  1. Redblacks rolling without a true RB. Running sixpacks most plays.
  2. VAJ always puts up the big numbers in the cozydome ... too bad for him but he'll have to win November games in Sask and Wpg without much of a run game in order to get back to the dome for the Grey Cup...
  3. I know nothing but I'm expecting Maas to plan and roster this like a meaningful game. His team was coasting in BC and he won't want to go into the playoffs like that.
  4. The real head scratcher play for me was 2nd and goal from the 2, we lined up in short yardage with an empty backfield. Everyone in the stadium knew that Wilson was gonna run it up the gut and lo, stuffed. Set the tone for the whole game. 1. Marshal and Matty. Do not break these two up. Matty coaching up Brady from the booth was hilarious. 2. Cole 3. Klaw HH: How about Jake Kelly starting at safety for the first time? The one time I noticed him he was doing his job well.
  5. ok, the West is ours for the taking, LFG baby.
  6. "Darkangelo tryin to chicken-wing him there." 💙 Matty
  7. gotta keep my eye on Brady .. in the past we've checked down liberally to deal with coverage downfield .. is he getting spied? Wilson with nice ball security as he fights. Hate seeing a WR fighting against three or four guys but it turned out okay there.
  8. yeah, I'm not into country music at all but I have to admit the dude has a pretty stellar voice. Real rich.
  9. that was putrid, but we've played this bad and won before ... lots of football left to be played.
  10. Dunigan in MOP form tonight, demonstrates how to properly appreciate a country music star from the booth without embarrassing himself or the league. love some Jelly Roll.
  11. weird thing: Zach's not seeing anything downfield he likes ... but where's the checkdown man on those plays? Zach hasn't tried to checkdown yet...
  12. yeah, the stream of consciousness rant where he coached up Brady from the booth was priceless. love that guy.
  13. bombers with the slow start, but on the bright side we got a top-tier TSN duo of Ferguson and Matty describing it...
  14. absolutely no deception there at all ... it was obvious who was carrying the ball.
  15. man when you're running short yardage why do you empty the backfield? Especially when you've got the best RB in the CFL?
  16. yeah, at the time the Neuf trade was kind of a nothing trade -- guy with big injury question marks vs. legit star rush end with NFL aspirations ... but it turned out real nice for us in the long run. I recall arguing at OB about this being a trade with massive upside for us and I'm so rarely right about these things that my victory lap on it will probably last far beyond the end of Neuf's career.
  17. the QB trades are some wizard trades but I'll always say that the opening kickoff of the modern Bomber era was Kyle Walters' first trade: Alex Hall for Paddy Neufeld (and a 4th, which became Christophe Normand) Getting a Canadian starter for a decade in exchange for a rental on an American rush end is some fine work indeed ... and the fact that it came at the expense of the Roughriders is (chef's kiss)
  18. thanks for the explanation. multiple times I have tried to make sense of the Nationalized American rule by reading the CFL rulebook and have completely bounced off of it every time.
  19. oh man I would love to be there. that's a lit receiving corps right there. that 84 team was formative for me. the way we demolished every team in the playoffs that year, I thought the championships would never stop coming...
  20. yeah, until the WSF win I had the magical play mentally filed under "just another Robert Marve-style crowd pleaser." the dagger play of the WSF ... that was when I started to believe. Darvin Adams caught the winning TD for us in OT in 2021. What a great way for him to go out, he led the Bomber passing game for so many years....
  21. then you compare it to the clutch goal-line play that Nichols made in the 2021 Grey Cup...
  22. yeah, I think that in our recent TiCat game, Bo challenged Nichols a bit more than QBs usually do ... and he paid the price. Nichols' interception was a thing of beauty.
  23. so I know this topic of our roster composition has been debated at some length here, but lately I've found myself thinking about the second game in the BC home-at-home. We lost Neuf and Woli for that game and we replaced them with two imports -- Lucky and Randolph -- without having to disrupt any other positions. Normally when a team loses multiple national starters at once, the ripple effect will hit other parts of the roster as the next-best-Canadians become starters regardless of what position they play, which makes injuries to national starters pretty devastating. It seems like playing a surplus of Canadians -- especially forum whipping boys like Kramdi and Thomas -- has enabled us to have the roster flexibility to deal with injuries that would have crippled the team in past years.
