This is just silly box score scouting. 275k doesn’t mean you should put up 1000 yards, 275k means you should be an impact player when you’re on the field and he is. You don’t win games in the stat sheet, you win them on the field and Lawler is a player that helps you win on the field.

I doubt this changes anything … if it did, I’m sure Dunk/Naylor/Farhan would’ve had some kind of comment from “sources” (front offices, agents) by now I’m still skeptical teams didn’t know until today. Seems incredibly difficult to believe, how could guys like Schoen or McManis not get super frustrated about that if it were the case?

I don’t get this logic at all. Like … it doesn’t even make a bit of sense. Even if you don’t think Dobson is a world beater (and I don’t either, I think he’s fairly average) he was still Canadian and better than anything we currently have on our roster and better than anything currently out there available to bring in. There’s no possible way to suggest our OL is currently better than it was two days ago. At all. You can think it will be better in time, you can think it will be better if we run an American out at guard instead and that’s all fair to suggest but it would’ve been just as fair if we had Dobson. And we don’t. That’s a loss as it stands today.

Yeah, that Friesen tweet is ridiculous on so many levels. The optics of announcing it now for the CFL are truly bad though

How is the OL “the same if not better” when we have literally only subtracted one player (a Canadian and a division all-star) and added zero players.

I mean you can’t really dress this up to look good, we’re getting picked pretty clean in a few areas … if only we had some of that depth a few of us have been complaining about for years. This is exactly why the practice roster is so important and exactly why it’s so frustrating we don’t use it properly we’ve lost a receiver, a middle linebacker (good riddance), a left guard, a safety (hopefully) and a corner and we genuinely have maybe at best, a sort of educated guess as to who will replace two of them.

Hollins or Dunbar … I mean, there are definitely worse options. there are definitely some negatives to what is happening right now but let’s not lose sight of the positives. At least we haven’t signed Alexander yet
