  1. It doesn't matter how fast or slow he is if we can't get him the ball. We still need O-line help. Then worry about fast receivers. True, which is why I hope people have realistic expectations for MSW in 2013. Hopefully next season if he sticks around, and the club wants him back, he can showcase his talents in an actual half decent offensive scheme, should we be so lucky. As much as I dislike Barker and the Argos, I'll give them credit for making some tough decisions and rebuilding their O-line into one of the best in the league. We should do the same and then hope to find a Ricky Ray. Then I'll get excited about MSW. Concur. Who says we have to like a head coach? As long as he can do the job it's all good. Dave Ritchie could be a crusty old son of a gun who gave the media almost nothing to print...but he stuck up for his players and they rallied around him.
  2. I'll 'woo' if they bring some import OT's after NFL cutdown day.
  3. Oh yes, he's the guy who called cover 0 on that play. To me, that you've described is exactly what should happen. Unfortunately it didn't happen with Casey Creehan.
  4. He's clearly connected to Mike Kelly, so I'm thinking they have similar personalities. Both idiots...assholes....that's my guess. You're trying too hard.
  5. You don't say.... What is baffling is that I have never coached a game in my life and yet I knew that they shouldn't of dumped Elliott and that Buck should of been gone two years ago..... I also knew that Boatmen wasn't the answer and that Buck shouldn't be over Goltz in the depth chart.... Funny thing. Boatman used to be an Argo...Bluto said the same thing about him as soon as he signed here.
  6. How was it stupid when the guy has been a healthy scratch for more than half of Calgary's games this year? It would have been done sooner had Mack not said no initially when Burke first brought up the idea of letting him go. Shaddup...the ah seen the guy make a pick...right in front of me he were...
  7. Going out on a limb here but I think there may be a sharp decline in attendance after Banjo Bowl. I think you're on a pretty solid branch...Banjo Bowl takes care of itself...after that look out!
  8. January is our left tackle and he is ok. Shannon Boatman is the RT and he is horrendous. It's sad that we are wasting an import spot on him. I dare say it's an indictment of our U.S. scouting...
  9. Can't fault a man the first time.
  10. Yep, but I figure the rest of this season is pretty much TC anyway.
  11. Got a kick out of some people at The Keg: asked for the entire beer list to be recited...then ordered Bud and Coors Light.
  12. Especially after watching Reilly get creamed multiple times on Saturday...maybe there's a mercy rule...somewhere in the annals of the CFL rule book...
  13. Yum yum, now for some Horse Hash or Lion Leftovers to round out the palate
  14. Do you really think so? Jim Daley in '05 had a much better QB (Glenn) than anything Burke has right now. That '05 team was abysmal. and what's this team? I honestly think Burke is the worst head coach I've ever seen on this team. Merely pointing out...there's plenty of futility to choose from

  16. Jason Boltus Sigh. I see on the other board that some posters agree with me about this O-line. I still maintain that that is the absolute first thing that must be addressed. Until the O-line is improved this offense is going nowhere. Dear Wade: Please find the next Chris Walby and build an O-line around him. Please do it soon and at any cost. Thank you. Any cost can mean a lot of things. What if decided to start 3 Americans? Then our NI's would be: 2 OL, the Muambas on D, 3 receivers It would be great if scouting could replace Bowman and they could swing a trade to replace Morley At any rate, it'll be interesting to see what they do.
  17. and Boatman is one of those players cut adrift from another team that people scream they wanted Mack to sign too. Honestly though I want to see what the o-line looks like with a different guy coaching them. As much as I can tell from watching on TV I haven't seen DelMonaco make anyone better in that position in his time here. Having had the chance to watch Calgary's OL (live) twice this year, I can say that there is an OL that dictates the flow of the game. Ours isn't close to doing that.
  18. The drafting actually did get better while he was here...mainly because previous regimes left themselves only 3 picks to work with most of the time. I haven't been a Mack supporter for pretty much the past year, but I think we need to be careful with the assumption that will things will get better now that he's gone. I assumed we had good U.S. scouting in place under Mack. But when Shannon Boatman is the best we can do at the import RT position, then U.S. scouting was clearly not that great. Walters will run the CIS draft...but who's in charge of U.S. scouting? What is being done to upgrade this area? Until questions like that are answered...things are probably not going to get better.
  19. The 2001 team had Khari Jones, Milt Stegall, Robert Gordon, Charles Roberts, Mike Sellers et. al. If anything, I dare say they Underachieved
  20. I get all the logic boys. My point we don't just do it with the Lapo / Burke situations...do it all the time.
  21. Groan...just don't start anything about tight ends and wide receivers...
  22. Terrence Edwards and Clarence Denmark but not the rest of the team? Indeed, we were some of the first passengers to board, would've been pretty hard to miss the rest of the team. I wonder if they missed the team flight. And the reason I asked is some people will travel on the same flight as the but only mention a couple of players. Should have know you wouldn't be one of those but it seemed weird they travelled separately. It's more like they were on an earlier flight. Buck for one was still in the airport when our flight was boarding. Both of our flights to and from Toronto were completely full. I suspect the team have had to do some shuffling.

  24. But that was also the logic behind Lapo hiring Reed, Walters, Barresi, etc... good working relationship - except somewhere at some point you need support staff with real CFL experience at their position - Lapo's crew had CFL exp but all of them got promotions at once... so all were learning together, it just doesn't work Burke did pretty much exactly the same thing... except with less CFL exp... just can't figure out how we didn't learn... Lapo was never hands off with the offense. And most of us on the message boards wanted to Lapo to be more hands off with the O. Now we want our current HC to be MORE INVOLVED with the D. Dunno, the assumption Bomber fans always make seems to be 'the guy doing it doesn't know what he's doing'
  25. So...my buddy and I ran into Lapo 3 times in Toronto. Once on the street, twice at the airport. "Mr. Lapolice are you stalking us?" Also saw him talking to Buck right across from us at the departure gate. Decided to leave the poor guy alone...already...only to discover he was on our flight... Besides Lapolice, Bob Irving was on our flight, as were Paul Wiecek, Kirk Penton, Clarence Denmark and Terrence Edwards. They were NOT used to being recognized in Toronto. For what it's worth, Bob flew exec, Lapo flew economy. (TSN vs. CJOB? Hmmmm...) Cool CFL weekend.
