  1. Richie Hall era D was also all time great at turning ball over.
  2. And here we are with what as the other options? A guy who is so busted up he can barely fall forward on a wedge play these days?
  3. When's the last time you watched a football game?
  4. We're navel gazing on the 35th roster spot when spots 1-30 are getting killed every week aside from our kickers and a couple DB's.
  5. And Jake Kelly has been great for the Calgary Stampeders too. The problem with our team is we're getting nothing from our American players....due to lack of talent/ability or lack of opportunity to be on the field.
  6. Him and Jarious Jackson have only been efficient passer/play caller together. Otherwise they've both been awful in those roles in this league. Only a portion of that contract is guaranteed and the likelihood of scooping anyone better than Collaros is almost nil.
  7. If you like sacks and 2 yard passes. Take Cooley's YAC yards off the board and Wilson did nearly nothing against team losses when he's on the field (aka him getting sacked by holding the ball for an eternity).
  8. Always a silly take. We know. He's played a ton in two preseasons. No progress Year 1 to Year 2. Way outperformed by a rookie pro this year in preseason games. Only thing I don't know is why they kept him instead of someone who can at least function at this level like Dolegala. Wilson has near zero upside as a passer. Not even a good NCAA QB, slow processing in pocket, hesitant to throw the ball more than 5-6 yards downfield. Let's put him out there to make sure we get murdered so we KNOW!
  9. He was playing the lower tier of arena ball after getting cut by a European team.
  10. Cyril Penn has done jack ****. Hamilton signed a bunch of free agents. We have years of piss poor camps in his tenure and barely any solid American prospects outside the secondary.
  11. So you'd cut Adams/Woods, Person and J Jones for those 3? I wouldn't. Can complain about how they are using Americans on D...but those 3 in Hamilton as players are nowhere near being impact players. Average is probably overstating their impact on D...both here and now half a season in Hamilton.
  12. No Kelly was in from the start. Bonds didn't go down until right before half. They were essentially playing two deep safeties to shake up VA and try to negate the explosives. They had Griffin playing more LB style SAM than DB style. Worked for a quarter until they started running single verticals and posts at Kelly's side as an adjustment.
  13. They essentially use 2.5 American spots on D for special teams. And our kicker is American too. And our best American receiver is probably Jerrith Sterns.
  14. I track it series by series, not as precisely as DT. Probably the last game I'll be able to do it though because my season starts this week. Kelly played basically that entire game...him, Kramdi and Griffin essentially functioned as the WIL/SAM/Safety but not always static in position. Griffin most likely to be in the box or blitzing. We had a lot of snaps with 4 Canadians on D. Most with 3, some with 2. We are starting 6 Canadians on O. So we only need 1 Canadian on D. Now if we have Canadians who are better than our Americans...ok. Not sure Kelly is that. Not sure Thomas is that. Also no reason to start 6 Canadians on O if we're going into a game knowing we're going to play Jake Kelly the entire game on D. But...not sure who the Americans would be we have ready to go. Allen is an obvious one, Woodbey would be one but we're kind of loaded where he would fit in...but might be more useful than Ayres being able to play 2-3 spots on D. Don't think we have anyone on O ready to go aside from Vanterpool when he gets healthy. We don't have enough American players....which is a huge indictment on the past 2-3 training camps.
  15. Streveler has never been good at the wedge play. He hesitates and looks for a gap plus he's way too upright. He was bad last year too. We lost a game because of it in Toronto last season. If they are going to use him they need to use more of a veer, QB power/option/zone blocking kind of look out of pistol. It's insane to me to have him out there with no back, no even potential pass option, no motion across formation. In general I hate that look where everyone ambles up to the line of scrimmage, no handoff option, no pass option...D knows exactly what's coming and it's only going between the guards. Way too easy to defend. If they want to run the wedge, then it should be Wilson.
  16. Yeah their average game is 31-27...so it's not like anyone on their D from here is lights out. If we're worried about Miles Fox, Tyjuan Garbutt and Brian Cole our heads are firmly planted in our asses. Those guys are not good pro football players.
  17. Personally I think he'll have to come on to play boundary corner with Nichols at half. Kramdi at safety, Holm at field half, Lawson at field corner. Kelly as the dime I don't really think we should start Vaval, ideally wouldn't have to play him on D at all.
  18. Start by using our American roster spots. 3 American OL when Vanterpool is back. I'd even try the guy they just signed in the interior if he's looking physical. We need someone/a few guys to drag the O into the fight. Don't think Brady will be that guy, he's busted up. Cam Allen should be in, likely boundary corner given who we have healthy. Might give Russ Dandy a call from camp get him a couple weeks of practice. We seem to be losing a DB a week to injury. Get creative with deployment. Woodbey should be ready to play. Use him at SAM/WIL...pop Griffin/Kramdi back to safety when we go 2 high. Woodbey might fill Ayres special teams spot and give us a lot more on D. Kelly should only be out there when we really need 7 DB's. Or use him at field corner or even kind of a blitzing dime style spot. Don't think he can process fast enough to be the guy responsible to support up top, even in cover 2/3. He needs to just have one job where he doesn't have to make many reads or decisions. IMO if we prioritize O and D a bit we have spots for 3 American OL, another American on D (even 2 if you swap out Ayres and another of the LB's for guys that would have roles on D, secondary and DL).
  19. Any single one of their receivers on Jake Kelly or whoever we play at field corner is a bad time. I'm hoping Cam Allen comes on. Kelly might be better off at field corner just given the task of managing the deepest outside route instead of trying to read into backfield and make decisions. He kept stopping his feet then trying to recover which was 3 deep balls, two catches, one for TD and his PI. Athletically I think Kelly is a good prospect (yeah he's in year 3) but the processing clearly isn't there yet at game speed. The most egregious roster management issue is that we're forcing a guy like Kelly out there when we only really need to play one Canadian on D. The DL guys don't kill us as much as is talked about, but putting a guy out there to just be a mark for the opposition in the secondary is not good. We've dressed 3 American LB's (aside from T Jones) to take about 70 reps in the past two games on D between them. That's a bit less than half the snaps on D. But we're dressing a secondary with no backups aside from our primary returner (who is not an outstanding nor experienced CFL DB) and using two Canadians in the secondary when we only need 1 on the entire D based on the number of Canadians we're starting on O. So....beef up the OL with Americans, bring in another receiver/playmaker...beef up the secondary or interior DL with an American. We can easily do two of these things. It's crazy how we're utilizing (or not) our American roster spots.
  20. They built a great team. As it’s aged they haven’t replaced a multitude of all-star players. Then it’s death by a million paper cuts with assignments being missed down after down, no spectacular plays and silly decisions around scoring or giving up points just piling on to the struggle.
  21. Yeah one of them the ball hit at the 8 yard line. He returns it 15 yards they are at the 25. So at best we’re conceding a point for 15 yards.
  22. Well at least we have something to build on.
  23. Once PornHub started getting shut down in a bunch of states.
  24. Self fulfilling prophecy. Gotta cut some of the low effort crew. Start with the receivers.
  25. If you replaced all those guys with rookies you'd have low six figures saved. So like basically the difference between signing Vaughters or starting a rookie DE there. Them being here doesn't stop them from signing other guys.
