. i am curious about this choice, please explain
  19. Burris and Glenn at qb for extended periods will do that though. BLM is less of a choker, just had to contend with some other pretty good teams lately. Edmonton last year had a real tough D.
