  1. c'mon man. in 2019 at this point in the season we were still starting that maple maga guy at safety. weird **** happens in the CFL playoffs.
  2. firing the top football people on a 6-4 team that's sold out a bunch of home games in a row. yeah, that would indeed send a message.
  3. that little shovel pass that Collaros improvises on the second play, turns a sack into a first down. ZC 3.0. you love to see it. Wheatfall downfield blocking for Brady at 1:50ish. Dude is playing like a real Bomber receiver.
  4. Karen Gillan is a cool action movie actress. So good on them there, nice bit of casting. No possible way they can find a soundtrack that matches up to the original, tho.
  5. I ran the numbers a couple of seasons ago and CFL teams then dressed 10-12 different receivers over the course of the season. I think one team hacd a terrible injury run and dressed 14. We're just over halfway thru the season and we're at 9 different receivers (Schoen, Demski, Wheatfall, Sterns, Clercius, Concoran, Cobb, Case, Mitchell) so if our luck holds we're going to be starting Mike Miller at boundary slot in game 18. With the short passing game currently in vogue in the CFL, receivers are going to take a lot of punishment and seems like you've got to have a real deep bench there.
  6. Morgan outperformed my expectations. He made some nice throws downfield. Was expecting a wide side pick six from him tbh, that's a rite of passage for raw CFL QBs. But he looked a little overwhelmed running tempo at the end of the game. We got the win and didn't give up many points ... but I was still troubled by the fact that Morgan had such a clean pocket to operate from.
  7. Brady running like there's a puppy needing rescue in the endzone. Collaros looking like a wily veteran, lots of nifty plays and point guard passes and fewer prayer heaves. Demski playing like an undisputed WR1. Hope he's okay. Our pass rush did not harass Morgan as much as I would have liked. When the telecast showed Demski's rise in Bomber receiver history ... I didn't realize that Denmark was a top five bomber receiver. Wish we had him now as a midseason reinforcement like we did in 2016. Lapo his usual good self in the booth but needs to learn how to say "Poplawski"
  8. I was there too ... it would be easy not to follow the bombers and after 2013 habit was nearly gone ... but then they hired O'Shea. Had been a fan of his since his rookie year with the TiCats. That dude was pure game at his peak. Plays that went his way were simply ended, and he could go sideline to sideline. Was so geeked in 2014 and when Nichols arrived and we turned the corner in 2016 I knew I'd be a fan for the rest of my life.
  9. I'm most interested in seeing Logan as a tailback. Brady's taking a pounding this year and having someone who could spell him would be awesome.
  10. my questions going into the game: 1. can Hogan put together 60 minutes of good offense? 2. does Collaros continue to build chemistry with Wheatfall? Really liked what I saw from Lord Keric last week. Played with a lot of courage.
  11. I think 2013 was the true nadir of the bombers, the darkest moment before the dawn of the present age. Reinbold's teams were terrible, but they has spirit and Milt Stegall played out of his mind in 1997. 1600 yards with Chris Vargas and Kevin McDougall as your quarterbacks. Unbelievable. There were a couple of fun Kelly games too -- Fred Reid's big outing in BC plus that home game where Michael Bishop passed for like 450 yards. bomb after bomb after bomb. 2013 had no such moments. 2013 was just unrelenting ****.
  12. how the hell is Shawn Lemon still in the league? I hate how TSN won't even bring up that the dude was suspended for gambling on CFL games. Sports is in so deep with the gambling biz, it's ******* vile. Ok, bitching aside, go bombers!
  13. Dru Brown is out this week. said it before, say it again, I hate seeing young gun QBs get hurt. League needs those guys on the field so bad, I don't care who they play for. (no disrespect on the Bomber who hurt him -- was it Vaughters? It was a clean football play. Just stupid bad luck.)
  14. My abiding Buck / Zach moment is the TSN turning point pick that Zach threw right after tearing up his finger in the 2024 Grey Cup. That's one I'd like to dissect. Was that Zach gunslinging or was that play call intended as a deep shot?
  15. CFL draft is a huge crapshoot, yeah. Would be interesting to measure the correlation between draft position and career longevity. maybe @DTonOB has this? dude is doing mad science with his basement CFL stats lab.
  16. how much of this is due to us consistently drafting late for years now because we've had a really good team?
  17. I hope I'm wrong but I've got the feeling that Roadhouse's best days are behind him ... and even if he can get back to his peak, he's going to take awhile to get there.
  18. has there ever been a Bomber OC that MBB liked? Looking at the recent OCs... Marcel Bellefeuille -- emergency scrap heap guy, only competent option at the time, somehow hung on way too long Lapo -- too cerebral, no killer instinct, bad playcaller. QBs check down too often. Buck -- ruined Streveler, predictable playcaller. QBs go deep too often. Hogan -- worse than Buck. offence starts hot and ends cold. can't make adjustments. seen wearing backwards hat and sunglasses. seriously, I don't think I can recall an OC who was good enough for this board.
  19. Holy cow, that sounds like an incredible amount of work. Super curious about the tools and data sources you use -- do you have your own play-by-play database?
  20. @DTonOB what data sources do you use for your research? Does the CFL have a stats database for media?
  21. Demski just passed 100 yards with that catch.
  22. damn, Wheatfall earning his loonies tonight.
  23. yeah, the TSN endzone camera showed zero daylight in between the tackles.
