My partially qualified opinion… BC is ok because they can host every 3-4 Grey Cups. Calgary and Edmonton are both in real trouble. Like there’s no way they aren’t burning $5 million a year on operations. Need stadiums and play in really tough CFL markets in this era. Montreal loses a lot of money on operations and has no ability to make that back on hosting Grey Cups anymore. Toronto is as usual. Ottawa needs to win soon or they will be in trouble too. I don’t believe the earlier schedule has been positive for league revenue. If anything it’s harming them at the gate.

Bombers at Stamps early chat

I don’t think you can add another guy on D at expense of O. We basically have 3 backups on O. It’s more Vanterpool vs Cooley vs Mitchell for that spot. If they wanted to change/add on DL they’d be sitting Ayres or changing up LB’s. -

Probably because you weren’t watching the game full of hate. -
Gary Crowton is available. Leader of men with a humdinger offense.

Lots to learn from that game. Edmonton exposed our coverages by running switch routes where guys cross and go vertical to other side of field they started from. Our HB's and Safety made really bad reads on what route they needed to prioritize on some of those plays and Edmonton hit/almost hit several big plays off those. Nichols kind of got lost on the TD and jumped eligible OL...but really who cares about that guy at midfield, not a threat, while Bridges stayed with his guy across the field and the other wideout got passed off twice, third time (when he turned vertical) to no one because Nichols was out in the flat on a OL. Then he was running by himself to the endzone with the ball. You know it's a bad bust when a guy is running completely free on a play from the minus side of midfield because our coverages hugely prioritize sitting on vertical routes basically until they cross the 30. But the games are so long, have 4-5 negative plays are going to happen. You want to be able to get those back with turnovers and sacks.

Edmonton's best runs were mostly draws. Under 4 ypc on 1st downs. Still trying to make Ford a real QB. Won't implement RPO system that would give him a chance to be lethal.
-
It was pretty obvious from every view but there was a camera right at field level that showed it 100%. It bounces off the turf and back into his numbers without him having control of it.

Kilam takes the wind in the 2nd quarter and it's a much tighter game. Gave it to us in both long quarters when he chose the ball. Probably cost his team 6 points at least.
-
Oh man. I'd like to see you apply this for a week.

I feel like in any sport where there's a version of a "Command Centre" that can intervene challenges are basically useless now. More likely to further penalize yourself by killing a timeout. Need something that's such a simple call and so obvious for an overturn.

3 stars plus hh elk hunting season

Ford 228 yards total offense with losses from sacks factored in. Pretty much a perfect game by Tony Jones. Streveler had more net rushing yards than Tre Ford did in this game on 2 QB sneaks. -
Streveler's first start.

Win the coin toss, win the game. -
The wind is NE...so it's going toward the SW corner of the stadium. And somehow 47 of 59 points and 70% of the yards gained in this game have been driving toward the south end. Hmmmmmmm. Wonder why the Bombers took defending the north endzone and driving south in the two long quarters when they won the toss (and Edmonton took the ball after Bombers deferred).
-
Random fact...47 of 59 points in this game scored by teams heading toward the south endzone. ****** O'Shea can't do a coin toss.
-
Nice wide zone vs bear front. Peterson so good at finding vertical gap off his spot if it's there.
-
The physicality is there, just trying to do too much sometimes in pass protection, missing reads. Edmonton is basically hammer 3 gaps with Ceresna and Brinkman in the 40 fronts and eating up our whole line when we **** it up, they are looping ends and backers around that, trying to make a mess.

Schoen gutting it out.

Don't know if we need to screen out to the guy with a bum hip.
-
Curly Gittins out for a cruise.
-
That's good. Looks like concussion to me.
-
Unlike the QB's out there dominating leagues with no protection. Like a Ron Mexico.
-
Weird that Castillo can get so much more leg into his kickoffs toward the south end. Is there some kind of metrological effect that could cause that?

Wheatfall looks like he's going to hurl. Maybe they should reassess him.
