Our pass rush really has to focus on the target and not give those lanes for Harris to step up.

Ayers hesitated on the edge vs a run fake to the other side of the field otherwise there's no chance Harris gets that ball off.

Plus, Toronto and Ottawa are already operating on a shoestring with minimal revenue coming in from their local operations. Edmonton's owner is the estate of a dead guy....so how capitalized are they? There's not much margin for error.

Yes. Sask just blitzed all day and for the most part the Bombers O had very little answer until they hit Zach late. You feel he's good against pressure? I can literally see 7 guys coming from a shitty sideline angle on TSN 3 seconds before the snap and Collaros is trying to work through reads once he's gets the ball as he gets snowed under again and again. Among CFL HOF level QB's I've watched in my life, Collaros is absolutely one of the worst at dealing with pressure consistently....like even in his MOP years, but getting worse as he can't move as quickly.

He makes spectacular plays but he has to be one of the worst QB's at his level in the history of this league at dealing with pressure, especially as he has lost a step and the ability to really scramble/go off schedule. He hasn't adjusted to the reality of what he has left in the tank and just thinks he can move like he's 31 when he's 38.

If we had a Global DL that could play we could quite easily drop a Canadian on O and get Singer on the field every down. You'd have to drop the last Canadian LB.

A system that relies on a whole bunch of guys making the same read is the very hardest to run. And that's what he wants to do. It stops feet and pulls all the aggression out of the players when they are always just trying to be in the right spot. And JY is so reliant on vets who are physically not as competitive anymore because they get it. So you see some busts on guys like Texada and Vaval who aren't out there much and you even see the veteran guys trying to assume what the QB read is but missing guys going vertical. There's no defense played in the entire world of football above crunchers where you are letting guys run vertical routes by themselves like we saw Duncan-Busby and Wiebe get a few times last week.

I think it's the smart play. Have Riders on their heels a bit. Really tough conditions with having to go silent. Also don't see the need to play D first in OT when we get the choice. I get the orthodoxy in that choice, IF all things are equal BUT Rider D was just out there. Killed any positive momentum you had with O. Put a TD on the board and let your D win it. We have barely used a DI on O the past couple seasons. I think it's quite reasonable to do so, especially when we are lacking in playmakers significantly. What would be really insane is if we continue to use a DI on Castillo if the field changes happen. Placekicking is going to become far less important. Grab someone like Brady Lidster and play to score TD's.

Sask basically beat us on a fluke play by Harris to the RB where our D over played Harris and Woodbey's gaffe tackle. That's 10 free points right there. One TD drive on the board by Sask if we make those plays.

The crazy thing about Daniels is we traded up and traded a future pick for him then after the 1st Q yesterday Clercius was playing in-line tight end anyways. Can’t understate how Walters has botched basically every draft post 2019.

Collaros and Condell both need to be called out severely for their approach to dealing with clear and obvious pressure. It’s quite clear in this game we weren’t adjusting at all to what the defense was bringing even when I could see it coming 4 seconds before the snap on a shitty TV angle. Vet QB and game plan both need to be able to deal with that. OL can only do so much going on silent all night vs 6 rushers. Ball needs to come out way faster. Very little screen game but was effective the couple times they did run one on first down to get to second and manageable. Collaros wants to read coverage with the ball in his hands and depending on what the D is bringing that just isn’t possible.

Woodbey might be the worst “trust me bro” keep around by this regime. Weak effort on the Wiebe play basically gave the Sask offense life in this game. Guy has been here going on 2 full seasons and hasn’t even made one play as an American LB. What the **** are we doing on the personnel side?
