Around The League Regular Season Discussion
Yeah, that was the first thing I thought of when I saw Goalie's post -- that this was a move that a guy like Kelly or Popp would make. If memory serves, the LeFors situation was a bit sleazier. Didn't he have a shoulder injury when his contract stuff went down? This is why I always root for the players in football labour disputes: pro football contracts are bullshit.

Yeah, I love listening in to that kind of stuff, especially if the commentators are on it and translate it a bit. Wonder what Dave D. and Austin think about all the viewers (and opposing teams!) eavesdropping on them. If I recall right, Lapo wasn't a fan when they did a similar thing in preseason a few years back.

The CFL and TSN will have extra on-field miking for the Calgary / Hamilton game this weekend. Details are light, but the QBs and head coaches will be wired for sound. http://www.cfl.ca/2016/08/25/cfl-on-tsn-announces-first-ever-live-mic-broadcast-of-a-regular-season-cfl-game/

Nicholls's Potential Bonus
The Bombers glory years OL was all-Canadian. Bastaja, Bonk, Moors, Nemeth, Walby, Bauer were all non-imports. (Bastaja was born in London, but went to school at Simon Fraser)

what to do with the Def. backfield
Frederick is looking like Rod Hill out there. Sitting him down feels crazy. Given the way things have gone so far, the injury bug will answer the cornerback question for us.

Is It Real?
Are we for real? I think we've been pretty lucky, in three of our wins, our opponents completely self-destructed. Even in the Edmonton game, our final dagger was an interception on a ball that Reilly just shouldn't have thrown. The good news is that our team is good enough to create and capitalize on these opportunities, but I'm really curious to see if we now beat the teams that, on paper, we should beat -- the upcoming three games against the weak sisters of the league feel like trap games, especially Labour Day, when we historically underperform. You look at a team like Calgary, it's very rare they get upset by a bad team. I've gotta say that our depth in the secondary is totally unbelievable and Loffler's emergence as a surprise national starter feels absolutely huge to the Bombers' turnaround: his play upgrades both the secondary and the OL.

Is It Real?
Is Adams 100% in terms of conditioning? I recall reading he was gassed badly in his first game and he drew into the lineup way faster than the team wanted because of crazy receiver injury spree.

Stamps/Riders who you pullin for?
This year's Riders look like the 2009 Bombers would have if Kelly had cut not just Kevin Glenn, but also Edwards, Johnson, Brown, LaBatte, and Reid.

Holy crap I love this photo.- Toronto - Game Day Thread
Do the math, Noeller: Tonight Denmark had 80% of the Bombers' receiving yards. Miltgiving day game: Milt had 234/410 yards or about 57% of the team total. Milt Miracle game: Milt had 254/370 yards, or about 68% of the team total. Those Milt games come close, but he didn't quite dominate the Bombers receivers like Denmark did tonight.- Toronto - Game Day Thread
Denmark: 7 catches / 195 yards Rest of team: 10 catches / 51 yards I can't remember ever seeing anything like this, where one receiver has four times the receiving yards of the rest of the team. Mr. Dee, I expect that next week's In Case You Missed It will talk about the last time we saw comparably weird receiving numbers. Maybe in the mid-2000s when Milt was basically the only receiver the Bombers could roll out week-to-week?- WPG @ TOR - GIFS GIFS GIFS

http://www.canadaworkpermit.com/faq/general.html 5. Once a work permit is issued, can I change employers? It would generally be necessary to seek a new work permit or a change of terms in order to engage in work with a different employer. A work permit is generally issued on the basis of an intention to work in a specific position and for a specific employer. (this is from a law firm, not actual Canadian CIC.) It'd be hilarious if the Roughriders are not only flouting CFL rules, but also breaking Canadian law arranging under-the-table jobs for these guys. Hilarious for everyone except the players, who are breaking the law in the hopes of a pro football paycheck. Hope those guys don't get **** on too hard by CIC.- Around The League Regular Season Discussion
Did anyone (besides Rick Campbell) have any beefs with how Orridge handled the Jason Maas controversy during the offseason? Seems like he made a sensible decision, decisively shut down Ottawa's request for compensation, and did it all in a timely fashion so the Eskies could get on with their business. Mark Cohon, who basically turned around the league last decade, was also an NBA marketing guy, among other things.- The Music Thread

Wasn't there a change to the timing rules this year that made it advantageous to run a high-tempo offence? Maybe the idea with using the starters in short yardage is to line up quickly with no substitutions and not allow the D to bring in extra short-yardage beef? Like maybe you were 2nd and long and you were facing a D lineup biased for the pass. Then you have a good second down play and you're third and short and you want to run your short yardage against that undersized D, so you go tempo offence, line up and run it. (this is an interesting thread guys, thanks for posting it. Love seeing posts that refer to video.) - Same Ole Crap
