Politics (Split Thread)
Yeah, I specifically meant today's Canada. Hard work in 1917 Russia wouldn't get you much lol. The problem still exists. But it's a across the ocean so we can pretend it doesn't. A large chuck of North American prosperity is on the backs of working poor in other countries.

Politics (Split Thread)
Working hard will in many situations not help you advance in life. Just ask the working class of the 19th and early 20th century. They worked harder then any of us do, and had very little to show for it. There plenty of countries around the world where this is still the case. As some have already said, Canada seems to strike a nice balance.

Who gets the axe by Monday?
That would be a mistake cause Portis stinks. Six of one, half-dozen of the other. Both aren't good at sneaking either, their likely role this season, but lethal on the zone reads and option plays. I really would like to see a guy who looks like he has potential to be a CFL QB in town if we stick with 4 QB's. We don't need two guys like Marve and Portis around. Willy is the starter, Brohm is the backup but is pushing 30, the other two can't pass to save their lives. Some work to be done at QB IMO. Tons of work to be done at QB. Meanwhile, we hold our collective breaths and hope Willy stays upright.

Due to FIFA, hotels are mostly booked up in Winnipeg and the surrounding area. Thought some of the out of towners might want to know.

Als Sign Michael Sam to two year deal
Yes, let's all congratulate the Christians for keeping their stupid, dumb, backwards mouths shut for once, so we don't need to tell them how intolerant they are! Oh yes, huge pounding slaps on the back and crushing handshakes all around. It's ironic that tolerance does not seem to be a two way street. And somehow it's assumed that certain people will be intolerant.

It would be nice if could just be allowed to play football - without outraging anyone.

Where Does Babcock Land?
To answer the original question: the place where coaching careers go to die.

Alberta, Taxes, and Socialism
You might have to settle for a lemon party. It's almost as much fun. Cool - that should put the squeeze on things
-
Non-Jets Playoff Action
That's pretty good. All they need to do is stay away from game 7 and they should oust the Rangers.

Alberta, Taxes, and Socialism
That does it - I'm not voting till we have a watermelon party

White Cop Shoots Black Man, Charged With Murder
If you really read the thread you know the answer. The narrative of "oh he was just running away" isn't accurate. Add in the warrants, the assault, the struggle over the stun gun....the bigger picture isn't as near and tidy as originally thought. In a perfect world the cop would not have shot the guy. The victims actions lead to the shooting. The cop made the choice to shoot. Honestly the worst thing the cop did was plant the stun gun. That's going to be the hint hole in any Defense even if he's innocent. And again by the law this ain't mirder. I was reading opinion. I'm still reading opinion.

White Cop Shoots Black Man, Charged With Murder
I've been reading this thread, reading other articles, and scratching my head for the past few days. Running away from Police is a strange decision to make - sometimes people make strange decisions. Does that mean they should be shot? I dare say not. I get that some of you are arguing semantics and commenting on the rights of Police Officers in general - but why defend a cop who shot and killed an unarmed, fleeing suspect?

Round 1 - Game 1 : Jets @ Anaheim
The last few playoffs have shown that goal-tending is not the be all and end all that it used to be. Good goal-tending helps, but teams of this era seem to generate more quality scoring chances. The days where the likes of Broduer and Hasek can control a series are over.

Pav is starting to lose, back to Hutch ...
lol at not thinking Pavelec is a huge weak link on the Jets. Aside from 3-4 recent games, Pavs lets in a softie just about every game. It's amazing what the "recency factor" does to people's mindsets.lol
