  1. Looking at the QBs league-wide, one would think offenses should be better. Outside of Montreal, everyone has a decent - excellent starting QB. IMO, OL play is the biggest factor. There are far too many plays where QB's are getting harassed and hit. There aren't any rushing stats that jump out at you either.
  2. Is there even a track for this thread to stay on?
  3. Very true but I just can't see Miller caving in to the pressure by the media. I tend to agree...but stranger things have happened. This regime looks, feels, smells, and acts different...I hope that continues...
  4. And...then they want him to say he has a bad team? Bad coaches? Because then all they'll do is starting talking about how the Bombers are rebuilding again. Team management that caves in to pressure from media and fans has been a chronic problem for about the past 10 years. The Kevin Glenn release (with no real plan at QB) was a classic example. Everyone made enough noise and management gave in. It wasn't just Mike Kelly either; Brendan Taman made some rather telling comments shortly after the '08 season.
  5. Watching the B.C. defense pretty much shut down Calgary...our O didn't actually do that badly against them last week. You've got a top notch secondary combined with a tough as nails DL that gives Bighill and Elimimian room to roam.
  6. First, I will say that the single biggest factor in the game was the blocked punt that went for a TD. You don't usually beat an evenly matched opponent when you let that happen. But...they went with 5 receivers on the last drive...leaving an extra blocker to help the OL. They'd had success on some quick slants, but Hammy had those covered. I would say Hammy focussed on the quick, short stuff and hoped their guys in the back would be able to cover. Turns out they didn't have to...back to back overthrows and a time count violation. IMO, this comes down to lack of confidence in the running game and the OL.
  7. It just proves the old adage. No matter how good your running game is, it's literally nothing if your passing game isn't a threat. I also think the Riders just happen to be a team that matches up well against the Bombers' defence. Edmonton has a little more beef in their front seven. Couple that with an ineffective QB who's greener than grass, and the skids are well greased.
  8. Did you read the whole thread? If so, stop trolling.
  9. Sorry guys...forgot about this thread. Yeah...it's all good
  10. All things must come to an end (good or not)
  11. Hats off to Tino the game manager
  12. Next time you get a chance to see Durie live, take a good look. The guy is a good football player...very good at getting open for dump offs and a good blocker too.
  13. Ummmm I don't think of our front four as being that big of a threat. They generate much in BC, whose OL isn't that great.
  14. Well...this contest shrunk in a hurry
  15. Seems like quite a few teams need to take a hard look at their OL this off-season.
  16. Remember Calvillo in 2007? It looked he was done...improved protection the following season added a few more years to his career. The Bombers need to get serious about protection. If we're starting 2 - 3 Americans, we should have a good line in spite of our shoddy CIS draft record.
  17. An incredibly shoddy OL performance in the second half...almost looked like the Hamilton coaches picked up on certain tendencies to exploit.
  18. Back to the original topic: after last night, the CFL just got a whole lot more interesting. Toronto should make the playoffs and with RR behind centre they are quite capable for going on a roll. I expect the Stamps to lose unexpectedly at some point. Also, they may go into the playoffs having played several meaningless games. The Edmonton D could wreak havoc in bad weather. Much to be determined yet...
  19. That was quick, nice to see BC lose though
  20. Criticizing Bryant is pointless unless you've watched film and analyzed how much coverage he draws. I know I've seen a few plays where he has been open but the throw wasn't there. But really, there's isn't whole to go on.
  21. It seems Bell won't be providing this service, so I'm out. But is anyone else tired of watching regular season hockey? I will check scores and watch highlights, but I'm not serious about following hockey until the playoffs start.
  22. And some of it is legitimate. For example, the big cities carry most of the political clout. There are 'paved' roads in rural MB. that wash out right down to the gravel, and don't get fixed for half a year. Rural people 'put up and shut up' more than many realize. I can show you city streets where this happens... it is not strictly a rural problem. If this happens, it's not in high traffic areas or areas with a lot of semi traffic. In many rural areas there's no consideration that a road might be needed for harvest.
  23. BC
  24. No, but there was a thrashy doc / reality show that aired on National Geo a while ago. They paid a colony in Montana to get it filmed on their yard, then paid certain members to be 'actors.' Pretty much a gong show but it must have been entertaining...the ratings were good.
