  1. My takeaways from the latest bit of Argo news to come out;

    If what's been described is true sure paints Chad as an immature child that didn't get what they want and lashing out. Fits the MO.

    The info clearly ties Pinball as knowing what was going on. If true I don't think it's only John Murphy that has to have a CYA plan. Murphy may be the fall guy, but as I've said before, the actions and inactions of the employer in this case are as significant as the harassing actions itself.

    I bet it is! I find myself wanting to have a cold one there!

    EDIT: which arcade games?

    I have the Arcade1up machines, which I find very close to the real thing, and much lighter. I find they're a good balance beetween practicality and enjoyment. Each machine has 8-12 games on it. I've got Ms. Pac-man, Pac-man, Mortal Kombat, Street fighter, Golden Tee XL (with bowling and shuffleboard), Star Wars and Star wars virtual pinball, (recently sold Terminator shooter if anyone noticed I miscounted!) Haven't done any mods on them, but could. To the other question, the pinball has the rockers and enough to feel real for me, but could put in another screen if I wanted. Some people go all out mod and use the 1ups as a shell

    I have one arcade and it’s the one every wrestling fan wants. Wrestlefest. There was an old arcade at my lake that went out of business about 20 years ago now and I got wrestlefest from them for free.

    If that ever needed a new home....

    Just sayin'

  3. The first videos of Shoen I saw posted here, the first thing I thought was that he was a CFL type reciever, had that look- body position, timing passes, great hands. Didn't fit the mould of a NFL reciever, but thought he may be one of those types of guys suited for this game with talent but overlooked down south.

    There's a lot of guys up here with enough talent to play down south, but just don't fit with what the NFL looks for.

  4. I'm President of a Beer collectibles club, with a basement full of stuff.

    I mostly collect beer tap handles and have about 450 displayed, along with neon and LED signs, tin signs, rare bottles, keg fridge- anything beer or Crown Royal related. I also have 7 arcade machines and a virtual pinball machine down there.

    Needless to say, a popular place for poker nights or family get togethers.

    I want whoever decided that Riders email was fine to have to answer to Holly Jefferson and see how well that goes for them...... that lady takes ZERO ****....

    This one made me genuinely laugh out loud!

    Saw her at a Banjo Bowl while she was pregnant, trying to get through the drunken mob to the elevators on the concourse. As a fat drunk myself, I acted as a plow with her following me to get her to the elevators, while she verbally cleared the way.

  6. Like others have said this one has an air of truth to it (Murphy and Kelly's history, the fact there would be witnesses). A couple of the other key points are;

    • the fact she had been in the position for a while. If the issue was with her, you would think something would have had to have been dealt with in the years prior
    • She is not asking for a great amount of money considering and not looking for a windfall
    • It also sounds as though she was a term position and the organization did not rehire, even though we can assume they did previous years. Argos probably thought the end of term and not renewing was an "out" to avoid, when it isn't

    This is going to look bad for the league and the Argos if not dealt with appropriately ie. proper investigation of facts, appropriate consequences for actions or inactions no matter position and impacts

    As we've noticed, it's not just the harassing act that is the concern, but the responses when reported, or lack thereof.

    It would be interesting to know how much of those 60 minutes are actually played and how much time each team wastes running the 45 second clock down. It feels half the time is spent running the clock down. CFL much quicker pace. More exciting for sure.

    I've heard around 18 minutes too- jinx

    I sure hope this kicker is the real deal, could be the next Bob Cameron and move here for life, well, maybe moving to your in-laws home town isn’t the draw one might think it could be…

    I know the in-laws very well- not gonna be an issue! We'll see what he can do, but he'll definitely have a great support system.

  9. Checking back in after not even wanting to think about it after the game.

    MOS has to show that he's willing to move on from some vets and give up and coming guys a legitimate chance to start. I'm worried about losing signing good players to other teams, when they know MOS is gonna be biased to his vets. How many up and comers on this team currently choose to go somewhere else next year where they're given a chance to compete if nothing cahnges?

    Need to go; Alexander, Biggie, Thomas, Houston for sure. Based on age, if it's keeping Dru, and getting something for Zac, or losing Dru and riding Zac out to pasture, I'm going with Dru. it would also illustrate that those that have earned a shot will get it.

    Not for the Bomber game it won't.

    I don't think so either. Was looking to have a couple people attend the game with us and sit close to us. As they procrastinated, I watched our whole section sell out, including singles sold out. Looking at seats available just now, anecdotally looks like a lot less tickets available than last week.

    I was looking into this further.

    I work for a union, you have to register to be able to by the looks of it, and we don't. In fact I am required to fill out a monthly report to document any time I talk to a politician, and any time during elections we have to report every penny spent during the period, with a very low limit (like $3k nationally).

    Unifor does more so (under 1 million), but I'm going to guess that they're an outlier and that it's a veritable drop in the bucket in the big picture when you compare it to corporations.

    So, do some unions do this- yes- but I think it's disingenuous to lump them together when you look at the big picture. I don't think union contribution amounts are anywhere remotely near wealthy donors, corporations, or right wing organizations.
