Wallace/Eli/American.... Honestly the DL was a problem last year so why we kvetching that garbutt and haba and fox are all gone? Woods and adams were the best of the bunch and last I looked they kept them... so scouts do your job and find more guys who can play. Ol was a problem last year too so why are we worrying that we lost Dobson? I get the frustration, but a lot of those frustrations aren't related to free agency, they are related to the team having a different vision than some of us here.

So what holes do people see on the roster? Cause there aren't as many as it might appear... yeah we'd all like an upgrade at centre but obviously they don't see the same pressing need as we do so that's never going to happen... yeah we all want Jake Thomas to retire, but they obviously want a Canadian on the DL so that is what it is. Pretty obvious the DL is going to be daughters, woods, Canadian, Jefferson with Adams as depth #1. That leave is your depth as the pieces to fill and yes they lost some bodies who were that depth, but maybe they want more than those guys brought. We lost Lawler which sucks, but they did add a veteran piece and schoen is back. Receiving corp should be ok, again it's depth that needs padded.

honestly, Dobson is a guy who never lived up to the hype... Wallace will quickly become better than him. I completely understand not wanting to pay him that kind of money. Truthfully the "loss" that hurts the most was Desjarlais, but that's ancient history at this point. Ford is a loss from a ratio standpoint but I don't think the secondary will suffer from it. Dobson is a loss from a ratio depth standpoint but I don't think the OL suffers that much in terms of the first unit. Lawler wasn't the Lawler that we were bummed to lose a few years back, and last time Lawler left for a big pay day we got Dalton Schoen so it can still work out just fine. I don't think there are as many holes as people want to imagine there are on this team. There's some questions to be sure and some areas that could use an upgrade but I don't know that it's all that much worse than last year with some potential to be better,

I agree with you, but I want to see how the roster shakes out before I really get too worked up.

And yet if you listened to walters talk way earlier in the offseason, specifically about Ford and Dobson, the impression is got was that he felt the price they were going to get was way too high. Fans are upset that the Bombers lost players and didn't make a lotnof huge splashes... but I bet Walters isn't nearly as upset as fans are. He seemed prepared to lose some of these guys.

I'm just saying players are always bitching and moaning about something. I can sit with my coworkers and ***** about all the stuff our bosses do yet we're all still here.

Players always think they are the #1 priority. Lots of these guys probably weren't communicated to because the organization was moving on. In the case of Lawler he bailed for the money once already and then missed time because of his own dumb dumb decisions so walters maybe felt it wasn't worth the effort for a guy like that at that kind of price tag.

Do we know if Walters had any interest in paying him that much though? Lawler says one thing, but I can just as easily see Kyle Walters feeling Lawler didn't bring enough to justify the money.

I see him getting lots of reps in lots of different places. He might not be a starter but see him doing a lot.

He's shown plenty imo... was one of the best at actually disrupting things... so why he didn't get much playing time who knows... likely because he got a lot of reps at DE when he's not really a DE. Basically it's Booch's whole shtick. Put him in for Thomas and you get way way more from the position.

Ellingson was hurt... but he was a good vet when in and allowed schoen some time. Hard to really say it was terrible, and dresser did good here too. Honestly a lot of the problems we're hearing about are actually lapo problems. Lawler wasn't Lawler until lapo buggered off.

Yeah i was just going to bring up that Adams is a much better guy to use as a comparable. He was a seemingly depth signing that turned out well. But like you said, using a guy with injury issues as a comp probably not the best anyway.

Well personally I'm hoping for lots of streveler to help carry the load. Though I hoped for that last season and we didn't get it then either.

The time to be bold was last offseason and ship collaros to Ottawa and committed to Dru Brown. At worst their level of play was similar in 2023 (i believe Brown was actually better). Sadly they stuck with the old guy because they weren't interested in the short term risk for long term gain.

He got outplayed by nick arbuckle and Cody fajardo... mcleod bethel Thompson too... why we making excuses for the highest paid qb in the league over that period? You wanna be paid like the best you don't get outplayed by the likes of them.

When you pay your qb that much your depth and star power takes a hit... so you don't get the benefit of excuses. That's why myself and many others said ditch collaros and keep Brown. Frees up cash and gets a similar (better IMO) level of qb play.

Once more for those in the back.... collaros is being paid like a player that should be able to win the big game by himself.
