  1. The chances were there, next game they will bury them. Trouba makes a mistake like that maybe one play in a thousand. I still say Jets in 5.
  2. Yeah, I guess I’m thinking more of something like the James Wilder situation. Durant is a lousy reference point.
  3. Right. As long as the team holds all the cards, it’s all good.
  4. Durant does not have a lot of class in this situation, but football as a business had something like this coming.
  5. Too bad Shanghai in is Winnipeg no longer a thing
  6. He definitely understands the current approach to goaltending.
  7. Their defensive play was outstanding: physical play, blocking most of the cross ice passes, tons of shot blocks, mostly routine saves for #37
  8. They still feel the need to prove that the Jets are a bad team.
  9. Myers also draws shifts with Buff. ATOI in the playoffs: 1. Byfuglien - 26:17 2. Trouba - 22:04 3. Morrisey - 20:45 4. Myers - 19:47 5. Enstrom - 17:34 6. Morrow - 16:34 7. Chiarot - 15:56
  10. It could have something to do with him being one of the top 4 D men.
  11. No incumbent left tackle with a pocket passer at QB? Pass the smelling salts...
  12. There is such a thing as something simply being wrong.
  13. Rinne made very few difficult saves - that was obvious
  14. Which stats are those? They generated less than half a dozen good scoring chances, Nashville D were usually allowed to take their sweet time in their own zone, and when a Jet did fore-check, they arrived too late to make an impact. They are the best fore-checking team I've seen in years, but they didn't show up for game 6, game 4, and the first period of game 5. "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics."
  15. Different defenders have been guilty of just drifting back to the goalie instead of attacking the puck carrier, as well as getting caught on a pinch.
  16. Kulikov could be a huge addition - sounds like several D are playing hurt
  17. Given who we have at 1 & 2, the QB position is pretty much set. I’m not particularly excited about that position battle.
  18. My take: There is no point in hammering pucks into the corner if the wingers aren't going to go after them hard. This is a good fore-checking team - now that they really need to do it, it doesn't seem to be there. When they took over game 5, they literally had their way with Subban and the other D behind the net and along the boards. What happened to that in game 6? In my opinion, Rinne wasn't great in game 6, but he didn't have to be. The Jets did not have very many good scoring chances.
  19. It must be frustrating to make three saves in row, then lie flopped on the ice with a Buff rocket whizzing over your head.
  20. Don Cherry was bang on during the first intermission of game 5 - the Jets need to play their speed game right from the start. They were dumping the puck in and letting the Nashville D take their sweet time going back to get it. They cranked up the speed and even Subban looked ordinary - he got beat on several of the Jets' goals. Fun Fact addition: Patrik Laine is scoring again.
