If you're going to blitz a veteran QB, you're going to get torched in this league. You need to get pressure with 4-5 (5 would be with a blitz).

D is pretty average. Can't make any plays. Our starting QB gets taken out with a headshot and we respond by getting walked down the field all half on D.

So do both things? Get no pressure and don't cover the receivers either? Just showing that to Harris before the snap then he can just lob the ball out there to someone wide open.

No you wouldn't. That Robustelli play is how getting burned in Cover 0 looks. They need to move Harris off his first read and off the playside. Can do that with pressure or coverage. The most egregious situations on this team IMO are Vaval and Jefferson/Vaughters. If we ever do get pressure it's usually bull rush from Lawson or Thomas.

If they have Vaval starting on D next week that would be complete insanity.

DB does have to play the ball. Especially if they are going to make contact early. They call PI all the time when the DB is actually playing the ball. A player who has gained position shall not be considered to have impeded or restricted the opponent in a prohibited manner if all such actions are a bona fide effort to go to and play the ball.
