you can shank a kick off a tee or a punt just as easily as you can a field goal try. That's all that happened here. Guy whiffed on the kick. If they're tried to punt it through and he'd shanked it wouldn't the questions be more serious about why not just try the easy field goal? It's just such a weird take because the riders are 1-1 against Montreal (who also did manage to beat winnipeg too) and 0-2 against the argos... so where is this tougher team hiding?

Because it's a routine play from a routine distance and your guy is kicking 90%. You don't over think things in that situation. They played the entire last few plays to kick the field goal. All it came down to was he flat out missed. Nothing more. If he was that much of a bag of nerves on a straight forward field goal what might have happened trying to get cute on a punt?

Are they though? Are they really better than say Toronto or even Montreal? Regardless of 1 or 2 wins difference...

The formulas for sask is simple: offense don't **** up and maybe get a few plays and win through D and special teams. I think though that our D can force mistakes from their O more easily than they will get mistakes from us. I mean when you play the tight game a couple plays swing it so losses can always happen but I just don't see their offense being able to generate enough consistently.

No at worst you find out that as poor as he was he was still better than the competition.

The question is if BC sweeps the riders back to back and they fall to 5-6 are they still a tough match up or do they then suck? You want to talk about a team with a tough 2nd half look no further than Saskatchewan. They're going to be seeing an awful lot of bc, winnipeg and calgary from here on out. You put entirely too much emphasis in meaningless things such are in season records. There are 3 teams worth a damn in the cfl so far based in performance, not record and they are winnipeg, bc and calgary. We played and beat those teams 3 times in a 10 week condensed no break schedule. We get to play them 3 times in the more rest time back half of the schedule.

So what does that say about the riders coaches and managers that anyone can be better than this guy? I bet the results are no different.

And you're still stuck in the driveway. Nothing about what the riders have done makes them a tough opponent so it is still that same number of "tough" weeks on the remaining schedule with the added bonus of more rest for the Bombers. Easier schedule.
