  1. Pulling a helmet off by the face mask after the play is over, isn't just pulling the helmet off and attacking a player by his face mask after the play is over isn't just an average in the heat of the moment face masking. I remember a player pulling a helmet off by the face mask and bowling the helmet down the field a few years back and he was ejected. Got a 1 game suspension too, but that was eventually overturned when the players association stepped in. Asking a Bomber or a Riders fan about the Harris penalty is pretty much useless as you're not going to get an unbiased opinion. The CFL panel thought it should be a penalty. They're unbiased, mostly ex players and coaches who know what they are looking at.
  2. It's already been discussed to death and I don't want to revisit it yet again. The readers digest version: You don't need to punch a player to get DQ'd. Although some folks say that DQ's are black and white rules, the actual penalty says: Article 2 — Rough Play A player shall be penalized and subject to disqualification for any act of rough play against an opponent, including but not limited to: striking an opponent with the fist, hand, knee, elbow or helmet in an excessively rough manner, kicking an opponent or, any other act of excessive roughness considered by the Referee to warrant disqualification. Premeditated. Not simply grabbing the face mask during the play. Harris spun a player around by the face mask, pulled it off his head during a fight well after the play was way over. Everyone who saw the play would categorize it as rough play against an opponent. Most, non-bomber fans would call it excessive. Therefore Article 2, point 3 should/could have been exercised. Maybe the Ref didn't see it, so couldn't DQ Harris, but the command center could see it and chose to ignore it. If the penalty is about safety like they say it is, then it's a dangerous play. More dangerous than punching a player with a helmet on. Folks bring up Adams vs Bighill ignore the fact that Adams took a 1 game suspension for the play or justify it by saying that Adams hit Bighill with the helmet. I don't think that's any worse than throwing a guy to the ground by his face mask. FTR: Yes, I think the players who were thrown out should have been. No, I don't think throwing Harris would have made any difference to the outcome of the game, nor do I think is was the worst face mask ever.
  3. I think Harris should have been thrown out of the game, but I don't think he deserves a full game suspension.
  4. I don't care what the press or anybody says about the Bombers. All I care about is the wins.
  5. Yes. I wish we were celebrating 2 grey cups in the last 17 years. Maybe this year.
  6. 100% For based on his play for the Bombers.
  7. "Glen Young is on leave as defensive coordinator of the Toronto Argonauts until further notice. Along with defensive backs coach Joshua Bell. Veteran assistant Rich Stubler will call the defensive game plan for the Argos this week against Saskatchewan. Today, GM Michael Clemons told the media that Young would retain his DC title while he is on leave from the team. Reports are that Young and DB coach Joshua Bell are away from the team because they have not followed MLSE’s vaccination policy, which requires all employees to be vaccinated. The Argonauts have not confirmed that. Both Bell and Young’s absence is being characterized as being of a personal nature." Sounds like Cov-Idiots to me.
  8. The reason our offence is much better this year is the same reason it was much better in our playoff run last year... Collaros.
  9. Annnnnnd....... I'm out.
  10. If that's the decision, then it's OK with me.
  11. After looking at the injuries, I'd like to change my vote from Regina to Winnipeg, if that's still possible. Thanks.
  12. Mike Reilly
  13. I think Gray is a healthy scratch every week because we don't want to put him on the PR and possibly lose him.
  14. I doubt we have a lot of extra cash to throw around because they lowered the SMS cap this year.
  15. I think the Riders will go with a lot of quick outs and slants. Getting the ball off quickly is one way to handle our D line. I expect some jet sweeps to widen the D line and trying to establish some kind of run game. Fewer deep shots cuz they don't have the time. I expect Faj-j-j to have a better game and he'll need to if they want to win.
  16. Leggz missed 2 kicks yesterday and 2 kicks last week and he's only been the starter for 2 weeks. That's what rookies kickers do. Make some big ones. Miss some they should make.
  17. I can't understand why it wasn't roughing the passer. Hand to the face mask should be called every single time. I'm not sure what criteria they were looking for.
  18. 1. Alexander - Picks and big hits. 2. Harris - His running allowed Collaros to go for the bombs. 3. D Line - Took over the game. HH: The cross bar.. That beautiful big yellow bastard does it again.
  19. How can anyone not trust doctors to make a vaccine and not trust doctors opinions on vaccines, but trust doctors to fix them when they get sick because they didn't take the vaccine? Their ought to be a special ward for these special people where they just get thoughts and prayers instead of taking up the doctors and nurses time.
  20. Reindolt was a bad coach, but at least he was a decent guy. I sat with him at a Grey Cup party and talked for an hour about football. He was highly entertaining. The Kelly year was the worst for me. I wouldn't have sat down and talked with him if he was the only person who had a chair available at his table and I have really bad knees.
  21. Andrew Harris
  22. 1. Collaros - On time. On Target. Drops cost him a lot of yards. 2. Jefferson - Only guy getting consistent pressure. 3. Jones - Forced fumble likely saved the game for us. HH - Gautier = Huge hits always make me smile.
  23. Dumbest move of his HC career IMO.
  24. PLAP's offence works when you have a decent QB, a good RB and a great O Line. Ottawa has none of those. Once they get behind, they can't open up the offence because Nichols deep ball accuracy is sub par. All they can do it the same thing and hope for zero drops. I'm surprised they even have 1 win this year.
  25. I started by saying the Bombers made 2 big plays that put 14 points on the board for us. That's not ignoring the good things, it's giving the Bombers their due. I'm not pretending that the Bombers didn't make mistakes. We all know they made mistakes. I'm saying that the game wasn't lost simply by Bomber mistakes. The loss was mostly due to the Argos badly out playing us on that day. That's why I don't agree with your 'do you see the Bombers making that many mistakes again' line of 'reasoning'. Now on to today's game. I expect it to be a one sided win for the Bombers.
