2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season
say what you will about Kelly, the Fred Reid game in BC will always live in my memory ... watched it on a cheap little laptop from a hotel balcony in istanbul, drinking raki. Poor Javier Glatt. I was astonished he still had a career after chasing fast Freddie around all day. Mike used to have a great avvy of Phil Hunt about to obliterate Kevin Glenn. Wonder if one could make a similar one for Jones vs Brock

2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season
have been watching some 1997 Bomber games as CFL Classics has been posting them. Just watched the Toronto v. Bombers game where Reinebold rolled out Dexter Dawson as a DB. Pinball and Flutie absolutely pantsed him. (the offseason is so brutal I can't believe I'm watching 97 Bomber games to get my fix)

Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
I'm more thinking of Milt getting revenge for some of the cheap shots he took from Sanchez over the years...but sounds like their bygones are bygones.

Man I have no idea what Metcalf was thinking. Disrupting his team, getting suspended during crunch time of the season, and voiding millions in guaranteed money. Just bad all round. quite a season by the Hawks this year. I was not expecting them to be a divisional contender!

Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
every time I see Milt and Sanchez together on the panel I am hoping just a little bit that Milt pulls a Joe Kapp.

Lots of people in Missouri are laughing today. 58% of the voters in Jackson County (the county in MO that would have imposed / collected a Chiefs tax) voted against the tax. Luckily for Phil Hunt, the owner of the Chiefs, the Chiefs taxes could be implemented in Kansas without requiring a vote.

Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
What's JY's status? I know people get frustrated by the lack of pressure, but by the numbers we were the top D in the league last year. Are we in danger of a downgrade there? (we were the best in defensive points allowed, but were not the best in total points against. Lots of points scored on turnovers against us.)

Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
it's an interesting year for free agent QBs. Ordinarily there's an obvious matchup of free agent QB and rebuilding team (like Brown in Ottawa, VAJ in Calgary, Fajardo in Montreal, etc). This year the top free agents are MBT, Crum and Powell, but there's no obvious landing spots for them. Really curious to see where Powell's head is at given that BLM just resigned for two years and Powell got no snaps last year.

yeah, you look at how Buck lost his shine here right around the time that our OL hit the skids and Collaros started tossing tons of picks -- then he goes to BC where he's got the legit MOP, a good back, receivers five deep and a line that can pass protect ... and now he looks like a genius and we'd take him back in a second. Crum surpassed my expectations last year. Showing steady upward progress. Wonder what his ceiling is? Would be happy to see him at QB2 in blue.

2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season
we've had guys on this very forum joking about doing a Tonya Harding to certain bomber players. I'm like 99.9% confident those are just dumb jokes but it's a world of crazy motherfuckers making lunatic headlines out there and so I'm always a little 👀 when I read that stuff.

Thanks you guys! Def going to be watching for the Big Stan Flop next season.

Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
here's something I've always been curious about -- how on earth do OL play into their late thirties? how do Yoshi and Big Stan keep their footwork up to cope with freak 24-year-old speed rushing DEs? a guard like Neuf is getting heavy body contact on every play from jacked up DTs and generally will play the majority of snaps in a game. That's a lot of punishment to take over the course of a career and yet the dude is still doing it at a pro level (tho I guess opinions differ on this)

people tell me the team needs to "get younger" and I'm like isn't he our DC already?

25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread
I am not qualified to judge OL issues, but it sure seemed to me last year that Brady was getting the holes he needed at the point of attack and that we were getting OL into the second level often enough. The ugly OL moments happened in pass pro, Zach dropping back against teams rushing 3-4 -- sometimes Zach wouldn't even get a steamboat before he had to start scrambling, he'd have a DT in his lap or an DE coming round the horn. Which makes me hopeful that if we get pass pro sorted out, Zach will return to form.

I think Tyson Philpot is indeed the best Canadian WR and has gamewrecking talent ... but agree with others that yikes that's a lot of money for someone with his injury track record.

yeah, the dude had some serious success with MBT in Edmonton -- his OC track record isn't long but it looks pretty good.

Durable too ... has missed only two games in the last three years despite doing a lot of work in heavy traffic and he doesn't shy away from run game blocking either.

Would love to see Justin Hardy here. Dude is a legit #1, makes plays all over the field, has had three straight 1000 yard years. His 2023 season had Terrance Edwards energy ... he hit 1k with rookie Dustin Crum, bad Nick Arbuckle, brokedown Jeremiah Masoli and Tyree Adams as his QBs.

Do coordinators and assistants typically get deals that are longer than a year? Do we have any coaches on our staff that aren't free agents?

Permission to talk: Is O'Shea leaving?
huh, yeah, that's an elegant way to put it. nice.

Grey Cup GDT - Riders vs Als
yeah, the Riders were both lucky and good yesterday, but I think they were more lucky. Montreal oopsies were a 3 TD swing in the game. still, a pretty entertaining game .. a B or B- on the Grey Cup curve ... and was impressed to see Alexander allllmost gut out a 3-score comeback with one leg. it's seven months until we get more CFL Dusty so I guess everyone needs to get their fix before the gloom of the offseason wrecks them.

pathetic. lol. how quickly you've forgotten how bad it can really get.
