I don't think getting rusty after finishing first is as big an issue as it gets made out to be. The benefits of having a playoff bye are much bigger than that - especially for getting everyone healthier Sure, it happens once in a while, but the truth is there are 1 or 2 first place teams in almost every Grey Cup.
