Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
Do coordinators and assistants typically get deals that are longer than a year? Do we have any coaches on our staff that aren't free agents?

Permission to talk: Is O'Shea leaving?
huh, yeah, that's an elegant way to put it. nice.

Grey Cup GDT - Riders vs Als
yeah, the Riders were both lucky and good yesterday, but I think they were more lucky. Montreal oopsies were a 3 TD swing in the game. still, a pretty entertaining game .. a B or B- on the Grey Cup curve ... and was impressed to see Alexander allllmost gut out a 3-score comeback with one leg. it's seven months until we get more CFL Dusty so I guess everyone needs to get their fix before the gloom of the offseason wrecks them.

Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
Not sure why people are eager to move on from Neuf. Wouldn't be easy to replace at the same skill level, passport, experience, and durability -- he started all 18 games last year. Of course, he's at the age where he might decide for us, or where he might suddenly break down. It astonishes me that guards can play into their late thirties. Is guard the most physically punishing position on the field? Jefferson is too expensive for the one or two games he wrecks every season. Or maybe he could still be consistently dominant if got spelled off once in awhile? I dunno. Saw Cadwallader make good plays on teams all year, so would like to see him stay. We seem to be able to dig up great DBs every year so I don't know how critical it is to retain / give raises to any of our DBs.

might be time for someone bold to put a fork in this weird season and fire up the 2025-2026 Blue Bomber Offseason Thread.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Ah. 💡 If I can read Wikipedia right, Mike Miller is the guy who oversaw the development of the sex pest and Arbuckle. That seems like a pretty good guy to have if you're looking at needing to develop a QB as we need to be. Jarious Jackson ran a pretty great O in Edmonton in 2024 -- he had MBT on a serious roll. Too bad for him his defense had negative clutch. Would be happy to see him get a promotion.

back in the day when he was an argos coach he did a Q&A thing on cfl.ca. I asked him how defensive plays are called and whether the D can make audibles based on what they see. Got a terrific multi-paragraph response back from him. Definitely got the sense that he cared about doing this tiny nothing gig for some fan on the internet.

Mike Miller? Is that guy on an OC track? (I honestly have no idea)

CFL East Division Final: Montreal @ Hamilton
the pick that BLM threw early in the second quarter that killed a promising Hamilton drive -- he was staring Lawler down all the way.

CFL West Division Final: Coach Buck @ Knuckle Dragging Cousin Lovers
that would have been a first down if the BC lead blocker had finished his block. Rourke had a lane all the way to the first down.

34 needs to finish that block, that Rourke draw started off as a real nice looking play with a lane all the way to the first down

kicking three there was not a great call, I don't think, but we'll see how this plays out.

Riders' secondary did not take their Ritalin this morning... these conference final games have not been track meets but they've been tense and enjoyable to watch.

CFL East Division Final: Montreal @ Hamilton
right before his hamstring re-injury he made a nice solo run for a first down in the red zone ... and he clowned it up on the sidelines, making big eating spaghetti eating motions at the crowd. Then he got hurt on the next play. Felt a little like karma and hubris. In conclusion, needs to turn his Madden cinematics down about 25% and I bet he doesn't finish the game next week. yup. he gets the goat horns for sure.

CFL East Division Final: Montreal @ Hamilton
the prestigious MBB poll voted decisively in favour of Montreal. Would be interesting to see how the MBB predictions fare against the cfl.ca ones...
