I think you are perhaps taking it a little too literally. Religion doesn't mean everyone is the same, but there are some people will do whatever their preacher says they should do.

US Politics
There also exist people who simply want to be told what to do and how to live their lives and don't want the burden of determining their own course in life. Religion appeals to these people because they can be told what to do and they never have to question anything. These people also tend to be fearful of things they don't understand because of the aforementioned lack of thought.

Yeah my impression of Johnston is that he is held in high regard by everyone in Ottawa which is why he's involved in everything. A guy like that isn't biased and the outrage is just more rage farming by the conservatives since it is literally all they bring to the table.

Yeah there's reason Trump lives in Florida now not New York. They all got tired of his bullshit decades ago.

What are you on about? It's not bloody hard to see the difference between biased pieces and impartial reporting. It's all in the language that is used. Critical thinking is a skill that is sadly very under used. There is a reason that the usual suspects call educated people "woke" or other things. It's because no matter what degree you get you are taught how to think critically in order to get that degree. As a result the educated are less likely to support the lunatics and why the ones who see through the bullshit are so disdainful of the people who lap it up.

You can be informed by exercising critical thinking. You can tell if something is presented based on well researched facts or if it's biased click bait. Requires investment in people's education though to develop those skills. Which is the exact opposite of what many politicians (ie. Conservatives) want because a populace that just believes what they're told is easier to lie to.

I don't know, I feel like that's loser talk. I think we need a government that can actually try and do something positive but not too crazy. This last budget really didn't do anything. We may be in an OK spot at the moment but at least do something.

Yeah. Trudeau is a complete dope, but christ I saw how awful a similar leader in Jason kenney was for Alberta, I cringe at the thought of that happening federally. Jagmeet Singh is as useless as the day is long but I might vote NDP purely as a protest vote whenever they get around to calling an election. Not that it really matters here. Useless little dipshit con wins this riding no contest every time.

This is the worst collection of party leaders I think I have ever seen. People are tired if Trudeau but that doesn't mean pollievre is a good choice. A guy who is only good at yelling about how awful things are and pointing fingers at the other guy makes for a terrible leader.

LOL at the line about "being used by political opponesnts to hurt out chances of winning across the province" Like they know their batshit insanity is a hindrance but rather than stomp it out they just want to hide it until they have power and then implement it anyway. Good thing Dumbass Dani is too stupid and inept to keep a lid on the crazies. Speaking of Danielle Smith, I saw her damage control on the bombshell from yesterday also amounted to "how DARE you use my own words to make me look bad!" God this United Clown Posse can't **** off soon enough. Need the NDP to win and send them to their own corners again so maybe the crazies can have their crazy party and the sane people can choose between a progressive conservative party and the NDP.

Let's have a wide reaching inquiry into everything. That's the problem. There is no one that is "clean" Nothing wrong with trying to get foreign influence out of our government, but it's there with every party.

Damned shame cause that guy is a talent.- 2022/2023 Off-Season (League/Non-Bombers-specific News)
I am really not sure that he is... numbers be damned.- Canadian Politics
Losing privilege feels like oppression. Can sum up so many of the "issues" people have these days.- 2022/2023 Off-Season (League/Non-Bombers-specific News)
Honestly if Schaffer baker was a bomber he too would have been playing second fiddle to the lawyers, schoens, ellingsons etc etc just like demski and wolitarsky do too. Honestly wolitarsky on a different team would get an assload more yards. That guy is a real rock solid receiver who is a role player because of the depth on this offense- 2022/2023 Off-Season (League/Non-Bombers-specific News)
No I mock him because he bought into the hype despite his many flaws and then when predictably things started going poorly he continued to act like it was all things outside his control. I was harder on Evans too until he opened up about his challenges and sought help for it. That's the entire difference. Honestly I'm pretty indifferent when it comes to rider players who aren't total ass clowns. It's always been the fans that are the biggest issue there.- Canadian Politics
Why do people want to go back to having a ruling class and the rest of us being serfs serving at their leisure? That's what small government gets you. I for one want a government that works for everyone and holds every one to the same standard.- Canadian Politics
It is nonsensical because if you shrink government to that extent you are giving power (more so than they already have) to the ultra wealthy and mega corporations. That objectively does not make anyone's life better.- Canadian Politics
Oh they want smaller government alright, but only in the case of smaller government in regards to wealthy corporations. These entities have shown time and time again that they need more regulation not less because they can not be trusted to do the right thing.- 2023 CFL Draft Discussion
We have already seen how certain types want to americanize the game. I think it's wilful ignorance to suggest that no ratio wouldn't mean going to full on american rules. The game is fine, the rules are fine, the ratio is fine. The problem is lazy assed teams not wanting to put in the work to grow the game in their own markets. - 2022/2023 Off-Season (League/Non-Bombers-specific News)
