  1. is that a catch? didn't drop the ball until he was down by contact...
  2. plus it's a road game for the Elks -- they don't have that home field disadvantage to overcome.
  3. I just watched the Duck Duck Goose game on Youtube.
  4. Hey people who know about football: what is mirroring?
  5. what, no love for Chris Jones? I know Dickenson ain't shooting the lights out right now but at least he wins a home game now and then...
  6. I got a question. Here's a freeze-frame from the Demski TD. How is our inside guy on the short side not offside? The ball hasn't moved yet. When I saw it live I was sure the TD was coming back. the Elk left-side DE was flagged on the play for offside, and yeah that guy moved early, but it looks like we got away with one ... unless I don't understand how offsides is called against waggling receivers.
  7. I was in BC for the big playoff collapse in 2016, the Medlock 61 yard fg attempt one where we blew a 25-6 halftime lead. as the kick landed 5 yards short, some drunk BC fans actually apologized to me with genuine sadness because I guess I looked that devastated. I have seen the bombers lose sooooo many close games in BC....
  8. It's either a Blue Oyster Cult song or a Black Sabbath song.
  9. Did not see this elsewhere on MBB. James Murphy is this year's Ring of Honor inductee. One of my earliest favorite Bombers, was crucial to our 1984-1990 Grey Cup wins, especially the 1988 one. He is second only to Stegall as the Bombers's greatest receiver. https://3downnation.com/2023/08/07/winnipeg-blue-bombers-to-add-james-murphy-to-ring-of-honour-at-ig-field/
  10. HH to the equipment guy for finally using the gold pants at home. Blue Bombers: not just best team, but also best looking team.
  11. this is gutting. she was one of my favorite artists. she'll never get the apology she's ******* owed.
  12. yeah, that 2019 western final against the Roughriders was a real narrow thing indeed. Hard to believe that we could have taken a step backwards at any position on the field and still won.
  13. the interesting thing was that Judge erased Crum from the run game from the second quarter on. But then the redblacks adjusted and Crum started delivering passes from the pocket... I don't know if the guy is going to have a long CFL career or if he'll be solved at some point like so many other promising CFL qbs have been ... but the bottom line yesterday was that the Stamps schemed very well to take away his best weapon, his legs ... so he beat them with his arm, and he made some real nice precise throws into traffic too. Seems like a pretty promising sign. (note: I know nothing about coaching football or QBs) edit: another promising sign: Crum beat Maier by playing clean. Unlike Maier, he had no picks and no fumbles. Rookie run-first qbs forced to operate from the pocket tend to be turnover machines, but Crum has been pretty clean so far, tossing just one pick in his very first game against us.
  14. Khari too. Winning two straight with his QB4. Love to see it.
  15. Crum is not hitting his receivers in stride, he's hitting them standing still -- hard for receivers to yac with their feet planted.
  16. yeah, that challenged play was a football play, not a Mr. Aweful play. there it goes. Calgary runs max protect vs 4-man rush, the mayor has all day to toss the money ball.
  17. Firewagon football! Don't have a good feeling about the redblacks being able to make a three point lead stand up for a whole quarter. Think the Stamps are going to gut this out.
  18. Piggy gettin bursty. Needs one, gets seventeen.
  19. the Mayor and the Crumbacker playing some ball, you love to see it. this league needs some entertainment value. so if you're KJ and you know you're gonna have a LB spying your running QB, what do you call?
  20. The thorax is like the strike zone: it gets bigger every year.
  21. HH to Lapo, who is a pretty good color man / analyst I think. I am so bummed about the state of competition in the CFL these days that tbh I am kinda happy that a raw rookie QB made some plays and won a home game. We need some damn QBs in this league. What do people think of Crum? Legit dude who clutched out or a one-game wonder who took advantage of a disinterested Bomber team and will be killed by film? Is he a Kopp or a Streveler? He made some precise throws on that final drive, but damn the Bombers were playing with pillowy softness.
  22. So with all this talk of easing Wilson back into the lineup, I wonder if the bombers could name him as the designated national and have him sub in for Briggs or Gauthier? He's in his third year with the Blue, so he qualifies, and our regular DN is Grant... max 23 snaps a game seems like a reasonable pace when it comes to easing a player back in, which is what I hear is happening.
