  1. yeah, Brandon's point is legit. painting every protester as a nazi is incorrect and counterproductive. Some of the organizers have some serious stink on them, though. Pat King is a piece of ****, if you're lining up behind him or beside him, you gotta ask yourself some questions. Tamara Lich seems to have absconded with a bunch of GoFundMe money that's been completely unaccounted for. Also note that the MOU that the original convoy organizers put forward has demanded that Parliament be replaced with a citizen's committee that would work with the Senate and the Governor General to instantly end all public health policies regarding to Covid. That is uh not how this is going to work guys. So yeah, I'm sure there's people there for whom the health restrictions have been a giant bummer, and who would have my sympathy. Unfortunately the people who are organizing them are various mixes of crazy, dangerous, and grifter.
  2. With Flex moving to LB, the DipshitsElks have turned to free agency to source a new tailback. https://3downnation.com/2022/02/08/official-edmonton-elks-sign-former-riders-defensive-back-ed-gainey/ Also, looks like we won't have Charles Nelson to kick around anymore, he's listed on the Edmonton roster.
  3. gotta go back and rewatch the Edmonton games from last year ... Biggie absolutely stuffed Wilder on one play and gave him a little flex afterwards. perfect gif material. next year hopefully Bighill, Maston, Briggs et all remember that Wilder thinks he could just walk into their position and play it...
  4. Argos got Ambles. I was hoping we'd get him -- he seemed like a high-upside guy to me and I think he'd be a starter on any team in the league.
  5. When I think about a receiver playing into his mid thirties, I think of a guy like Nik Lewis who has the savvy and toughness to cover for the decline of his physical tools. Don't see those qualities in Banks, alas, and I think he's too frail to be running back kicks full time. Not interested in him as a bomber unless we have a midseason emergency or he signs for bottom dollar. (note: I know nothing about recruiting or scouting football players)
  6. Shocking ... another Stampeder heading east to the big smoke. not a Stamps fan but I hate how MLSE can just buy talent from the rest of the league.
  7. nice strategy. Cause a ruckus just as things are scheduled to change, then take credit for the change. Makes you look credible and powerful, even if in reality it's like you're Macho Harris and you're crediting yourself for the bombers' turnaround season in 2016. I'm glad that the border vaccine controls will be more enduring than the in-country vaxx and mask mandates. (nothing against Macho, his was just a name I picked from the 2016 bomber roster)
  8. the Riders soured on Harker immediately after seeing him in game action running the full offence. some Dom Davis energy there. Does this guy have upside?
  9. I don't remember this. I remember lots of people getting by Hecht at safety.
  10. we retained the MOP QB, the MODP, 7 of 9 linemen including the reigning MOOL, the national talent we did lose all had succession plans, except for Kongbo. Kicker and QB2 are my only real concerns.
  11. remember how desperate we were to retain Henoc Muamba, 2013 Bomber MOP? ...and what a bummer it was to lose him?
  12. dude was so clutch in big games. Grey Cup 19, Western Final 2021 .... it absolutely sucks that it went this way but I understand why it had to happen. Great sport, shitty business.
  13. I read this a lot and I wonder, who got the targets in 2021 that should have gone to Woli? Lawler was the best WR in the league, Bailey emerged, Demski made plays all over the field and our running game was on no matter who was carrying the ball. I love Woli but last year he was the WR4/WR5 on a stacked team. He was the perfect field WR, tho: forcing the D to cover the whole field, opening up stuff inside for our other guys, making the most of his targets, blocking like a wolverine, and carrying the right passport.
  14. yeah there are definitely some yeah, definitely gonna wait and see on this one, there are some things that don't add up here.

  16. I hope that you are right, but I suspect that you are wrong. The natural tensions between east/west/urban/rural/government/resource in Canada are not going to disappear and there are bad actors who are very good at exploiting those tensions (not to mention manufacturing new ones) to radicalize people. The pandemic might have helped that along, but if there were no covid, there would be something else hyped as the end of civilization.
  17. In 2005 we had Kevin Glenn for most of the season -- Martin threw fewer than 100 passes that year.
  18. Check the timing, he announced this only after we re-signed the Jeffs and Fat Boi. Decided he'd rather run into burning buildings than face our DL. (I joke, I joke, good luck to Mr. Reilly on his future career. I actually live about two minutes from a Seattle fire station.)
  19. any news on Streveler? Only thing I've heard about him lately is that Lapo wants him as the Ottawa QB1. I dunno about this ... not a lot of evidence for it. Seems like when a CFL team goes into the season without an established QB, that team generally craps the bed. Good rookie starters come along only about once a decade ... Allen, Flutie, Ray, Evans .. can't think of any others. None of the current crop of CFL QBs made waves as rookies, tho VAJ started and won three games in his first CFL season.
  20. Top Three Worst Knees in Bomber History: Robert Marve Reggie Slack Nolby (get well soon, dude! enjoy yr time off)
  21. dragging this thread out of the mouth of the Sarlaac to ask: Anyone watching the Boba Fett show?
  22. mmm, eggnog. Peace, health and happiness to all my football friends!
  23. "has committed to staying for the full tenure of the contract." lol. if you have to say it out loud, how true can it be?
  24. Bobby Gorgeous won't be coaching the Als receivers next year: https://3downnation.com/2021/12/21/alouettes-receivers-coach-robert-gordon-wont-be-back-in-2022/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=alouettes-receivers-coach-robert-gordon-wont-be-back-in-2022 whoah, TIL
  25. Vince Ferragamo too! tho poor Vince could never figure out how to deal with the extra man in coverage. Threw a lot of picks and I don't think he ever won a start. a TJ Rubleyish performance from a big-deal NFL star.
